We are about to embark on an exciting new project. The renovation of a croft house into holiday accommodation on the stunning Isle of Lewis.
We also have self catering tourism businesses in Aberfeldy and Pitlochry, Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands. We previously had a guesthouse and have hosted happy volunteers for a number of years!
We plan to have six helpers during the course of this year some based on the Isle of Lewis and some in Perthshire. We are hoping to rotate between the two places and therefore would be more interested in any helpers wishing to stay for longer periods of time (although happy to consider periods on minimum one month). Couples or two friends together would work well for this opportunity.
The Isle of Lewis is in the Outer Hebrides, the croft is by the sea. It’s beautiful, remote and wild with amazing beaches and abundant wildlife.
Aberfeldy and Pitlochry are both busy holiday villages in the Highlands. There is loads of outdoor activities and there... more inside

We are currently looking for Volunteers to start Mid February who can offer skills in the kitchen and house.

The Lindholme Hall Estate is the home of Gomde UK. The estate is a 180-acre ‘island’, which lies within the Humberhead Peatlands National Nature Reserve, in the centre of Hatfield Moor. The Lindholme ‘island’, once only accessible by boat, can now be reached across the peatland via a one-mile single-track road. The beauty and seclusion of the estate make Lindholme Hall a perfect place for the practice and study of the teachings of the Buddha. Our spiritual director is Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche who is the Abbot of Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery
We have created a small, but thriving, resident community which manages the day to day running of the centre. When there are vacancies it is possible to join the community as a short-term or long-term volunteer. As a resident volunteer you would be involved in a range of activities, according to your interests and skills. We ask for 6... more inside

We are a small community being together more than 20 years. The four founders continue to share complementary spiritual, political and social values. For most of the time we are more than four adults, as we rent out parts of our properties, and our grown up children occasionally join us. Located in the countryside in the North of Scotland, with good public transport available from Inverness or Aberdeen. We are part of a vibrant alternative population attracted by the nearby ‘Findhorn Foundation’. There are always inspiring activities to do and join, interesting people to meet. You will be supplied with a bicycle and can reach the Foundation in 20 minutes. The beach and local town of Forres are each about 30 minutes away.
Mainly self-sufficient in organic fruit and vegetables, we manage around 2 acres of land, including a large poly-tunnel, large vegetable growing areas, and many flower beds. We will continue to eat together at least twice a week. On the other days you may need to ... more inside

**please contact us now for helping in March 2020 and beyond **

Come and stay with me, my husband and our daughters (3years and 28 - with special needs) on our small holding. I am starting a very small pony riding / grooming business for children and adults with special needs.

We have 4 horses, 2 dogs and 2 cats and live on 5 acres of land about 6 miles from the City of Bristol. There are buses available if you are coming from Bristol city centre, and coaches and trains linking us with most other large cites and towns in the south of England. We are very near Bristol airport and the village of ChewMagna (google it). We're also about 20 mins from Bath and 45 mins from the famous Glastonbury and Wells.

We need help some with the following:

*DIY jobs (painting and restoration etc) help with renovating our house.
*Helping with the horses (mucking out, poo picking the fields, and looking after them). If you have experience with horses this is ideal. ... more inside

Taking helpers March - September 2020

We, Mike 70, John 81, Peter 63 and Porage (the cat) 12, have been here for five years. The house is an old English farmhouse with nice neighbours and buses to local towns, train direct to London. We go to the gym at least three times a week, and Mike and Peter like walking and running.
We need someone to help REDESIGN THE GARDEN, cut the grass, prune trees, make a water feature, and dig, dig, dig. John is interested in interior decoration - stencilling and colour washing etc. Some of the gardening/construction is heavy work.

We are on the main line to London. The local gym has a good swimming pool. The walking scenery is excellent - Mike likes walking and running, and Peter goes swimming several times a week. We do not provide a computer for you to use, but we use WIFI all the time. The village library has computers for internet access free anyway.

You will have your own room. We don't have formal work schedules. We expect you to muck i... more inside

Our farm is a small, busy 23 acre organic family farm. We grow vegetables, fruit, herbs and flowers that we sell directly at two local farmers markets, through our box scheme and to local pubs, shops and restaurants.

The farm is run by myself Nathan and my wife Alicia, along with the help of my mother Muriel who lives with us. We have two daughters, 4 cows and a small menagerie of cats, chickens and a dog, who along with the children are more or less helpful at any given time!

Where we farm is stunningly beautiful but quite remote. The farm is situated in the small hamlet of Llwyndafydd, with views of farmland across the coombe. Cymtydu beach is just over a mile’s walk down a beautiful country lane, with easy access to Cardigan Bay’s protected heritage coastline and coastal path. Lonely Planet has named Coastal Wales the 'Best Region on Earth' to visit in 2012.
We have a very active Facebook page, where we post loads of photo's and stories of our farming life here on the 'w... more inside

We have a delightful bungalow in the beautiful Devon countryside with a large garden and peaceful location.
We are vegetarian, many of the meals are vegan but not always. Non smokers please.

Were looking for someone to help with our garden to tidy up and pull out the weeds...it will require strength and a good pair of wellington boots.
There’s fencing to paint (with water based paint).
If the weathers bad you can help with a few organising jobs indoors, but it’s mostly outdoors which needs attention.

We can offer you the cosy caravan with electric blanket, kitchen, fridge and cooker. The WiFi is very fast and you can download unlimited films. Outside there’s your own pretty sitting area.

We’d like 4 hours help a day with your weekends free. In exchange we’ll give you £20 towards your breakfast and lunch food to prepare in your caravan. We provide the basics like rice pasta and lentils herbs tea and coffee.
Monday to Friday evening meals, we all eat a home cooke... more inside

CICD is an international college with students from around 10 countries, situated in north east England.
We are a residential college so students, staff and volunteers all live here on site.
Our courses run all year around and are for people who prepare to go as volunteers to development projects in Africa or India.
We are situated in a beautiful rural area, in the middle of 30 acres of park also inhabited by our local wildlife (rabbits, foxes, deer....). We have a big walled garden where we grow organic vegetables and hold chicken, ducks and geese.

You are welcome to join us as a volunteer helper for a period of 3 weeks up to 2 months - or maybe more.
You will then also enjoy the life and team spirit of our international community! The daily life here is rich with different cultural activities.
CICD is a busy and active place and you can help with many different tasks in these areas:

Hi, looking for someone to help me upgrade my narrowboat (painting, woodwork). The food is vegetarian but fish is allowed!
Accommodation is basic, in wooden cabin and I live off-grid so water and electricity are very precious. I have access to Wifi via a mobile. In 2020 I want to finish building a second cabin with kitchen and bathroom and also need help with starting a vegetable garden.
You must like dogs as they live aboard with me.
I speak Spanish and French too.
Looking for someone to help on a canalside eco-build over summer..must like dogs as I have two.
Urgently looking for someone now to help as I have cracked some ribs. Looking for anyone who wants to learn about eco-construction with straw bales and woodwork. Must like music!!
