Hi Guys

I live 4kms from Kerikeri Post Office. We have a double room with ensuite and seperate enterance available.
We are 500mtrs from the Waitangi Forest enterance with the accompaning trails and mountain biking. There is a superb 4 k walk into Kerikeri down the Wairoa Steam past a couple of waterfalls.
Lots of lovely walks, historic stone store, Waipapa Basin.
We are on the Te Arhoa trail and I have done most of the trail this end of the country.
HOWEVER
We have too many projects on the go and could do with help.
1. Build a roof out of timber and corrogated iron to go bewteen two containers. Dave is a capable professional boatbuilder but does not have time to complete the project. He is able to supervise people with building skills.
Actually the containers need to be waterblasted and painted also.
2. Help clean up and move firewood from a hedge felling project.
3. Mulch garden on a slope.
4. cook! We once had some Helpex people that cooked for us. It was wonderf... more inside

We are a french/kiwi family of 4. We are living between Kerikeri and Paihia in the beautiful Bay of Islands. Our warm house is in the country and we share it with Penny the dog, our chickens and cows.
We need someone (or 2 possible too) to give a hand with the childrens ( 22 months and 5 months) the house and the garden. We will love a french speaking helper because we want our kids to speak their mother's tang.
No need to work for us everydays. Wich mean that you will have time to found a pay job or travelling!! We are very flexible with the hours.
We love going out on the boat fishing or diving and having nice yummi diners with friends. Simeon is a very very good cook!!
The helper will have a nice warm room with a big bed!! Having a car is a plus because we are 25 mn from town and not on the main road who make it hard to hitchick!!

Cheers
Audrey Simeon Babette and Anatole

We would like help with milkings, feeding calves and odd jobs around the farm and house.
Previous farm experience is preferred but is not essential. You must have a strong empathy for animals as we take great pride in how we care for our livestock.

The property is situated 2.5 km from Matapouri Bay in a quiet valley. The land was farmed by the previous owner until 2018 but is now being actively regenerated into native bush. We are also developing a glamping site. There are many birds around, and one known kiwi within earshot.

Work may involve gorse and other weed control (no spraying), grass clearing around trees and planting/pruning depending on what is needed at the time. We are happy to work with your skills, interests and fitness levels.

Accommodation is a choice of the house or caravan. Leisure activities include swimming, tramping, kayaking.

We are a couple with 5 children (ages from 2-11) living and thriving on a lifestyle block.

Our long term goal is to become self-sustainable based on permaculture principles. We already have producing fruit trees, large veggie garden and animals. It is a small piece of land (2.7h or 7 acres) but, with the children, it is big enough to keep us busy.

We have 2 puppies, chickens, ducks, a friendly kunekune pig, sheep, cows and a cat.

We are meat eaters, however, we love our fruit and veges. Please do not be put off if you are vegetarian, hoever, you need to be aware that you may have to cook meat. If you are vegetarian please bring your own protein source.

We live 4km inland from the small village of Taipa which is 31km from Kaitaia or 66km north of KeriKeri. We are close to the very beautiful coastline of Doubtless Bay where you have stunning beaches such as Cable Bay, Coopers Beach, Mangonui, Tokerau, Houhora, KariKari peninsula and more. I live about 12km north of Kerikeri, in a small house with a big wild garden. A stream runs through it, and there are many birds and insects. Lots of unusual plants. So, I especially welcome people who are interested in plants, organic gardening, and the natural world. I have a dog and Araucana chickens, which lay blue-shelled eggs. It's too far to walk to Kerikeri, so if you don't have a vehicle, you may feel isolated, though I'm near the highway so it's possible to hitchhike. By car it's about 10 minutes to Kerikeri; maybe 15 minutes to Puketi forest; 20 minutes to beaches. There are also glow-worm caves, and hot pools, within about half an hour's drive

I prefer to host couples who are fit, happy, independent, and have good practical skills. Most of the work which needs doing is in the garden. There's also some painting to be done, and firewood to be cut, split and stacked. There are lots of half-finished projects - your help will be appreciated! The work goes faster... more inside
