we have two hostels and a jungle farm that we would like to turn into a hostel/organic self-sustaining farm. we are interested in people who would like to stay for a while and help out depending on what they can do. most of the work is in San Ignacio and on the jungle farm by the river. We are interested in completing a earth bag hammock house in the hillside on the farm and growing some food.

Hello, I own an island! (Still can't believe it!)
I'm an English girl in her 30's. For the last 6 years, I have owned a cider/real ale pub in Somerset, England. I decided to leave that life behind in search of adventures new and that search has led me here! Since January 2014, I have been living here 7 miles off the coast of Belize in my beautiful new home, Virginia Caye. The plan is to start an island day trip location in 2015
To that degree, I am over here living on the island, literally starting from the ground up. I'm really keen to have people over to help with all the 'man stuff!' It's just me and my skills are somewhat limited.
We are 4 acres of tropical island paradise in the midst of the Caribbean sea. Currently an uninhabited (except for owner, volunteers) wild island undergoing sympathetic transformation to provide a island destination day, trip venue, with bar and food available.
Work has already begun and reparations have been made on 3 buildings, there is a solar... more inside

I have several hectares (acres) and I want to have a rergular volunteer farm environment. The land is over 14 hectares). The land currently grows tropical fruit and is in the rainforest. The land is attached to the main road and near a river leading to the Caribbean Sea. It is also near the Mayan ruins. The land is farmland without housing. The land is in the northern part of Belize a few miles from the Mexico border. There is rainforest wildlife near the land which will make for interesting viewing and photos. If the participants want to buy goods they can walk to the nearest village which is about half a mile away. The river can handle a small boat and will lead to the beach or Belize islands. The weather in Belize is hot and tropical. The winter months are hot with the lowest temperature not under 70F at night. Belize is an English speaking country. The daily activity will be mainly working the land and clearing and planting and monitoring new plants. Participants need license t... more inside

This is a locally owned and managed local drumming school offering authentic Garifuna drumming, drum-making and dancing lessons to both local Belizean families and visitors. We desperately need help marketing what we offer, to spread the word about our organisation, so that we can teach more people about the unique Garifuna culture and music, and stop it from dying out. It is also our livelihood. We have a beautiful traditional thatch building on the edge of Punta Gorda town, in beautiful surroundings with toucans, parrots, iguanas and howler monkeys all living nearby.

Ray, the owner and chief instructor, is a former drummer, dancer and singer for the Belize National Dance Company, and has travelled all over Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and also to California to perform. He is from a family of drummers and singers, and during your visit you will no doubt meet his parents and siblings who are also a key part of his efforts to stop his culture from disappearing. This is a small inn and restaurant located on an organic cacao farm, off the grid and dependent on solar and generator power. We have six rooms accommodating up to a maximum of 18 people but seldom have more than 4 people at a time. We are highly rated on Trip Advisor. We employ several Mayan folks from the village full time. The property is a birder's paradise, with two year round flowing creeks, many trails and we try and protect wildlife. Public bus service from Punta Gorda passes our entrance and the road is paved. Wifi is available at the restaurant. Accommodation for helpers is in a thatched single room cabana next to the restaurant/office/owner's house with decent shower and toilet next to the cabana.
