I'm a well travelled 58 years old french guy, owning and living in a little house, 950 mtrs high in the pyrenees mountains, surrounded by millions of trees, trying to leave with the slightest carbon print, eating mostly organic food, speaking french, english, spanish fluently, maybe as as well a bit of german (I need some tuition). I am slightly handicapped (I am limping strongly and have a feeble back)and I need help to finish my house, prepare and store fire-wood,do a bit of garden and so on. I offer in exchange a relax stay, good food, a lot of good music, great movies, eventually great encounters with local fauna. I have a strong interest in asian cultures and people, as well as New Zealand and Kiwis. See you soon maybe.

Hello and thank you for looking at my profile. I am looking for someone to help me in my everyday life as a handicapped person. I look for someone who speaks enough French so that we can understand each other. You can help me by driving my car that is adapted to transport me in my electric wheelchair, feed the chimney with fire wood, help outside, like gardening, diy, cutting wood.
I live in the countryside in the wooded and wild Dordogne, on a property of 2 hectares.
I offer a room on the first floor with separate bathroom and toilet, the meals, and help in deepening the knowledge of the French language (I give courses in French to non-French Europeans living in the Dordogne).

Tu peux m'aider a: conduire ma voiture, alimen... more inside

After a very successful HelpX 2012, we are now NOT looking for help for the foreseeable future. Thanks to all our Helpers over the past year or so and to everyone who has shown interest in our project so far! Cheers, Rich & Yvett.

**************************************************

During the day we need renovation & garden work with Rich (Yvett works full time) at our farmhouse Le Courtal, near the village of Sieuras (40 mins south of Toulouse) and on an evening we all eat & relax back at 'base' in Le Fossat. 25 hours work a week in exchange for a comfortable bed, great food & conversation (in English, French & Hungarian!) plus a free personal guide to the Pyrenees! We have welcomed 5 HelpXers here since Dec 11 & more are 'booked in' for the Summer!; it has been a very positive & productive experience...we hope and think our Helpers feel the same way! :-) There are more details about us below...if you are interested, please do contact us. Cheers, Rich & Yvett.

We are a family of 4 living in this small village south of Carcassonne. We have a one hectare plot in the centre of the village, next to the church, and are in the process of restoring the old stone buildings, building 3 new gites and landscaping the hectare of gardens. We have now completed the gites with fantastic help from Helpx visitors.
We now need to concentrate on the garden, we are not very green fingered and so any help is gratefully received! We need to do some planting, hard landscaping and general tidying up around the place.
We can offer a 3 bedroom gite for up to 8 people, plus meals on working days (until July/Aug when holiday lettings have gite.) Skills in building work and/or gardening would be useful but not essential. Enthusiasm, common sense and willingness to have a go more important. We would like 5 hours a day 5 days a week but can be flexible. See website for photos etc.
Our village is quite quiet in winter, there is a cafe which has live music events from... more inside
