We are a horse property that teaches and trains many classes of riders with their horses and have a very strong emphasis on showjumping and general horsemanship. We require assistance from a genuine horse lover who thrives in the outdoors and has a passionate thirst to learn.

Assistance with general property maintenance, gardening, tidying etc is also required, and the individual should be able to carry out tasks with minimal supervision.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a competent rider to improve your horse skills and depending on the time of your stay, to travel throughout Victoria & interstate with frequent outings to horse competitions.

Located only 45km from Melbourne, with access to metropolitan public transport, we are very conveniently situated to allow helpers to be independent during their stay.

We have one German speaking member in our family, however we are open to anyone who has basic English skills.

We are looking for a helper with excellent hors... more inside

Beautiful, soul-restoring, 2 acre property in a beautiful part of Victoria, Australia, covered by 63 chestnut trees, each approx. 35yo, with lovely rounded canopies.

Trees have been well maintained / pruned, enabling easy walk around under each canopy. The property has a rustic, but well appointed caravan, with elecricity, gas, hot & cold water, phone, internet, cooktop, fridge, microwave, regular sized 'double bed', shower, utensils, blankets, TV & more.

Each year we need one person to scare off cockatoos from our trees 4 days a week, each morning for approx 3hrs, and late afternoon for approx 3hrs. You do this by walking around regularly ,and throwing up sticks to scare them off. Then, they fly to other unprotected chestnut trees in the area.

I, the owner, do the other 3 days. It really is a great alternative to city madness. Get fit, have fun, smile, enjoy a beautiful shifting climate, meet great locals, kookaburras, other friendly wildlife, and be inspired.

We will provide food and rooms for 4 hours of work 5 days per week. We can pick you up from the train station so you don't need a car.

We are now back offering Helpx after some time off due to property renovations at Our equestrian centre which is only 15 minutes from Melbourne's inner city with a car and 40 minutes by public transport and 5 minutes from the airport - so you can always stay for a few days on your way to or from Melbourne.

We run a full care horse agistment and training centre with fabulous horse facilities. We offer daily riding lessons and hold weekend riding clinics. We also run a monthly sales barn where people can bring their horses for sale and we have two Warmblood stallions at stud.

This is a perfect opportunity for someone interested in farm and horsework in Melbourne.

We expect 5 hours of work in return for food and accommodation. The normal hours are 7.30 to 12.30, unless there is a specific project then this may change but usually not. This gives you plenty of opportunity to visit the city or surrounding areas in your time off.
