Offering a room with trundle bed and tv in 3 bedroom house. Bathroom/kitchen are shared (but have spare toilet). Backyard/lounge/dine areas communal.
The help required mainly involves babysitting and occasional housework (if any). If you have experience with toddlers and are a non smoker and flexible with time (as may not know in advance the exact times I need help) this can be for you!
Ideally your personality blends with ours, we are happy healthy sensible people who are interested in other cultures and love meeting new people. You will need to be reliable, honest and trustworthy and be familiar with typical toddler behaviour. If you enjoy cooking, bonus! Help is needed so I am sometimes free to run errands alone or maybe even go to work for a few hours or just taking a break from my toddler. I also have an older child who will enjoy hanging out with you after school sometimes and/or on the weekend at intervals. Strathalbyn is a lovely, friendly and peaceful country town and th... more inside

We are a family of mother and five children aged 7-19 living along organic / permaculture principles but we do not have a "working farm"
We have a small garden, small off-grid modest dwelling running on 12volt, rain water, combustion stove. Living is very simple but cosy and comfortable.
We have 3 Burmese cats, 6 horses, a jersey cow, 6 goats, chickens, wallabies, kangaroos and a possum.
Seeking animal-loving travellers who can look after the animals and garden for 2-6 weeks so that we can go away. The work would take approx 1 hour per day leaving you free to explore the island or enjoy the tranquility here most of your time. We are situated close to beaches on the middle north coast of the island, 30km from the town. You will need a car! We will spend a few days with you to make friends and show you things before we go.

We are situated on the beautiful Fleurieu Peninsula and have a predominant heritage listed bush block with flowing creeks, abundant wildlife and sea views. We are close to beaches, 1.5hr drive from Adelaide and 30 minutes away from the Kangaroo Island ferry. We live with our 3 children in our almost complete strawbale/ corr. iron house and are self-sufficient with solar/wind power and rainwater. We need help at present with many projects including our organic orchards, extensive vegetable gardens; ongoing building projects and bush care. We welcome enthusiastic helpers who have an interest in organics and/or sustainable living. We also like to share our interests in herbs, meditation, surfing, bush walking and other outdoor activities with our helpers. We eat mainly vegetarian meals and can cater for special diets.
