We are an english couple who have been living in France for over twenty years, with our two sons aged 20 and 16. We run an organic vineyard producing red and (sometimes) rosé wines at the property. Most of the work we do is manual and we do need help from time to time, particularly at harvest time, which is usually mid to late September/early October.

We enjoy having people from different backgrounds and countries to stay with us here, adding new experiences for us and our children.

There is always stuff to do in the vegetable garden and around the house, and cooking etc. Guests are more than welcome to cook should they want to, as it makes a great (ex)change.
We also have a small flock of sheep which started as only 3 but is now eleven as we have found no acceptable means of limiting the numbers....

We can offer accommodation and meals to anybody who wants to come and help us, in exchange for 4 or 5 hours work a day, on average.

In return for help in the kitchen or serving customers, I offer comfortable private accommodation and delicious food. And wine, of course!

Tasks and roles: Help in the kitchen, or restaurant. Someone with knowledge of brewing beer would be fantastic as I have just bought a homebrew kit.

Language: English and/or French with some English.

Nearest airports are Rodez and Toulouse. Train links are good and I will be pleased to collect you from the station.

Welcome to a piece of land about life in nature, which is slow, simple, pretty to watch.

We are Kevin (30, from Belgium) and Alice (30, from France) currently living on about 2 hectares of wild nature. Alice is currently working 4 days per week in an association which is dealing against social isolation in "Oloron sainte-marie". In parallel, she is studying naturopathy in Pau. Kevin is currently experimenting on the land, taking care of sheeps, hens and vegetables.

Here there are a yurt, a wood hut, a geodesic greenhouse, a vegetable garden. Also fruit trees, a ruin full of life, phyto-purification (pools to clean used water), solar panels and rainwater tanks, cats, sheeps, hens. There are also a large range of wild animals passing by, like frogs, owls, roe deer, squirrels, ...

If you want to meet with us and help us for a week or two, you will be sleeping in a caravan. Not far from the mountains, you will be able to hike (possibly with us :)), to climb (same), to play some... more inside

We are an easy going English couple with a large historic property near Agen. We have 3 'children', 18 ,20 and 21yrs who are studying/working in the UK and regularly visit. We are renovating the house and outbuildings as a gites project.

A lot of the work we need help with is outside, so any assistance with general diy, landscaping, gardening, pruning fruit trees clearing brambles, rebuilding stone walls, walking our crazy dog and keeping on top of the vegetable garden would be gratefully received.
Additionally, it would be fantastic if there were helpers with specific trades such as roofing, plastering or plumbing. We are currently clearing out cellars for new living space, which is tiring and dirty work, but out of the sun.

We offer you a bed, good company, delicious meals (we are not vegetarian and would find hosting a vegan very difficult) and a fantastic swimming pool. We have a comfortable double bedroom and shared bathroom available for our Helpx friends. Given th... more inside

Hello everybody,

My family and I live on a historic site called the Forges de Bessous dating back to 1399, off the Richard the Lionheart road.
Over the centuries it has been host to a multitude of activities, a foundry with a 70 hectare lake, a village on the front lawn, abandoned goldmines, underground tunnels, a historic monument. These are of the past, the future promises a centre for the arts.

The farm is in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the natural park of Périgord-Limousin which means there’s plenty of places to go and things to do locally if nature is you’re thing.

We are an English-Dutch family who’ve farmed the land for the last 15 years, recently we’ve decided to take the plunge and create an art centre. There’re so many things to do, all exciting.

The ruins of the historic monument are going to be turned into a space for artistic events and experimental workshops. (check the photos.)
A veggie patch to upkeep.
The old mill is to be renovated in... more inside

Hello! We, Gregor an Marianne, are a swiss couple (young aged "around sixties") living here in this wild-romantic area of France on the "plâteau des mille étangs". We keep horses, cats and a dog.
We need somebody who loves animals, knows or wants to learn about horses (occasion to ride). There is also work with wood and green space, vegetable and flower garden etc. And we should repair fences. Sometimes there is some help needed in the kitchen. We like to cook with fresh ingredients of the market.
Gregor has lots of technical skills and is interested for biking. And me, Marianne, I'm interested in nature therapy, literature, philosophy and photography. Please ask us, if you want to know more about us and this helper place. But sorry, it is not possible to bring your dog with you.

Hallo! Wir, Marianne und Gregor, wir freuen uns immer wieder über Mithilfe bei allen anfallenden Arbeiten im Stall mit den Pferden, im Garten und der Umgebung. Wir leben mit unseren Pferden, einem H... more inside

This beautiful, 2.5 hectare garden, set in the heart of Haute-Normandie Pays de Caux near the English Channel and whose light inspired the Impressionist movement, is called the Jardin d'art et d'essais and which can be loosely translated as an Arthouse garden.

This is not a run of the mill Help X destination. There is a real opportunity to learn and have a totally unique experience while staying in the 17th century Priory in the centre of the garden. Cécile Maitrot, the gardening artist or artistic gardener (she conforms to both), welcomes you to join her in this artistic gardening adventure.

Previous experience of gardening and some basic French are welcome but not essential as Cecile can get by in English, Spanish and German and will teach you all you need to know; the work, of course, changes with the seasons and can be a variety of brute force and delicate sensitivity but never forgetting that this is an artistic adventure and is open to the public. Help Xers are invited t... more inside

We need help with household chores in the kitchen, around the house and garden. It's a nice old house within minutes of the popular Canal du Midi and between Carcasonne and Castelnaudary. One of us is an artist (painter) and we are all happy cooks , who love to shares dishes and hopefully get some inspirations from others countries through our helpers. Somebody with some IT skills would be most welcomed.

The good life!
Immerse yourself in history! Come visit the maintenance and renovation of the castle of Bresson, the Renaissance castle built on the remains of a 15th century fortified house. Welcoming and transmission are the pillars of our project: passionate about history but with a resolute look into the future, Hugues wants to reconcile the past and the present by experimenting with self-construction and new farming techniques, by developing self-consumption and self-sufficiency, while preserving the solidarity and the world that underpin his philosophy of life.

Accomodation and food are provided for 4 hours of work per day, five days a week, and participation in the preparation of meals. You will be accommodated in the rooms of pilgrims (we are on the way to Santiago de Compostela) under the roofs and have dinner with Hugues and his children... Hem well... I mean with the Hugues, direct descendant of builders of this monument listed historical heritage. On the menu: crisp ... more inside
