Gerda & Eric Helpx
We have an acreage of land set amongst farmland (mostly grain farming) in Bannockburn which is approximately 90km from Melbourne. The closest city is Geelong, which is 20km away. Bannockburn can be reached by bus from Geelong. We are close to The Great Ocean road, Angelsea, Torquay, Bells Beach & quaint coasters al villages.

A little bit about ourselves: we are a retired couple who have lived in Victoria for the past 11years. We moved here from Queensland to be closer to our grandchildren. Our daughter & son in law are on the farm and we are close by to help out with the children. Eric has a sailboat which you will no doubt be able to go on weather permitting . Eric was a sailing instructor when we lived in France and is still sailing now and loves to share his knowledge and experiences with others. I (Gerda) enjoy spending my time in the garden, in the kitchen, and looking after my grandchildren & travelling around the world in between.

We enjoyed the c... more inside

About us:
We're a couple in our early 30s. After several years in Darwin and 6 months travelling Europe and Asia on our honeymoon, we finally decided to settle down in Melbourne. We now have a gorgeous 1 year old and are about to embark on the next adventure of knocking down and rebuilding our house.

About our place:
- We're close to the train and 4 train stops from the city
- Unlimited internet
- Your own space with a queen bed
- Flexible helping hours
- We will all move in the next few months to somewhere nearby so we can knock down the house

About you:
- A couple or two friends happy to share a queen bed (we're not accepting solo travellers at this time)
- We're looking for people who are easy-going and self-motivated. We like people who want to help out without being asked and ask questions when you're not sure. This makes our lives much easier while we're hosting!

[We have moved since last accepting guests back in 2017] We are two women (couple) in early 40s, with almost toddler and 3 year old. We live with a very active Gran (master gardener and farmer and cook) in Violet Town. We share farm with farmer Carey who lives in his Carey-van at the farm in Warrenbayne. Carey is a very experienced permaculture practitioner and all round amazing guy.

We live in a beautiful house with productive garden (1/2 acre block) backing onto the lovely Honeysuckle creek/reserve within a short walk to Violet Town village. There is a separate bungalow with garden outlook and own verandah for help-x ers (bathroom and kitchen facilities in main house).

PLUS we have a farm 15 mins drive away in Warrenbayne - 168 ha which we are just starting up (on Serenity's family farm). We have a small bio-dynamic farm in Hoddles Creek, about 1.5hrs away from Melbourne by bus and train. We aim at sustainability and mostly only eat food from our own farm. We love to cook and eat well and enjoy a full diet of meat, veg and fruit all off the farm. At present we need help with wood collection, painting, fruit picking and processing. We have 2 dogs and a cat who sleep in the house and a few very friendly sheep who donít....sleep in the house, that is. We accommodate our workers in 2 single rooms in our home. You have your own bathroom and wifi is available throughout the house
It is a beautiful mountainous area with lots to see and many wineries close at hand. Wine is also a big interest for us and we would be happy to share knowledge of wine if it interests you. We look forward to hearing from you.

ABOUT US
After living most of our lives in big cities (Paris, Lyon, Dehli, Melbourne) we recently moved with our daughter to a beautiful bush property just outside of Woodend township - 1 hour from Melbourne.
We are in our mid/late 30's, Maxime is 2 and 1/2.

We are fun and trustworthy. We try to do things the right way, are interested in sustainability. We are active and take time to enjoy a healthy lifestyle: cooking local and organic food, exercising (Yoga and Pilates for Caro, Futsal for Guillaume)...
We love travelling and meeting new people, hence why we are on HelpX!

We both work part time in Melbourne. Maxime goes 5 days a week to childcare in Woodend

THE PLACE
We live on a gorgeous 20 acres/8 hectares bush property that we share with the native wildlife: kangaroos, wallabys, echidnas, wombats, birds of all sorts.
This offers a lot of privacy -we can't see the neighbours- whilst we are less than 10 minutes... more inside

Lovely 10 acre chemical free property 1 hour north west of Melbourne.
We are looking for NON smokers 1-3.
We grow Chestnuts, Cherries, Apples and am in the process of building a large market garden. We are building up a Suri Alpaca herd.
We require mature help as we are in our 50's and preferably trade or farm skilled help on the property with a commitment of minimally 1-2 weeks stay.
Basic tasks are to prune and clear the orchards, handy man work around the sheds and house, and also assistance with my cookery business at times.
We also require trades men and there would be paid work when available.
Accomodation on offer is in our house or caravan however in time, hope to build a self contained cabin for our helpers.
On our laid back property there is lots to do however a very peaceful place to relax and go bushwalking from. We are 4km from Trentham therefore any helpers will need to have plenty of personal items and welcome to go to town with me when I go.

Hi, I'm Wendy :) I'm Seeking assistance either with horses or general garden and other maintenance on my beautiful 180 acre farm. It's in Victoria's Pyrenees region situated in a lovely valley with views, bushland, creeks, wildlife and lots of horses and other animals.

Looking ideally for experienced horse people - particularly those with Natural Hosemanship knowledge - to help with care of and possibly starting or further education of Arabian, Anglo Arabian and TB horses. If you are around long enough to help get them ready for endurance comps or sale that would be fantastic. If you are able to recognise and help treat any health problems (eg give medications, injections, dressings etc) even better!

My property neighbours the Australian Brumby Association so if you have an interest in Australia's wild horses and natural training techniques that may present an additional opportunity.

If you don't have this level of equine skill, there are also plenty of projects avail... more inside

We have a small 20 acre hobby farm approx 40km from Melbourne on the edge of the Yarra Valley. We have a large veggie patch and fruit trees and pasture which we try to run organically/sustainably.
We need help with firewood collection, weeding, grass cutting and general building maintenance.
There are many wineries in the area, bush/forest walks and cycling is very popular. There is a famous weekly market in the area and local general store and pub/hotel. Public transport will get you within 6 km of us and there is a weekend community bus, or we can pick you up.
Accomodation is queen sized bedroom in the main house.
We have airbnb people sometimes so bathroom facilities may need to be shared.
Help needed in return for meals and accommodation dependent on capabilities and etc. Eg 4 hours/day....
