Piccabeen Pottery is a little home based studio located in the quaint railway village of Palmwoods, within walking distance of the train line and the village shops. This little pottery and ceramic art workshop rests under a classic traditional Queenslander style home, with a small but native forest garden. Native animals visit regularly.

The town has a newly renovated vintage theme, with cafes, restaurants, village walk around feel, and all necessary shops.

Palmwoods is in coohee of the well touristed Hinterland Range, with rainforests, national parks, waterfalls, bush walks. In the other direction Palmwoods is fairly close to all the Sunshine Coast beaches, 15 minutes by car. Surf sand and sun most of the year. Public transport is available from 2 minutes walk away.

The hobby pottery produces gallery style stoneware ceramics on a small scale by Kari, locally known ceramic artist.

We have a 40 acre property located in the Whyanbeel Valley and adjoining the Daintree National Park and we are 25 minutes from Port Douglas. We have mixed crops, hay, cut flowers, rare plants, ducks, geese, peacocks and chooks. I am really interested in organic growing, permaculture, sustainable farming and agroforestry and apply these principals to the farm. We also grow a lot of our own fruits and veg. Our place is very pretty, lots of gardens, waterfalls, rainforest and freshwater swimming spots. Wildlife is abundant. No mobile phone service but we have wifi.

The work is mostly labour based and includes tree planting, weeding mulching, cleaning (outdoors), pruning. You need to be fit and strong and defiantly not afraid of getting your hands dirty or working in the outdoors.

I provide clean air-conditioned accomodation, all meals, alcohol in moderation. I expect 20 hours per week in return.

If you want to work more than 20 hours then we will pay you. You will need to comp... more inside

We live in a beautiful area, one hour from the beach, one hour from the Sunshine Coast, and one hour from the gorgeous mountain area of Maleny and Montville. There is nothing nicer than sitting on our verandah and watching the wallabies each morning and afternoon. We are both teachers and would love to offer room, internet and board in exchange for two or three hours a day of gardening and yard maintenance. We have been really busy over the past year and have got very behind on our five acres. I am a home economics (cooking) teacher and love to cook so I would look forward to you sharing dinner with us each night (breakfast and lunch supplied), and maybe some cooking lessons! We have a small indoor maltese so you would need to like dogs. We are non-smokers so we would only be looking for someone like minded. Our property is about fifteen minutes out of Gympie with no public transport nearby so although we would be happy to drop you into town any morning, if you had your own transpor... more inside
