Hi, we are an older couple living in a quiet suburb of Melbourne, very close to public transport and about 25 minutes from the City centre. We have been involved with 'couchsurfing' for some years and one of our visitors told us about this site. At the moment we are looking for help from a single person, or couple.
The work is not hard but also not very exciting, mainly house hold chores, a bit of gardening and maybe some handy person stuff!! We would expect help from about 8:00-12:00 each morning or 1:00-5:00 each afternoon. Weekends free. We are happy to negotiate mornings or afternoons each day. We are also happy to consider a whole day of work in exchange for a whole day free if our visitors want to go on an excursion or do some extended sightseeing.
In return you would be offered breakfasts and dinners.
Guests would share a comfortable room, maybe a double bed or two singles depending on what other house guests we have with us. At this time you would be using the room wit... more inside

We live just out of town, on a small farm, with 12 horses, 3 dogs, a cat, 4 calves and many chickens. We handle our horses using Natural Horsemanship principles.
There is always plenty of interesting work to do. We need help with mowing, gardening, feeding chickens and helping with the horses.
We are a drug free and cigarette free home, although we often enjoy a wine with our meals. We can cope with almost any dietary or cultural preferences, singles or couples. We have hosted many international students and visitors over the past 20 years.
We live out of town but we go into town 3-4 times a week, and we are partially self sufficient. We are happy to show you around our district and our multicultural town during your stay.
We are happy for you to contact us by phone - mobile numbers are usually best.

We live on a covenant-protected bush property in the Yarra Valley, that is incredibly rich in native wildlife. We have built a lovely strawbale house and are currently working on building a strawbale studio. Our activities include: bush preservation work, organic gardening and numerous sustainable building and green technology projects. There are numerous opportunities for bushwalking, cycling and just 'being' in nature.

Awesome location! And we love HelpX people. My family has welcomed many travellers and we have enjoyed their stories and open minds and hearts. It would be a pleasure to meet you!

My home is centrally located in Carlton North only 3km from the city centre and there are plenty of parks nearby. It is 100 metres to the nearest tram stop. There are cafes and bars only doors away. My home is a two storey town house.

The accommodation is in a bedroom/study with a single bed. I have 2 children, 11 years old and 13 years old and a dog (and 3 fish : ) ).

I need help with running my home generally: cooking, cleaning and childcare. Experience in all three is preferred. This would best suit someone who is interested in children and self motivated. : )

I am looking for someone for 3 - 4months, from 13th November until late February. I can offer room, meals and generosity for 4 real hours of work per day.

We have flexibility, so we can negotiate when you work and if you need a d... more inside

Our period 1920's Californian Bungalow is located 7km from the CBD. Northcote is a popular/trendy suburb and it's fashionable shopping strip is a 10 minute walk away. Lots of restaurants and cafe's to sample Melbourne's rich variety of cuisines and enjoy the coffee scene. The train to the city takes 12-15 min and is an 8 minute walk through the park.
We're a couple in our late fifties and are pretty easy-going. We're happy to cook with/for you when it suits us and will always make sure the fridge is stocked with fresh ingredients to cook and eat.
The jobs to be done are as follows:
- internal painting walls, doors&window frames
- external painting and preparation
- gardening/pruning
- replacing weatherboards
- laying wall to wall carpets
If you are interested we also have a country property in the heart of Victoria's Goldfields 104 km from our house.

- weeding

PLEASE READ THIS:
We suffered three serious traumas in 2017 and stopped hosting for over a year as a result. Is essential for us that anyone who comes to stay is empathetic, communicative, and has a high level of maturity. You do not need to have excellent English, but still willing to communicate on a personal level.

We live on a 4 acre property, aiming for self-sufficiency. We grow all of our own eggs and meat (chooks, cattle, pigs, sheep, ducks), a large vegie garden, & many fruit trees. We are almost completely organic, but not entirely. We make our own beer, make cheese, jams, preserves, etc, and can teach you about these if it is possible during your stay. Let us know if you particularly want to learn something, as not all things are possible all year.

Aside from our current projects there is always garden work (spreading mulch, weeding, animal care, fruit tree & vegie garden maintenance) as well as general household stuff.
