Spring is here so we are thinking about the fun of working in the garden! we will need help in the coming months.

We live in the bush in the city on a cute and very sunny spot on the Sandy Bay Rivulet. Our home is only 2 km from the centre of the city but hidden in a valley under the mountain. We are surrounded by walking tracks and close to lots of things to do.

We are keen to offer home stay to meet people travelling and to generally get some help with some domestic gardening, vegie and fruit trees and some fence work.

It would be a relaxed environment helping as a second pair of hands on these tasks. We have a couple of different bedroom options depending on the timing or a very funky retro caravan option.

We are a mum (social researcher), teenage boy (grade 11) and we often have an international student at the moment from Brazil living with us too. We are a home that loves food and conversation.

Let us know if this sounds like your idea of experiencing the rea... more inside

Brad, myself (Laura) and Malu our beautiful daughter have been living for three years on our bush block here in Tassie. We have built a shack and shed from recycled materials. We are now 100% off grid on solar power, providing our own veggies for 12 months and hope to get some fruit from the orchard this year. The land itself has a spring and an old quarry, a north facing aspect and beautiful surrounding views. The bush is 20 yo regrowth as the farm used to run cattle.

Our vision is an organic, sustainable farm/community to grow old on with our friends and family. We are into natural/alternative building and permaculture. One of our major aims is to reduce our waste!

This year's project is getting a market garden up and and running to sell chemical free produce locally.

We are looking for 1-2 people/couple to help with the market garden and learn about small scale food production and off grid living. Work days will be set each week with a total 20 hours per week for food an... more inside

Hi travellers

Our home and organic garden is in New Town, a northern suburb of Hobart. We are on a frequent bus route into Hobart, 10 minutes, or 5 minutes by car. There are 3 cafes nearby and we are 15" walk to North Hobart which has restaurants, cafes, cinema, music, pubs.

We live in a heritage listed home which we run as bed and breakfast accomodation. We are looking for help from September to December 2018: painting, sorting storage, general tidying up around the garden before our busy season early 2019. Suits single, 2 friends or couple. You would stay in our guest accommodation, twin or queen/double room, wirh bathroom, kitchenette/laundry. This is separate from the main house but you are welcome to use our kitchen and eat with us as you want. Non smoker preferred.

Our beautiful garden is organically run filled with fruit (10+ types), vegetables and flowers. I am a horticulturist and happy to share my knowledge.

We love meeting new people and cultures and are happ... more inside

My husband I live on approximately 12 hectares with most of it being native bush. It is not a farm. Sadly, we don't grow anything and we have no animals.

We are not vegetarians so we have meat with most meals. We are non-smoking, so NO smokers please. We also enjoy social drinks.

From the beginning of October we would really appreciate help with the maintenance of the house, yard and pasture. There is almost everything and anything to be done. The work may require using a brushcutter, chainsaw, ride-on mower, axe/splitter, garden tools, weed sprayer, and some hard yakka with a pick and hoe. What needs to be done is gardening, weed management, fencing, and building raised garden beds and some small building/renovation jobs.

We are happy to try different food so if you can cook, you are most welcome to share the cooking.

My husband is a building designer and project manager and works as a sole trader, and I am a public servant with a background in community deve... more inside
