We are starting up an eco-garden in a village in northern Luzon island of the Philippines.

The place is very near Vigan UN Heritage Village. The climate is tropical and ideal for getting a good tan.

We need volunteers to help set-up and maintain the eco-garden farm at least 3 hours a day for at least 15 days. They will help in gardening and (a little) carpentry job.

We will provide for place to stay/sleep and training.

We are an animal shelter with two locations centered around the picturesque town of Kalibo, Aklan, Philippines. We have guest rooms for volunteers at the main location where you can do a variety of tasks, ranging from veterinary (primarily spay/neuter, treatments, diagnosis), kennel cleaning, dog training, dog walking, socialisation of kittens and puppies, educational campaigns at primary schools or organisations, promotion etc. While I can't vouch for our (local) staff, the founder and president is vegan (but he generally still lives in the Netherlands).

Staying and helping out at the animal shelter gives you the opportunity to meet people and experience local culture and sights that very few tourists would ever see. We're a small scale family-run organisation and our relatives will welcome you in their midst. Working with our disabled pets, like taking them to the beach in their wheelchairs, is an exhilarating experience not to be missed.

There is a wide variety of tasks, so... more inside

I'm Rick from Australia and in February 2016 I opened a Backpackers hostel situated in the centre of El Nido town, short walk from bus station and quick walk from ferry terminal. It's central location has the bakery, pharmacies, local restaurants, markets and shops on the doorstep. We organise boats tours, island camping, motorbike hire, scuba diving and transportation.

The fan rooms have double and single bunk beds at budget prices. You can relax in hammocks with beautiful mountain scenery or take a short walk to the nearest beach.

We are currently looking for help with general housekeeping, data entry, scanning/printing, promotions, possibly cooking for staff, etc. We are also looking for trades people who can do electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance.

Please send let us know what skills you have and what dates you will be in El Nido

Dear friends. We have a beach house in the amazing Nacpan Twin Beach where we operated a bar , restaurant and tour service and lived the dream for a few years. When our kids reached school age we moved back to Australia and the place has fallen into disrepair. We've decided to convert it to an AirBNB and can offer free accommodation in this beach paradise to the right person who wants to stay a few months, clean up the place and coordinate local workers etc to help you. Ideally the minimum stay would be 2 months and the person would have some building experience . The house is running on solar power at the moment. The mains power cable connected but not in use. Water is also connected and there is a western style shower and toilet. The house is very run down and the first week or so might be a challenge. Its a nice community of locals and long term expats there and I have some friends who will assist with getting you set up in the house. The right person could enjoy a degree of ind... more inside

Armed with nothing but my own vision, I founded a 100% Filipina-owned small business specializing in personalized tours and authentic experiences. A comprehensive tour operator that caters to the needs and interests of our international guests. Our goal is to promote sustainable ecotourism by contributing positively to our environment and community. We also try to set the bar in terms of professional client service that will separate us from the rest of tour companies in El Nido.

We don't own a big office in town, a hotel nor a boat as we try to offer all the best possible options to our clients. We also don't print any fliers or brochures to minimize environmental impact. We make use of digital resources to promote El Nido, Palawan to our visitors from all around the world.

As a socially-conscious small company, we are only partnered with Filipino and family-owned small businesses. We try to keep the money within the local economy to help in the development of El Nido.

On our Farm we practice organic farming with different permaculture aspects as well as spiritual practices.
Both have to go hand in hand to provide a harmonious living in respect with mother nature and our co-inhabitants.
We do daily regular meditations and Yoga if possible. We expect our helpers to join and participate. Basically, to show an interest in ones own spiritual development.
Some dogs, a cat chicken and a rabbit give us company and need some care taking as well.

We are still a small family consisting of a Swiss/Philippino couple with two baby boys, one is 9years old and the other one year old. We are also interested to extend our community to a bigger one with similar minded people.

Life is still simple on our Farm, such as outdoor compost toilet and shower, until we have finished our indoor versions.
We have dogs, cats, chicken and a rabbit. If you have any allergies or aversions, please clear details before applying for a stay.
We also have a baby l... more inside

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to look at our volunteer opportunities.

ABOUT US:
Our home is a place to connect with nature and within yourself. Our aim is to provide an area which is deeply connected to the elements and spiritual atmosphere.

We run a business in this area renting cabins which include periodic yoga retreats. The area is overlooking San Fernando City and the South China Sea and include spectacular sunsets and attractive surroundings. We have fresh air and we are away from all the noise and pollution of the city.

The land is owned by Prescilla who was born in the Philippines but has been living in America and various other places in the world and Richard who is American but has lived in the Philippines for the past three years.

WHAT WE REQUIRE:

- We have 5 hectares of land which needs maintaining; weeding, watering and grass cutting as well as small amounts of building work and DIY repair.

- We also have the need of some low tech social... more inside
