Our farm is certified organic. We (John and Michele) have since retired from commercial market gardening but are now developing the property with the idea of setting up a CSA. Michele is an Interfaith minister and a Community is growing around the Inter-spiritual gatherings that are offered weekly and monthly. We need help with this ongoing development. The work involves landscaping, gardening, carpentry, cleaning and a range of other activities. If you are interested in helping us, we would be very grateful. Amberley village, close to the wine growing area, is 6km from farm and offers great facilities. We are vegetarian/vegan and are happy to cater for strict vegans. The farm is 15 acres set in a pretty part of the countryside - on the edge of Waipara. You can walk to the river in 30 minutes and to the sea in 45 minutes. If you have your own vehicle there is much to explore here. We are 50 minutes from the edge of Christchurch, 25 minutes from Maukatere (Mt Grey), 1 hour 15 minute... more inside

We live very near the Selwyn River and Lake Ellesmere and our location is great for exploring the peninsula, and the local area.

We have two options available for potential people in regards to what we offer.

Option 1.
Spotlighting (or Lamping ) with my partner Steve removing Rabbits, Hares & Wallabies.
We can show you what a typical night out involves and primarily he requires someone to spotlight the animals for him and we can show you how we process them. We use no poisons it is primarily done by shooting or trapping - the ideal person would have some knowledge of how this works. Even though we are based in Oxford the work is around the South Island so you get the opportunity to visit stations that very few people have access to and this is generally 3 nights away.

Option 2.
As we have recently moved to the new property - we have a number of things that we require help with - setting up the new vege garden and helping with the ponies, chooks & dogs.
Depending on the time of year - we do compete in horse shows so if you love that sort of thing we are happy to include you :)
