We are a family operation with three young children who are home schooled by a Governess. Our main business is beef cattle farming, we run approximately 3000 head on 45,000 acres between two properties.

We are in a remote area of Far North Queensland, approximately 6 hours drive from either Townsville or Cairns. The closest access point for buses is Mt Surprise/Georgetown. We have a small plane which we use to travel between the properties.

The countryside is beautiful undulating eucalypt woodland with wide sandy creeks. Our wet season is Dec-March and it can be very hot during those months so bear that in mind if you don't like the heat!

Our work varies depending on the time of year. There is station work involving mustering the cattle, fencing, yard work, putting out feed and pumping water. Around the homestead it is more gardening, work in the shed, maintenance, housework, cooking and so forth.

We have donga style accommodation for singles or doubles, about ... more inside

We live in the small village of Kin Kin in the Noosa Hinterland on the Sunshine Coast. We have a small hobby farm with a fruit tree orchard and vegetable gardens. We also have a 10 acre hardwood tree plantation on the property. Work would include general farm and house maintenance as well as help with building and painting bee boxes. Accommodation is in a self contained cabin by a creek. There is a composting toilet and outdoor shower for helpers. There is a lot of wildlife on the property. Helpers are advised that you will probably see spiders and other creepy crawlies. We have been Woofer hosts for a few years now and have had quite a few helpers through and it's been great. We would prefer helpers with their own insurance and ideally a couple or two helpers traveling together. A car is an advantage as we are in driving distance of Noosa and Rainbow Beach. Pick ups can be arranged from Noosa, Gympie, Pomona or Cooroy. Look forward to meeting some enthusiastic helpers.

We have a B&B nestled in the mountains on the outskirts of Brisbane (30mins by car) and half way to the Gold Coast (also 30 mins by car away). Our home is set amongst 20 hectares of natural bushland and close to extensive bushwalk trails, yet we are only 10 minutes by car from a regional shopping centre, bus and rail transport to Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

We are actively involved in conservation efforts on our property as it is listed as having rare and endangered habitat. We also have over 75 species of birds formally identified here. In 2010 we established a private nature refuge with the state government over our property to protect it from future development and to enhance the environmental values.

Work generally involves planting, weeding, mulching, helping with housework and improving our property. Greeting and assisting guests and serving breakfasts.
Also feeding our horses, dogs, cat and hens,

I run a Hydroponic farm situated in the foothills of Mount Tamborine on the Gold Coast. I specialise in growing Fancy Lettuce and a variety of culinary herbs. The farm is surrounded by farmland and bush, yet is only a 20 minute drive to the beach at Surfers Paradise.

A typical day on the farm begins with picking the herbs and lettuce to fill customer orders. The orders are delivered fresh daily. Following the deliveries are other tasks such as cleaning the growing benches and planting out the seedlings. In addition to the customer orders, on the weekends, we sell our produce at 'Farmer's Markets' where people come to buy quality, fresh produce.

As most of the growing benches are outdoors the work environment is pleasant, with plenty of fresh air and sunshine.

I have one dog that 'helps out' around the farm and a few of the neighbours dogs frequently come to visit.
