We are a family farm who make our living fron organic farming. So it's serious for us - not a hobby. We welcome volunteers all year round who are interested in country life, farming without chemicals or gmos, and learning about working with nature.
Our main farm product is hens eggs, but and we are building up our horticulture this year adding four large polytunnels this spring.
We generally need help in the gardens, with our hens, in the house, with fencing and small building projects.
But, with our new polytunnels being installed this march we are especially keen for help this spring - March, April and May.
In terms of exchange we offer time spent in a beautiful farm surprisingly remote from the modern world yet still just four kilometres from the nearest town (and atlantic beaches); english-speaking family and volunteer companions; guidance and instruction on the day-to-day practice of organic farming; an understanding of the economics of making a living from farming; we ha... more inside

Thank you for taking some time to read our profile!

Since 2012, hundreds of wonderful people from all over the world have volunteered with us. We are very grateful for all they do. Some come for two weeks; most come for two or three months and some stay for a year! Others come back for a second, third or even fourth visit. It`s best if people come for at least 2 months. This gives time to settle in and experience a lot more.

We live in a small, traditional west of Ireland village which has a theatre, sculpture centre, nice pubs and lots of sports clubs. There are lots of hill walks and outdoor activities nearby and we are a 30 minute drive from the Atlantic Ocean. Nearby are three larger towns with public transport (train or bus) to Dublin, Belfast, Londonderry and Galway. The closest airport is 1 hour away, with flights from Britain and Europe.

I enjoy nature, people, animals, theatre, music, arts, community interests, as well as history, politics, peace studies and fai... more inside
