MARCH 2020 onwards

We are an English couple who have lived in France for 14 years. We live in a partly renovated an old stone cottage in the middle of rolling vineyards in historic Gascony, in the sunny Midi-Pyrenees with our 9+ rescue dogs, chickens and ducks.

We are a high energy household and seek like minded volunteers to help us in our busy lives. Everyday tasks include looking after the dogs -walking, grooming, feeding, kennel cleaning & picking up poo - and the hens and ducks - feeding, cleaning, egg collection etc; helping with meal preparation and washing up.

We are keen to progress our house renovation and current projects include pointing walls, plastering / dry lining, painting & decorating, making shutters, tiling, plumbing and general electrics. So anyone with experience in building projects and general DIY (masonry, carpentry, electrics etc) is always welcome...as are practical people keen to assist and learn.

As well as renovating our property we also ar... more inside

Hello everyone !

We are a enthousiastic Dutch family with 6 happy young homeschooled children.
We like to share our life with motivated people willing to help us !
People who like to be involved and to share.
We have an small organic fruit farm in the East Pyrenees. A big vegetable garden, lots of land to maintain, wood to cut, animals to take care of, a old big mas to restaurate, and many many dreams.....

Our house, which is alongside a beautifull river with natural swimming pools , is some 10 km away from the nearest village. There are 60 hectares of land stretching way up into the wild mountains.
We have many animals; horses, donkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, rabbits and our sweet wild pig.
We make organic bread and jams.
And in summer time we have a small scale camping a la ferme. Tents and small houses.
We really appreciate help at the moment with renovation projects, working in the fields, and taking care of the animals! Socialising with our children (aged 4, 6, 8... more inside

Having now moved on from our bed and breakfast, in which we were lucky enough to host for some wonderful people, we have now started a new project by the river gardon, just upstream from the world famous "Pont du Gard" unesco monument.
We'd very much appreciate help in making this new place into something special, and hope to get to know some new and interesting friends on the way.

If that appeals to you, please get in touch
Update:
Having now spent sometime getting our garden started and water hole installed, we are getting on with various projects in the garden and outbuildings, with the view to eventually becoming autonomous, any gardening experience helpful, or being able to wield a spade.

We now have helpers for March and April 2020, so the earliest we can take more is the middle of May. DIYers, gardeners, carpenters will all be welcome.
Hosts.. We are English.John and Barbara, retired teachers.
We have owned our property, not a farm, more of a very large garden, since 1989. We now spend half the year here.We have much less energy but still need to keep on top of a productive garden and continue renovations. We have catered for vegans, vegetarians, celiacs and other needs/preferences. We try to be organic gardeners and be self-sufficient with fruit and veg. We keep ducks for eggs and have a large polytunnel.

Broadband wi-fi is present on site. Bicycles are available.

We aim for self-sufficiency without being extreme. We grow, harvest, and try to conserve any excess. This means bottling and drying produce later in the season.
The crops include asparagus, beans, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, lettuce, potatoes, tomatoes, spinach, kiwi,cherries,peaches,apples... more inside
