I have a vacation rental cabin (North Valley Huts) for backcountry recreation. As well as a sauna and caretaker cabin. The property is located in Retallack, 15 minutes from the small towns of New Denver and Kaslo. 1 hr, 20min North of Nelson. The property is adjacent to Goat Range Provincial Park with many backcountry skiing, mountain biking, hiking opportunities as well as easy walks, cross country skiing and swimming in nearby lakes.

I am looking for volunteers to help maintain the property & cabins or summer yardwork & landscaping
I also need help stocking up on firewood and doing snow removal in the winter.

Accommodation for short term helpers is usually my vacation rental cabin with your own kitchen & outhouse. The property only has solar power, so internet and power are not unlimited, but are always available when needed. Separate sauna/shower building.

Sometimes, I am also looking for caretakers to stay in my cozy caretaker cabin which is very well setup with... more inside

We are located a few minutes outside of beautiful Golden, BC. Minutes away from some of the best rafting, mountain biking and skiing around. We have an awesome opportunity for anyone wanting to learn more about Eco home building or starting a homestead from scratch. We purchased a 8 acre property that was completely forested a few years ago and have built our Eco home that we just moved into just over a year ago. Things are still under construction in many areas of the property.
We are able to offer a self contained 21' trailer with own kitchen and bathroom to one person or possibly a couple that are good with their hands and enjoy working outside. In exchange for 4 hrs work per day we will provide comfortable accommodation and all meals. There is also a wood fired hot tub to relax in. Work would involve assisting with building projects, some landscaping and gardening. There is flexibility to work longer some days and have some days off in order to relax or explore the area.

If you like mountains, wildlife and exercise and you are interested in a true country experience this is the place to be. We would welcome any help and would love people to share their organic knowledge with us. No experience is necessary just enthusiasm and a love of the outdoors. Throughout the year we have a wide variety of tasks to do.
In March and April the cows are calving and we often complete some small building projects. In May we are preparing the fields for planting; there is ploughing, discing, seeding, picking rocks and setting up the irrigation system. We also plant the large vegetable garden in May and June. For the rest of the summer we are haying, moving irrigation pipes twice daily, building and fixing fences, gardening, hand pulling invasive weed species, and on checking the cattle, harvesting garlic, sometimes traveling to the Farmer`s Market on saturdays
There are tasks for all skill levels and strengths so don`t be afraid to join us.

Stay in an 18` travel trailer or a room in the house. Use bathroom and shower in the house. Must be fragrance free and use my unscented soaps.

The trailer has a fully-functional kitchenette with microwave, fridge, small oven, and sink. Or use the kitchen in the house with more counter space, more fridge space, and a full oven.

Our house is on 1/2 acre on a quiet road with only about 4 neighbouring houses. Water is straight from a creek. Swimming and river floating are a 10 minute walk away and there`s lots of hiking in the area. Tons to explore! Mushroom picking, kayaking, hot springs...

We expect one full day of work per week and the rest of the week is yours to enjoy. Alternatively, we can provide meals in exchange for 20 hours/week.

Help needed with:

- Build a small set of stairs
- Dig a ditch
- Fix fencing
- Repaint
- Move furniture/appliances
- Mow/weed whack
- etc...

Welcome to a beautiful pastoral acreage and home in the West Kootenays. surrounded by the Purcell and Selkirk mountains. adjacent to Kootenay Lake. The acreage is half treed and the remaining is home front, orchard, pasture and gardens. I only have a few chickens at this point. I farmed intensely for years and am now taking it easier. I actually would like to have some sheep. just don`t feel like taking on more responsibilities without some added support. Ideally I would love to connect with a gentleman who would like to live here on a year round basis for the position of assistant and caretaker. He must speak English and be prepared to consent to a criminal record check. SO- work description is gardening, fencing, light carpentry, lawns, flower beds, pruning trees, harvesting food. non-smokers, only. only light or non alcohol consumption no drugs please.
