*Helpers needed from 19/20th December!!
We are shearing our sheep 21/22nd of December, plus hopefully will have some cherries to pick for our farm gate shop open over christmas! Looking for energetic, independent people who enjoy interacting with new people and children! Plenty of opportunity to relax and explore the Huon Valley and Hobart*

We are a husband, wife and 3 young sons farming family. Our farm is 1.2km from the township of Huonville and we are on the bus route to Hobart. We farm sheep for lamb, a market garden, cherries and apples using organic permaculture principals. We are after helpers picking cherries, sheep, at our new farm gate and general farm jobs. We have a house cow and have a beautiful river which we enjoy spending time relaxing in and beside. Spot a happy platypus! We are after people who love the outdoors, enjoy children and animals and are not afraid to get their hands dirty.

Accommodation is in a room in an old apple pickers hut near by our farm ... more inside

I am a 62y.o.man wanting occasional help with various tasks in producing apples. beef and vegetables. Also i would like to be able to improve my very basic Spanish and French, so patient people with those languages and some English would be most welcome.
There is limited public transport and i can help sometimes with short trips

We are a family of 4; Yves, Georgie and our 2 daughters (8yrs and 6yrs old).
We live just 25 minutes south of Hobart, surrounded by bush and wildlife. It's very peaceful! We have chooks and live with the native wildlif; beautiful birds, wallabies and echidnas etc.
We are really lucky to have many small bush walking tracks around the area from the house.

Yves is a fulltime organic/biodynamic beekeeper of native Tasmanian wildflowers and Georgie is a Waldorf teacher. We speak French/English in the home, and really value French being spoken with our children.
We enjoy a tv-free home (except for the odd movie),no smoking, and try to keep media to a minimum. We enjoy cooking, gardening, playing guitar/piano, crafting etc. We are happy to host someone who is interested in Tasmania, happy with children and helping around the house (gardening and cooking etc).
We've had many travellers stay with us over the last 10 years, and we really enjoy hearing their stories and sharing our ho... more inside

We have a large organic vegetable garden that we try to grow most of our vegetables in (although at different times of the year there is little to pick) and a large house block with many flowers and fruit trees. From our deck there is a wonderful view of Mt. Wellington. It's a great place for a cup of tea or glass of wine!

We are a couple in our 60's who both work mostly from home (a potter/pottery teacher and a furniture restorer/environmental consultant). Helpers may get to help at Salamanca Market with Jude's pottery stall and in the pottery studio. You might get to make something for yourself as well as learning some pottery techniques.

Mostly we ask helpers to weed the garden, or do other gardening chores. We find the garden a never ending job! We prefer helpers who don't mind getting their hands dirty.

Thanks to many wonderful helpers who have stayed with us we have created brick paths in the garden. There is a Chinese section in the vegetable garden, and several... more inside
