Not Accepting New Helpers At The Moment. Thanks

Hello Helpers,

We are a retired couple recently moved to Quadra Island which is a short ferry ride from Campbell River, and are in the process of creating a serene oasis on our 3 acre property. We would like to invite motivated, engaging, happy helpers to give us a hand with all manner of manual labour.i.e. preparing the land for a veggie garden and improving what is here already.

Being "morning" people, we prefer helpers who greet the day with good humor and positive energy.

We request 25 hr per week in the mornings. Lunch is eaten together, leaving afternoons free for exploring our trails, lakes, beaches, climbing rocks and quaint village. We provide food for breakfast and supper and it's casual so you can eat when you it suits you.
We also have kayaks and a canoe you are welcome to use. If you wish to stay on the property, hang out on the dock, and watch marine life, (seals, otters, porpoise, mink and tons of bird l... more inside

We are a family of four with two super cute young girls aged two and four. We live on a little property that requires a fair amount of maintenance as it is in the growing stages. We have about 25 fruit trees that we recently planted, two vegetable and berry gardens, and quite a number of flower beds and a big swimming pond which require a bit of maintenance. There is also a large area of lawn that needs occasional mowing. If there is a special somebody interested in having an incredible experience in a fantastic location on Vancouver Island for a few weeks, we would be thrilled to host you! Your responsibilities would include gardening, weeding, fruit harvesting, algae removal, and care of our two children if everybody feels like you are a good fit! Hours of work would probably be 2-4 hours per day, 4 to 5 days a week, perhaps for several weeks? This could be negotiated. You would have your own room and a bathroom that others use only occasionally. The home is beautiful and close to... more inside

Come experience life off-grid!

Lasqueti Island is a unique off-grid island with passenger only ferry service and hundreds of feral sheep. It`s a pretty fantastic place, with a great community of rugged, quirky characters and beautiful mossy forests, rocky bluffs, beaches and wetlands for you to explore in your time off, plus (depending on the season and how long you stay), there is the option of going to dance and yoga classes and/or the community sauna 2x/week, plus various fun seasonal community events like ArtsFest, Firefighters Picnic and the Fall Fair. June-September there is a weekly market on Saturdays. We`ve also got lots of great books on hand. The property has a pond (great for swimming in warmer weather) and backs on to public land you can hike through down to the ocean. The island has some of the largest tracts of remaining mature coastal Douglas fir forest and we see deer and feral sheep, (harmless, small) snakes, frogs and toads, eagles, ravens and lots of other ... more inside

Hi, I'm Emma and my husband is Rob. I'm originally from Wales Uk and started my little farm a couple of years ago. I'm slowly but surely growing and developing.
We raise sheep, Pig's, chickens, quail and rabbits. We hope to also develop into produce.
Duties will include animal care and maintainence, fencing, building and general labour. We are very small so these duties are not overly extensive daily hours may vary but will be under 5 hours a day in exchange for food and accommodation.
Although remote this is a wonderful location on a tiny island called alert bay, surrounded by ocean, mountain views and spectacular beauty and amazing wildlife such as whales, sea lions, seal, dolphins, porpoises etc. It is a unique and friendly community with rich history and cultural heritage. If you are looking for wild evenings and bustling city life then this is not the right place. If you love the outdoors, animals and nature then it's paradise.
Kayaking, whale watching, fishing, hiking ... more inside

We own and operate an off-grid, water access only retreat that we built ourselves, on a small 3 acre island on the Sunshine Coast BC. We have solar and wind power, rain water collection and composting toilets. We host a maximum of 6 paying guests at any one time, from April to October each year. All guest information is on our website. We would appreciate help with general maintenance (chopping wood, cleaning boats, kayaks, carpentry, gardening) cooking, cleaning and help with our local Community Hall, in exchange for food and lodging. Experience with boats and a pleasure craft licence would be useful. We're pretty flexible around hours but would appreciate the equivalent of 5 hours per day.

Our place is remote, water access only, and our nearest village is Egmont on the Sunshine Coast, which is 20 mins by boat. The nearest "town" is Maderia Park, a 40 min drive from Egmont. The area is a seasonal tourist community, and an area of natural beauty, with kayaking and hiking popular ... more inside

We are looking for help in our Micro-Vineyard and garden. We have a great little property on Vancouver Island, close to the town of Sidney and Victoria, with hiking trails nearby and access to the beach right across the street where you can catch beautiful ocean sunsets!

The help we are looking for includes anything from picking grapes, spraying vines (with a backpack sprayer, all organic sprays), cleaning buckets, crushing grapes, racking juice in tanks, pruning vines, rototilling, general vineyard labour. Also, weeding in the garden, planting, building simple farm structures such as gardening plots.
Potentially helping with cooking some dinners and cleaning.

We have a bedroom downstairs where you will have your own privacy and access to your own bathroom. The bathroom is only used by us when we are in the winery area but mostly it will be your own space.

We eat everything but can easily accommodate vegetarians.

We are able to accept a maximum of 2 helpers at a ti... more inside

We have a small two acre hobby farm in the gulf islands. Our island is accessible by a small ferry that runs several times per day.

Our farm has horses, milk goats, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. Oh, and three children!

We do some gardening for food but our primary focus is sustainable living.

We need assistance with a number of things including animal husbandry, land clearing, firewood, farm chores, and fence building.

We expect four to five hours of work five days a week for a term of two weeks at a time.

In exchange we have accommodations in a travel trailer that will sleep two (you may also tent or bring your own trailer); one shared meal with us per day (and access to food for your other meals), wifi and potentially horseback riding if you have experience.

Our property has two private beaches, a communal orchard with apple and plum trees and is surrounded by a beautiful forest. There are opportunities for hiking, kayaking and swimming in the summer too.

We have been developing 5 acres on Salt Spring Island in beautiful British Columbia, Canada for the last 9 years. We are building new garden areas and improving those that we started over the last 6 years. A lot of the work will be related to digging new areas, planting, mixing soil, etc. We are also in the process of building a greenhouse. We also have a lot of wood to be chopped using a hydraulic wood chopper as well as stacking this firewood.

We eat very healthy with a lot from our gardens. We are mostly vegetarian. We prefer to take in one worker at a time.

We can offer you very comfortable accommodations with internet. You will have your own full bathroom and your private space where you can enjoy your breakfast. We will be pleased to eat our main meals together in our home. Of course all of the food is part of what we have to offer for your help in our projects. We are mostly vegetarian.

We are a retired couple and have a lot of energy and plans. No children.
