We offer a range of options for volunteers, both in the short and long term with varying hours of work during the week. A retreat located in a mountainous region (at 1400m) in Minas Gerais, about 100km from Sao Paulo (SP). The retreat is an ecumenical place that receives people interested in experiencing an alternative lifestyle, both physically and spiritually.

There are two meditations every day at the temple, and we expect everyone to participate. We offer four meals a day in the dining area. We have an organic garden and an orchard. We hope to receive people with experiences in these areas, but in general, we just need help with maintaining the place, taking care of the organic garden, preparing food, chopping firewood and feed the animals (cats, dogs, and horses).

We need 5 hours per day, 6 times a week. We offer free acomodation and all the meals. The minimum stay is 3 weeks, to maximum of 2 months.

Who and where:
I am Marcio, portuguese-swiss guy 37, living in a beautiful farm of 10hectares based on organic principles located on a piece of remained native Atlantic rainforest from the state of Pernambuco in Ipojuca. The farm is located at 35km away from the most beautiful beach of Brazil, Porto de Galinhas and 48km from Recife, Marco zero. I’m an autodidact person, hardworking curious by nature, which means that I’m very open-minded. Here I share my two passions forest and farming during week and beach and surfing on weekends. I have a dog and a few chickens.
This project started almost 2 years ago inspired by the incredible work of an other swiss guy Ernst Götsch, the lack of access to clean good food, the need to create a job and the desire to bring natural farming practices to the land, rather than conventional farming with toxic chemicals mainly mono cropping such as sugar cane around here.

What I do and how:
The land is old abandoned area still recovering from the s... more inside

We run an ranch located in the middle of the beautiful Pantanal, the largest wetland area of the world, with incredible nature and wildlife.

We take care of the goats, sheep and cows and train our young horses. Your daily tasks at the fazenda will depend on your skills and interests and vary per day, as does the workload. You will work together with our permanent staff that manages the fazenda, real Pantanal cowboys.
At the ranch the permanent staff only speaks Portuguese (basic Portuguese or Spanish is required but it is a good place to improve the your language skills).

We have a hammock and camping site called Xaraes Natura located about 1,5 km from the ranch where we receive guests. Sporadically we would appreciatte some help at this place as cleaning and guests attendance.

I (Olivia) live at the ranch but most of the time staying at the house with my child.

If you like children we would also appreciatte to help us with our kid. She is 4 years old and since we ... more inside

This 14-hectare farm is located in a protected area in the Atlantic Forest in Southern Brazil, between the towns of Joinville and Campo Alegre. This was once a dairy farm. Since 2015, I (Alexandre, 33) have been living there, trying to repurpose the farm by initiating the production of organic food, aligned with the principles of agroecology. I am also promoting the reforestation of degraded areas using native species.
Volunteers are welcome to stay at the farm in a spacious wooden-house where I currently live with my companion, Larissa who has been living here since last 2019. Rooms can also be rented for turists by airbnb.
Volunteers can engage in different activities, including (1) the production of honey (beehive maintenance, wax extraction, among other tasks not directly involved with bee handling); (2) the production of shiitake mushrooms (inoculation and incubation); (3) the renovation and organization of the farm house; and (4) gardening/horticulture. Besides, they can al... more inside

Recently acquired property where I live and have made the first steps in establishing an agroforestry system.
Looking for volunteers with lots of motivation to work hard in order to reforest one of the most devastated tropical rainforests in the world.
Work now is spread between (bio)construction of living facilities and planting. If you would like to learn how to establish a permaculture space almost from scratch, or are itching to share discoveries and the pleasure of learning from nature, you are welcome!
In the afternoons we can enjoy swimming in the lake, visiting nearby waterfalls, doing (acro)yoga, meditating etc.
We will share the house but have separate bedrooms.

Hello,

My name is Marcos, I am 50 y/o Furniture Designer and Photographer who lives part time in São Paulo and part time near the beach of Lagoinha.

My beach home is in a gated community and is two blocks from the beach, three from Atlantic Forest, and two from the highway. There is some physical work to do but most of all I need someone to take care of the house and host travelers.

My goal is to become a hostel. I am looking for motivated people with skills in construction, organization and with interpersonal communications.

I can provide accomodation in a bedroom, full access to a well equipped kitchen, internet, washing machine and clotheslines.

Helpers must provide their own foods and drinks.

It's a very peaceful, beautiful and natural place. You will enjoy for sure the beach and the forest near home.

You can do your own things - just need to take care of the house and the things inside.

I'll provide information about touristic places around.

This is a sacred cooperative community that offers an alternative model of living to the obsolete conflictual ways of the world, demonstrating the eternal themes underlying the majority of spiritual traditions: selfless service, persisting as love & forgiveness.

There are many doors through which to join our Gathering. One of them is the one you are accessing now: The Volunteer Program.

Hundreds of people from all over the world have been transformed volunteering with us, taking their learning with them into the world as more conscious, mature beings.

The land here is a physical manifestation of our common purpose on this earth. Our space has been artfully created by the 40 permanent residents and has been our home for the past 10 years.

We need hands and bodies to sustain the physical aspect of our community and we need willing minds and hearts to learn from our Model of Life, integrate it within yourself and bring it with you wherever you go!

We are a retired couple of age 66, a french man and a brazilian woman from Bahia state, who decided to spend the rest of their life to preserve atlantic forest (25ha) while creating an activity around farming and horse riding with friends, family, and visitors. The ranch accomodations and horse facilities are brand new and have officially opened in February 2017 with the objective to host up to 6 riders from all over the world and organise from half-day to several days rides on horseback. Coconut plantation as well as many different tropical fruit gardens are already producing but we plan to develop more and achieve above 50% use of locally produced food in the meals we serve on the ranch. We implement whenever possible the best practices for sustainable development such as solar thermal generation, rain water recycling, organic farming and value very much the well-being of our animals, and harmonious relationship with neighbours and local people,...
