We are creating a space to reconnect with the natural world around us for like minded and experimenting with tropical alternative farming.Call it a farm, a multi species-food forest or a micro community, a self-healing space or simply a place to live better. Dont expect a typical permaculture farm. We try to live in a different way to make an original, useful and real experience. We are learning to live with a higher consciousness and general respect and to share our ideas with other beautiful people who have a similar take on life. This family-like farm is situated where the misty mountains meet the Amazon. The project is made up of 2 farms within 2 miles of eachother. The smaller one is located on the big Napo river beach and has 1 hec. (2.5 acres) of permaculture, edible forest and gardens along with a wide variety of private cabins, glamping style, (also for rent!!). The upper farm has 23 hec. (57 acres) of protected rainforest sitting on an open cliff with breathtaking mountain... more inside

Location

In 2008, we had a vision of transforming a run-down farmhouse and 15-hectares (38-acres) of over-exploited farmland into a world apart from mainstream culture, where people could grow, heal, live sustainably and regenerate the land while living in community.

Rhiannon sits on the edge of a plateau with 360-degree views; clouds roll over snow-capped volcanoes and the sunsets still take our breath away! The sun can be hot, the wind can be fierce and the nights can be chilly – but with strong motivation, a wood-burning stove and good company, it’s a great way to embrace the elements!

Activities

The activities we offer and engage with are based on our 5 core values:

* Live & Work in Community *

We aim to create an inclusive environment where like-minded people from around the world can build lasting relationships. Families with children and people from minority groups (often LGBT) are ... more inside

** There are several large projects that the family needs help with right now, such as building a traditional style house in the jungle on a beautiful piece of property with two small waterfalls. The family would prefer volunteers who can stay for one week or longer, preferably a month. To help the family, volunteers must pay 3 dollars a day for sleeping in Tena s house.
Our family lives in Tena but we also have a farm in the jungle, about 40 mn from the city...
There, you will learn how to live like local people. We will teach you how to cook with traditional food and also about plants that we can eat and medicinal plants from the forest.

Hola!

Hi, we are a busy hostel in Quito, Ecuador. We need volunteers to help us with daily duties such as reception and light cleaning.We are not open 24 hours so you do not have to work the night shift.

In exchange you get dinner (vegetables, meats, salads) every day and a bed in a dorm room. You can use the WIFI and all our public areas. The working hours are five hours per day, 5 days, which means that every 6th day is off. Choosing your shift is pretty flexible.

This is a small hostel with a capacity for 22 people. It is a chilled out hostel in the historical part of Quito.

Quito offers a lot of activities for your leisure time. Explore the Historical Center, take the cable car and enjoy a fantastic view of the city, make a day trip to Cotopaxi, or visit the equator line at Mitad del Mundo.
