After volunteering in various farms in the world, I managed to convince my father to accept hosting volunteers too and I`m really happy to start that new experience in our property. The farm is only 1hectare, sufficient for a family to grow veggies and care few animals for our own consumption. It`s about 10years that we didn`t do much on buildings and the priority will be renovate walls and roofs. I live in a mobile-home in the middle of the farm with dry toilet and solar shower but we provide private room in the house for volunteers. We are actually renovating the house, so It's "work in progress" inside, there is still a bathroom with hot water, but also a lot of dust :)
I`ll be assisting volunteers during week days, that will be also during the week that you'll have free time, as on weekends, my father is here to work with us. He doesn`t speak english. Hopefully you`ll speak some basics french to communicate with him.
We share meals and life in general in familial athmosphere.... more inside

We are looking for an English or Spanish native speaker who wants to help a little bit at home and garden as well as play and speak English to our children (12 1/2, 10 1/2, 7 1/2 and 5 years).

20 hours per week (schedule can be fixed according to your timetable, I`m not working). You have your own bedroom with private toilet plus food.
You don`t need to speak French, if you want to learn or/and improve, we will help!
We eat organic food, live in a nice area with a natural lake, perfect to hike, cycle,.. we have chicken, a giant garden and a dog.
I`m personally on a gluten free and dairy free Diet, this might be interesting for some people looking to go abroad but who have a specific diet that makes it more diggicukt such as vegan.
We search for a big sister or brother. Someone who wants to share plays with the children and bring a little of abroad in our home.

Hope to talk to you soon !

Salut,

Bonjour !

Our domain is located in the French border with Spain, in south of France - in the Pyrénées Mountains 750 meters high surrounded with woods with a great view on Mont Canigou.

We are a family, Bénédicte & Cedric, both 39 year old, and our 2 children Timothé & Isis. Here we are! We settled « Domain Le Noell » together and we are working hard to make our place better and better.

We set an organization which welcomes a French immersion summer camp for international teenagers during summer and sometimes for spring and autumn too.

We also host hiking groups, nature lovers year round.

At Le Noell, there is always something to do! Our idea of being a host for HelpEx is to welcome people from everywhere, share and living together. We love to have people staying at Le Noell and we want our walls and trees echo many languages.

The volunteers can help for different tasks on the domain:

- from spring to autumn: help in building painting, home improvement of all s... more inside

This is a large house with large grounds and I require help with grass cutting, hedge trimming, leaf clearing, general maintenance, pool maintenance and management of trees etc!! Everything here is seasonal but not particularly organic based, this of course can change with the right planning. I am a single 65 year old guy responsible for the running of the estate and I would love some assistance to help maintain the overall aspect of the property. So young, adventurous, fit and eager is the order of the day!! There are tractors and grass cutting equipment, chainsaws etc!! I can instruct you in their use and give safety advice. You would be expected to work up to 30 hours per week for a period of 2/3 weeks initially, longer stays are conditional!! You would have your own bedroom, and there is free wifi and 2/3 meals per day, you can chip in with any cooking skills you may have at any time. I only have room for 1 person but there is always something to do!! I have some chickens and gr... more inside

Big Changes! Last year we wrote...
After the season we expect to sell the holiday accommodation part and retain our house and the Singa studio. From then on we will be needing help in readjustment with a number of substantial projects in the following months.
Well, thats what happened. We have an opportunity for a self sufficient couple to enjoy a Spring break in the beautiful Dordogne countyside. We will not be in France for a while and would like to find someone or two willing to keep a garden in order, undertake a bit of painting and...relax. Our garden has gone down from the indictated 2.5 H to a very small area plus a couple of fields to keep mowed. but the new proprietors could well be seeking (paid) assistance in keeping their portion. Call us and talk it through. David and Helen

Hello,
We are a family of 3, with a 5-Year old little girl.
We have travelled around the world and at the moment need to stay in France for a while.
Since about a year, we have openned an organic food store, so we are very well concerned about healthy eating and environemental preservation.
We live in a village called Ungersheim, which is very much involved in ecological projects such as a eco-wooden houses, organic food production, sustainable energies...

This is the right moment to host travellers in exchange with conversational moments with us (few hours a week) and english teaching to our daughter to help her improve her english skills as we will need this to go travel again.

We have previously hosted an au pair. This was a great experience and we will surely do it again in the futur, but during school period, we don't need babysitting.

Duration : 1-2/60/90 nights depending on your project.

Please contact us for any further information.

Our farm is 40 hectares of rolling woodland and meadow near the small town of Mirepoix, in Ariège, south-western France. We are developing our farm project and currently have 7 Galloway and 9 Casta cows. Our project involves holding meditational Retreats in which guests are given the opportunity to practice yoga, meditation and silent walks in and around the farm. We are also developing a nature sanctuary on all our land which includes the cows, an orchard, recreating wildflower meadows and creating wildlife ponds and of course, showing love and respect to the original inhabitants - the deer, wild boar, buzzards, lizards and so on.

We have recently featured in a BBC documentary 'The Secret Life of Farm Animals' and also in several well-being magazines such as Happiful, Breathe and Pebble.

The foundation of the farm is quietness. That doesn't mean we don't talk, rather that we are dedicated to allowing this natural quietness guide us in all we do.

We are always looking for ... more inside
