We have a lot of young goats and also the bigger ones that we milk some of for our own use, for cheese , butter etc. We have 3 dogs and 3 cats( the cats live out). I do work partime and sometimes have to be away for 2 days, but Samara Who lives in the house takes my place when I am not there. We enjoy meeting new people.

We are a small family, with two young children. I am an English teacher, and tour guide, and speak fluent Italian and pretty good French. My husband Paddy is a wildlife conservation ranger.

We live in a white cottage in a big garden, in the Kerry mountains, a beautiful corner of Ireland, the Beara peninsula. It is on the Wild Atlantic Way, and has some of the most spectacular scenery you could ask for. Loads of hillwalking opportunities, and lots of ancient sites to visit - our peninsula has dozens of stone circles of various kinds. We can lend you a bike to explore. There are lakes nearby, and we are on the sea shore (but unfortunately no sandy beach nearby).

We live in an isolated area but can offer lifts to local towns, and further afield too as Paddy drives across West Cork a few times a week. There is also a local bus into Kenmare every morning.

Our helpers' accommodation is a private bedroom in our home. Bathroom facilities are shared. Free Wifi and use of our home ... more inside

**Our next available space is from the 3rd May but we also have spaces for June, July & August **

We are a hostel and guesthouse in Waterford city in the sunny south-east of Ireland and we are looking for volunteers to stay for 1 month starting at various times over the next 4 months.
Waterford is the oldest city in Ireland (1100 years old) - it`s an hour and three quarters from both Cork and Dublin and well served by rail and buses. The city itself has lots of festivals and plenty to see and do. Nearby there are some of Ireland`s nicest beaches and surf spots at Tramore and Dunmore East.

The property is currently in operation, as a hostel and guesthouse - we need help with all aspects of the property - cleaning, changing beds, laundry, reception etc. etc. etc. and very importantly, talking and socialising with the guests. Sometimes we also need help with basic maintenance (painting and decorating etc.) particularly in the winter, or with covering night shifts. Other than t... more inside
