Our farm is situated close to a town called Templemore, in County Tipperary, in the heart of the Golden Vale; an area of rolling pastureland in the civil province of Munster, in southern Ireland. Close to our farm lies the famous Devilís Bit mountain. According to local legend, the mountain got its name because the devil took a bite out of it, leaving a small gap in the mountain between one outcrop of rock (known as the Rock) and another small plateau. The bite the devil allegedly took made this gap and the legend suggests that the devil broke his teeth taking this bite and spat the Rock of Cashel to where it now stands. We are also situated in close proximity to a range of popular tourist attractions like Holycross Abbey, The Galtee Mountains, Cahir Castle, Mitchelstown Calves and The Glen of Aherlow, to name just a few.

On the farm, we have many horses which we exercise daily. We also host a number of suckler cows, sheep and dogs on our farm.

Daily duties include feeding... more inside

hello helpers
looking for help ASP
please read this profile fully before sending me a personal message :)
Do you know that hosts can see how many messages you send, how long the messages are and to who you sent them to! (we cant see the messages though) if you send a lot of messages the same day this tells hosts a lot about how serious you are in your request to come :)

last minute requests suit me fine, i don't plan too far ahead.
i have a little 3 year old girl called Alma and she will be staying with me a few days a week (normally on weekends). if you are good with kids its a plus.

i am looking for people who i would like to spend time with. someone with enthusiasm, common sense and the ability to do sometimes physical manual work.
artistic and creative helpers are extra welcomed.

basically i am looking for someone who wants to learn by doing and is not afraid of work.
i enjoy having helpers but i prefer helpers who are interested in what i am doing are and are ... more inside

Hi,
I live in a modern bungalow, high on the Knockmealdown mountains, called "THE VEE", a very scenic area, covered in wild rhododendrons which flower May/ June. I have quite a lot of land and a large selection of animals. 2 horses, 1 donkey, 11 dogs of which 3 are young, 5 cats and lots of chickens, 13 ducks and a few guinepigs, 6 large pet lambs which have had 6 lambs this year.

I have two children who live and work in manchester. they visit when they can. My mother stays here permanently and is a great baker of scones and pies. She loves playing cards and word games, ideal for learning the language

I am not organic as only been here 3 years , I do 1/2 and 1/2, where I can. I try to keep things economic friendly and am aware of my carbon footprints.

I have a number of small ongoing projects which I need help with in preparation for winter. Last year we built a log cabin so this year I have nearly finished building a toilet and shower. I also need help painting as th... more inside
