I live on a 38 acre conservation property (a banksia woodland with pristine wetland) about 4km from Capel town, surrounded by nature and wildlife. I am an architect and designer trying to live a more sustainable lifestyle. There is an opportunity to learn about the Australian environment, some of it's flora and fauna, gardening/permaculture principles, improve English skills, being resourceful, fixing and building things with hands and tools.

We are in the process of rehabilitating the property and continually maintaining the gardens, house, wetland and banksia woodlands. Volunteers are welcome to help on any of the following depending the time of year and desires/skills of the volunteer: watering plants in summer, weeding (garden or conservation zone), feeding worms, propagating & planting, help with renovations and construction work, recycling and fixing things like fencing, general tidying up and some cleaning. We expect guests to work a minimum 8-10 hours (1 day) per week.

We are a boutique lodge located on the south coast of Western Australia. The photo you see is the view from our place. If you like the country then you'll like Denmark- arguably the prettiest place in WA - certainly the greenest. It is situated in the middle of the Great Southern wine region and is also a producer of several organic foods. It is a tourist destination with beautiful beaches, tall timber forests and natural scenery. The region has many man-made and natural attractions. We provide luxury accommodation and a Day Spa and Hamam (Turkish Bath).

This is where you will stay. We will include accommodation- use of our staff kitchen/dining/office. We buy your food which you can prepare yourself in the staff kitchen. Must speak reasonable English. You have free wifi and use of the pool and we'll even allow you to to use our hamam (turkish bath with spas) sometimes.

Right now we are looking for a couple or a guy and girl or 2 people who can help outdoors so a little bit... more inside

My 'property' is named after the 70's TV characters that 'made good use of bad rubbish'. It is a 60's urban house (728sqm) that was all grass front and back and now is a budding permaculture urban farm. With food forests, chickens, wicking beds, african key hole gardens, bees and the home of the 'food is free Coolbellup' pilot project, Womble Inn is still transitioning but a great example of what can be achieved in an urban space.

The animals and I are at the beginning of the journey to live more simply, know where our food comes from, make our own soaps, toothpastes, reduce our plastic usage amongst many other things. It's been an interesting journey and many laughs at the challenges living simply presents. We donít always get it right but hey, part of the journey right?!

The house is situated very close to Fremantle with great beaches, live music scene, art galleries, and much more. We are also only 50m from the nearest bus stop that runs direct to Fremantle.

Most of the farm is currently leased whilst we landscape and establish a garden and renovate the historic homestead first. We do though have twenty five sheep and three alpacas that need daily tending, and are lambing at present. I also help my brother who lives close by and has about 300 hectares and hundreds of sheep.
Apart from care of the animals I need help with the vegetable garden, to finish some dry stone walls and general tidying around the garden and sheds, and maintenance of the historic shearing shed and sheep yards. There is some indoor and out door painting available and the need to drive the ute over the whole farm and pick up old fencing wire and any debris that has acculturated over time.

We are elderly but relatively fit and young at heart and work hard but enjoy what we are doing.

The property is between Northam (a regional centre) and York, a small rural town both about 15 minutes away by car. It is an hour from Perth airport. There is mobile phone cover.... more inside

My husband and I live on 6 acres of treed paddocks. The paddocks are set up in the "paradise paddocks" style for our daughter's 2 horses. we have 2 Weimaraners - large gun dogs - who are spoilt and live in the house with us. Our house has a bedroom at the back of the house where our Helpx helpers stay. It has its own entry and bathroom, although it is accessible to the rest of the house also. Because of the trees we have a lot of bird life around us.

We are about 2km from the nearest bus stop. The bus route goes through the suburbs to the train station. the train goes to Perth where it links with other lines to Midland, Fremantle Mandurah and Burns Beach. There is also a train which can be caught at Armadale that goes to Bunbury.

We are looking to host someone who is able to help with maintenance around the house for example carpentry, painting, paving, gardening.

We live on a large cropping farm about 2 1/2 hours north of Perth. We have sheep and chickens, dogs & horses and a large vegetable patch and gardens. Our place is guaranteed to be busy - but welcoming.

At the moment we are in need of some help with basic house and yard jobs, some simple repairs and work in the vegetable garden. We prefer that you have some experience with basic tools and repairs and are able to work independently.

It is peaceful and pretty here in spring, but be aware that our internet connection will be worse than you are probably expecting and you won't be able to tap into our wifi connection, so be prepared to be offline for some of your stay.

If you don't have your own transport, our farm is close to bus routes-nearby towns are Moora or Watheroo. We are a long way from the city and from urban comforts, but we'd hope that your experience here will be memorable.

For Helpx ers, we have separate accommodation available close to our house which has... more inside
