***We are looking for helpers in Feburary 2020***

We are a family of four - Ricardo from Cuba, Katherine from Ireland, Mila our daughter, aged 6 and Lope our son, born in February 2019 (so a newborn). Ricardo is a physics lecturer and I am a sociologist, both working in universities.

We moved into our Victorian house on the outskirts of London around three years ago. We have had some wonderful helpers helping us restore and decorate the house in that time.

We would like to host someone who can help with general work around the house - cooking, tidying, and babysitting (with a parent present) - not intensive cleaning as we have a regular cleaner. Basically generally holding baby every now and/or playing with Mila so Katherine can nap! We also have a nice garden which badly needs some attention.

Due to the size of the spare bedroom, we can only realistically host single helpers.

We are a friendly bilingual house and have had really wonderful experiences with helpx w... more inside

Attractive rustic old Norfolk Barns that I have been developing, on a shoe string, since 1991. In 1997 I built an eco-cabin and extended it in 2004 with a 50square metre straw-bale,on rubber tyres buildingy. We have a reed-bed purification system, and have started harvesting water. There is a large vegetable garden which I have developed along Permaculture principles with composting on site cf. Thanks to a former volunteer we now have a wonderful polytunnel. I am a member of the Permaculture association which has always been a source of inspiration.Sadly I am without large animals For many years I ran animal assisted activities, but recently have
given the ponies and pigs to a wonderful project working with city school children in a residential setting, giving them an experience of the outdoors. cf Ringsfield Hall Eco-centre near Beccles. I am now working with two Norwich Charities welcoming people in recover from addictions, and this June we received our own Charity Number:1178... more inside

Hello my name is Philip and my wife is Allison . We have a beautiful piece of land in Devon where we look after and breed alpacas. We often have beautiful baby alpacas in the summer . We have some tourism here as we have two bell tents and a shepherds hut. I like nature and the outdoors and like to have interesting conversations with any helpers we have. I am also interested in Japanese and Chinese culture. We normally only take one or two helpers at a time who will live in a comfortable lockable studio with open views of the land. We supply the food and bed linen etc. The work is five days a week and is very enjoyable and variable. It will be feeding and helping the animals as well as some light farm work, nothing too heavy. Also some tidying of the tents. Please do not use headphones to listen to music when outside because you will not hear farm vehicles. Also if you need to listen to music while outside I do not think that this is the right place for you. Please contact me with any... more inside

Hi, we are John and Stephanie, semi-retired active hosts interested in history, art, poetry and folk music as well as farming. We are looking forward hosting friendly sociable volunteers so we can also learn about your life and culture.

Are you available to help us for a few weeks and learn more about our old-fashioned way of life?
Do you like horses and other animals? We need help with stable duties, field work, hedging, gardening and some housework. You will live in our home as part of the family which sometimes includes our son and elderly mother. In exchange for around 5 hours work per day (flexible) we offer full board and all meals are included. We cook good quality meals from basic ingredients and mostly buy locally sourced produce and are happy to cater for vegetarians as many of our meals are vegetarian. Please note we only accept non smokers. Our home is an unmodernised quirky Victorian farmhouse full of antiquity situated on the edge of a small farming village in... more inside

Hi I am looking for help on my organic allotment, planting, weeding and construction projects and general preparation for the summer.Clearing and preparing raised beds and creating paths and a patio area are the main priority. The area is 300 sq meters and is on a wonderful sunny slope.

I live in Sheffield with easy access to the Peak District both by public transport and car. The Peak District is ideal for other outdoor pursuits including hang-gliding, bouldering, mountain biking or general hiking.
