Hi there - we have 5 beautiful acres on Mt Mee with an assortment of animals, including 2 dogs, 9 sheep, a goat, chickens, geese and ducks. The land is reasonably low maintenance, plenty of lush lawn (we have a ride-on mower, tractor and a golf cart) native trees, huge dam that has a pier setup. We have a decent size aquaponic setup that is easy peasy to monitor and feeds us plenty. We have a beautiful quiet property and are located 15 minutes from the closest town Dayboro, and an hour to the city and airport. We`re trying to set ourselves up to be self sustainable and use some permaculture principals. Our animals are our friends and not being raised for consumption - we are vegan though we do have happy healthy free range hens and are happy to eat their offerings :-). We have internet connection, no landline, no town water and no rubbish pickup. We use our own harvested rainwater for house use and dam water for the garden and animal ponds/drinking water. We have a few restauran... more inside

We have a 4 bedroom historic home in a village called Mt Molloy ( pop 236 ) .35 mins inland from Port douglas ( gateway to the Great Barrier Reef ), 30 mins from Mareeba and 90 mins to Cairns.
I have just moved back in to continue restoring the property ( both kids now living in the city)
after travelling around Australia for the last year.
Our gardens back onto a reserve with ponds and trees , down to the creek. Mt Molloy is famous for its' abundant birdlife and there are lots of bush tracks to explore .
We had an organic vegetable garden ( now overgrown) , and need help with garden maintenance , painting ,houshold chores ,a particular plumbing job , carpentry ,landscaping and helping me get the property ready as an Airbnb .
The water in Mt Molloy comes from the mountains and there are beautiful local creeks to swim in , and an old fashioned local pub that has live music every week .

We have an acreage property in the heart of Eumundi that needs Tender Loving Care in the extensive gardens and yard. We have recently moved in to this property after having it as a rental and are in the process of restoring a granny flat for helpers, unpacking and taming the grounds.

Accommodation is a separate camper van with double bed. The van at this stage has only sleep facilities, kitchen is in the main house with 3 meals supplied on work days. Separate toilet and shower to family is available.

One of your jobs may be the restoration of the van as it has fallen into some disrepair (surface rust, also needs a good clean out inside).

Eumundi is a delightful, quiet town, an easy 5 minute walk from the property, only 20 kms to the beautiful Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast. We can collect you from the train in Nambour by arrangement, or from the train or bus stop in Eumundi.

We are a middle-aged couple recently moved to Cairns. We have bought an old house which we are slowly renovating.
We are offering free accommodation and basic breakfast in return for 3 hours work per day. You will prepare your own breakfast.
We don't have a minimum or maximum amount of time you can stay, though we aim for 1-2 weeks. You are welcome to leave at any time, as you feel. We can ask you to leave any time too.

The renovation work will vary; e.g. painting, scraping, floor sanding, general labouring with whatever is going on. When there is no renovation there is plenty of yard work, weeding, mowing, edging, as well as general housework.
We live 14km south of the city. Our house is about 200m from a bus stop and exactly one kilometre to the local shopping centre.
We are easy going people who love music [blues, dubstep, electroswing, reggae, stoner rock], motorbikes and animals. John and I are both members of FNQ Wildlife Rescue and are vaccinated to work with bats an... more inside
