We run a small beef cattle farm in the Barossa Valley as well as a guesthouse with gardens, 36 tree fruit orchard plus a vegetable garden.

We are an easy going family of four with two teenage children plus a couple of Golden Retreivers.

When we are not running the guesthouse, we are working the farm and gardens. The cattle are Black Angus plus a couple of stragglers from when we ran a vealer production unit. Vealer production in Australia is nothing like that of Europe.

We are minimum intervention farmers but use a lot of cell grazing. Much of our thinking comes from people like Andre Voisin and Joel Salatin. We are in the process of building an egg mobile.

Being in the Barossa means we are pretty passionate about our food and wine so our guests don't go hungry or thirsty! We would ask that you understand that we are not in a position to cater for vegetarians.

The work here is varied but not difficult. Farm work can include moving cattle, fencing and cleaning water tro... more inside

We, Maria and Georg, are a professional couple who choose to life on a rural farmlet as a lifestyle choice close to town.

We grow some of our own veggies, have some small animals to support the current setup. Adding to our tight knitted setup we have two independent children in the age of 13 and 11.

We offer free accommodation for help on the farm or for other hands on approaches.

As for us, Maria and Georg, we own the farmlet as a lifestyle choice and work on the property when time allows. Maria is a busy teacher currently on sick leave after knee replacement and I am a Mortgage Broker.

We have some native Australian animals with giant lizards and kangaroos, 2 dogs, plenty of chickens. I do enjoy my greenhouse with vegetables, building things i need, fishing, camping if time allows as well as hunting.

As a result, your help will be much appreciated.

We are always looking for energetic happy people to help out with:
* general gardening duties, weeding, grass ... more inside

We're looking for someone to stay at our place for 9 days while we have a short holiday. We have one 18 year old cat who needs feeding twice daily. Dates are 26 July to 3 August

Our cottage is only 30 minutes from Adelaide's CBD, and less than an hour to the Barossa. Situated at the end of a no through road, it is a beautiful spot. Our next door neighbours are organic herb farmers and always have international helpers staying, so there is the opportunity to socialise.

You will have access to a motor vehicle if needed. Aside from the cat feeding, we may negotiate some light work, no more than 2 hours per day.

We are looking for someone with excellent references and a love of cats, as Heidi is at a stage of her life that on a cold winter's night she demands a nice friendly lap in front of a crackling wood fire. Or if the sun is shining sit out on the deck and look for kangaroos and koalas.

We are located in the midst of an important estuarine area North of Adelaide on St Vincent Gulf. The tidal areas include sandy/rocky beaches, mangrove forests and rare red samphire meadows. The habitat is a sanctuary for coastal birds, sand and mud crustaceans, and nursery for the fish and prawns of which the Gulf is famous, including King George Whiting.

We are seeking caretakers with their own accommodation.

The property is located on an unsealed road off Port Wakefield Road less than an hour from Adelaide. The locality is so unusual and remote, (even though only 50 minutes from Adelaide), it has been used in a number of films, including recently RED DOG. The property is on the beach front, surrounded by native plants and mangroves that require rubbish and weed removal.

We need help with keeping the amenities clean, plants watered and maintaining gardens.
