Ilam, known as the "Queen of hills" it is one of the richest districts in Nepal in terms of it’s bio-cultural diversity and the natural landscape or flourishing Professionalism in the Way agriculture especially in it`s cash crops sector. Ilam is also the most famous district of Nepal for the production of tea and well-known for it's Special brand Ilam tea,,

Ilam is the main tea growing region in Nepal. Practically every house owns a tea plantation and there are various factories dotted across the landscape. The tea grown here is very similar to Darjeeling tea across the border in India and is exported to other parts of Asia, Europe and America country as well.

Are you interested to spend your gap year, career break or extended holiday in Nepal. We have Home stay program in different part of Nepal naturally beautiful villages. Our main focus are mostly very rural area and poor communities. Staying with our home stay you will have great opportunities to learn Nepali culture, traditions, festivals, cuisines and way of living.

Our community projects are:
Teaching English in school: You should teach in community schools. The school run 10am to 3pm. You should teach 3-4 hours a day. Saturday is school off.

Teaching in Library: We have set up small libraries in different village for community children. We are trying to provide the some extra education material which are normally not available in Nepali community school.

Women empowerment: We are running some English language classes, skill orientation and income-generation training to community women.

This is only the second school in Nagarkot, nice Nepalese village in Bhaktapur district; a 1.5 hrs bus ride from Kathmandu. It hopes to provide an English medium education for underprivileged children. The school has 7 staff members taking care of its 80+ students - aged from 4 to 12 years old - and would benefit from any help volunteers can provide.

Volunteers can expect to as class helpers and also share teaching tips with the school if they can. Volunteers can also help beautify the classrooms murals to help the kids as visual aids during their school time. Becoming an independent class teacher is also an option for long-term volunteers as soon as they have a grasp on the school's curriculum and vision for students.

Welcome to our farm and family. We are established as small organic farmers with our parents since 1995, working with Himalayan Permaculture Center based in Surkhet (western part of Nepal). We are a permaculture family with two generation, three of us have our PDC but we are all invested in our land. We are five and three of us speak quite good English but our parent English is simpler, so you will learn some Nepali!

If you want to discover the traditional Nepali lifestyle and learn about culture and festival in the Katmandu valley, and also in the same time learn and share your knowledge about permaculture, you are at the good place!
Only fifteen minutes by taxi from Thamel (you can also come by bus). You are more than welcome in this nice place that looks like a village.

There is plenty of options you can help out in and you are welcome to work in any area that suits you best.
- Vegetable and herb garden. At the moment there is none but i have space for it, so if you are up for getting dirty and for creating a wonderful little garden full of organic goodness, then there is some fun to be had :)
- Room decorating. There are plenty of rooms in this house. You are welcome to get creative on my walls or with building furniture or designing or doing anything, anywhere where you have an idea for. Think of my house as your canvas.
