Hi, we are an older couple living in a quiet suburb of Melbourne, very close to public transport and about 25 minutes from the City centre. We have been involved with 'couchsurfing' for some years and one of our visitors told us about this site. At the moment we are looking for help from a single person, or couple.
The work is not hard but also not very exciting, mainly house hold chores, a bit of gardening and maybe some handy person stuff!! We would expect help from about 8:00-12:00 each morning or 1:00-5:00 each afternoon. Weekends free. We are happy to negotiate mornings or afternoons each day. We are also happy to consider a whole day of work in exchange for a whole day free if our visitors want to go on an excursion or do some extended sightseeing.
In return you would be offered breakfasts and dinners.
Guests would share a comfortable room, maybe a double bed or two singles depending on what other house guests we have with us. At this time you would be using the room wit... more inside

We are a couple building an earth house and would like to invite anyone who wants to learn about this building method to come and stay and help. We are building in Glenlyon, just 10 minutes drive from Daylesford (natural spa and tourism region of Victoria). It is a 1.5 hour drive from Melbourne, or you can get a train to Malmsbury or Ballan and we can pick you up. Glenlyon is a friendly hamlet and we are building on 1 acre, next door to an lovely organic farm and 3 minutes walk from a general store that makes superb lunches/coffee. Rural, but not remote. We live in a neighbouring rental house with a spare room (double bed), plus lots of yard space for a tent. If you would like to come and try your hand at building in Light Straw Clay, please get in touch. You can come for just a couple of days or a bit longer. We are at the stage of filling the walls, so the work consists mainly of making clay slip in a mixer, throwing that together with handfuls of straw into a ‘straw cannon’ and t... more inside

We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible. Our home is on a beautiful property located on a hill a short distance above the town of Yarra Junction, with views of the surrounding mountains. Our family is Angela and Andrew, two lovely boys aged 10 and 8 and delightful daughter aged 5 years. Our home is very sociable as Angela works at home and there are always other children visiting after school. We grow flowers, mainly roses, in the spring and summer and harvest, preserve and dry fruit from our orchard in the summer and autumn. *January Update! Videographers, Photographers, writers and graphic designers wanted. Carpenters + Tradies wanted anytime.
Gardenfarm is a beautiful Eden-like farm, designed as a Permaculture ecosystem, with a strong Japanese influence. Its in a glorious valley setting, with animals wandering happily, food forests and rivers, visitor cabins, and lots of thinking and action on how we can make a this world and life wonderful.

I'm looking for self-directing, observant and thoughtful travellers, over 26 years old, to work on creating a place people love to be in too.

Over Chrismas, we will be making a rammed earth floor in the sunroom-greenhouse.
Work includes carpentry, renovating the cabins, planting and looking after edible gardens, designing and creating clever passive watering systems.
If you like, you can also help Farmer Bob look after chickens, sheep, cows, and garden, and turning the produce into wonderful pies, quince paste, and more, for sale.

We have an 1861 ex school on two acres we are putting in organic gardens and landscaping including some painting
We are wanting workers for 5-6 days at a time.
The work is fun and we would prefer two people at a time.
At the School live Donna my wife and I we have no children, we are both just 50 and pretty laid back. And run a local newspaper business from our home office, The accommodation offered is new, self-contained and detached from the main house, it is quite spacious with a kitchen dining table and shower toilet bathroom.
We are only nine minutes by car to the beautiful town of Daylesford (Google it!)
We have kangaroos in the wold within walking distance as well as a public dam full of trout two minutes walk away.

As we are a journalist and photographer couple we are always on the road around our district and would love to share our special part of the world with visitors.

Both Donna and I have been backpackers around the world so no what it is like to travel!

Nestled against a hill, next to a state forest with a second to none view of the sea and surrounding farms, this isolated small farm, needs your support to grow a vegetable garden, pop up a chook shed and assist in the creation of a harmonious home environment. You will have you own room and there is also plenty of places to camp if you fancy putting up a tent.

From November 2018 we are looking for international volunteers who are interested in achieving the above. There is no public transport so having your own car is a plus but not necessary. If you have an interested in nature, native birds and animals then this place will surprise and delight you. The beaches and surf in this region are amazing as we are situated at the end of the Great Ocean Road, 40 kms south of Port Fairy. Looking forward to meeting you.

This farmstay is currently occupied by a lovely HelpX helper. Will update when it becomes available again.

Come and enjoy a farmstay in South West Victoria. We have a variety of helper exchange opportunities from working with sheep & horses and general farm maintenance to domestic duties such as helping us get our house and garden back under control! Food and accommodation included. Language exchange encouraged.

We are a family of 4 in an old but comfortable farm house with air con and woodfire. Helper accomodation is a comfy bedroom in the family house with all amenities shared.

Flexible duties, hours and perks such as fuel for your car in return for work can be negotiated to allow you to travel and explore the region. Best to have your own vehicle as there is little access to public transport and lots to see in our region but we can assist if you don't.
