UPDATE February 2020: We are looking someone to stay with us from around the end of February (our current helpers are yet to finalise their exact departure). We are looking for someone willing to commit for at least three months, preferably longer.

We currently require only one helper, but we will accept couples if you are willing to cover the costs of food and utilities for one person during your stay - $100 per week.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU:
• Own room in a beautiful house 12 minutes from the Melbourne CBD and 15 mins from the beach by train (we live opposite the train station). We are less than ten minutes’ walk from Yarraville shops, including the famous Sun cinema.
• Mostly organic food – includes all meals and snacks except ‘special treats’ and alcohol – however, if we are having a beer or a wine, we always share. We’ll pay for the food, but you’ll prepare a lot of it as part of your hours.

We have helpers most of the time here and one has just left to take up a paid position milking on a dairy farm in South Australia .

At the moment we need people to help paint some rooms in the house and to clean the dairy each morning.

WHAT DO YOU GET FROM HELPING HERE AND SHOWING THAT YOU ARE A GOOD WORKER????? YOU get a REFERENCE from us , which is an AUSTRALIAN reference and will lead to LOTS of other paid work-whether you are planning on staying for good in Australia or simply working your way around as a tourist.

BUT... We NO LONGER TAKE HELPERS WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND FARM LIFE. You can't learn farming in a week, so if you have experience with rural living OUTDOORS then we would like to hear from you.

We live on a farm which provides a great deal of our food. We always have meat ( chicken, pork, beef, lamb) in the freezer and eggs ( duck , guinea fowl, pheasant, hen) and goat milk. We also grow vegetables.

We have fabulous food every day - Thai curries, p... more inside

As a young family we moved into this beautiful property just over a year ago. Our dream is to be self-sufficient while being able to respect and protect the native eco-system that Australian bush has to offer. We are learning as we go the principles of permaculture. We are trying to use native plants as much as possible. We are hoping to reach one day zero waste.

We are looking for one or two volunteers or 2 couples (there is 1 double bed and a queen) at a time to help in our garden and veggie patch using permaculture and bio-dynamic principles, looking ... more inside

House and garden block next to the Diamond Creek and reserve. We have a very small scale organic garden looking to expand. In order to do so I'm looking for some help with digging holes and building a hobbit fence with bricks, mudbricks and wood, see photos. You will have your own small room with queen bed, wifi, shared bathroom and meals we can plan together. A lovely walk to shops & public transport.

We have a beautiful hillside garden and paddocks on the Strathbogie plateau near the little town of Strathbogie.
I have been spending time interstate caring for my mother. So maintenance on the house and cottage and garden has been a little neglected.
I would love some help with Watering weeding and cutting out dead plants ,updating plumbing and some simple carpentry jobs. If that seems doable for you and you would like some time in the beauty and space of the hills, contact me. You could stay in the house or in a tent in the orchard. We have a modest vegetable garden a little dog and a couple of goats, swimming spots, bush walks and like to play music, practice yoga and Qi gong.
