I am offering accomodation that is on the edge of the Waitakere Ranges - tracks can be accessed within short walking distance of the property. The Hillary Trail start is close by and although it can be accessed by walking, transport to the start point can be provided. In exchange I would like some help with my native bush garden which is in an ecologically significant area. Help needed involves some weeding and general tidying up of the yard.
Availability: Currently unavailable - please check back in June 2018

Currently need someone asap to help out on the farm. We have a 6 month old baby - so must be a non smoker and must not be sick or injured.

Our family farm is a 200 cow dairy farm, 8 minutes east of the Bombay hills. It is 85 hectares of farm land and another 30 hectares of native bush and pines.

As a dairy farm we could always do with an extra set or two of hands!

There is always all sorts of small jobs that need doing that i don't get time for or just need a hand with. To stay, 4 or 5 hours work a day would be sufficient. This work could include anything from spraying weeds to painting building. It all depends on the time of year and the weather. But you will definitely a true kiwi farm experience here!

We are a young couple (31/32) with a warm 4 bedroom house on the farm. we have two dogs, (mojo/buddy) black labs. we both work all the time but there is plenty to do in your down time - from bush walks in native New Zealand forest to a double waterfalls. we also have ... more inside

Hi, Its now summer in Huia and it has been absolutely beautiful. We are a coastal rural environment, and we are right on the edge of the Manukau harbour with beautiful bush walks and gorgeous beaches (one just a few minutes walk down the road). We have lots to be done right now, all help welcomed.

There is a LOT of weeding to be done right now. There are some other light building maintenance like waterblasting, cleaning windows, cleaning and/or sanding walls and ceiling ready for painting. And if you have the skills you can help with some building work.

You need to be self motivated and get along with jobs on your own. So bring your great personality and enthusiasm!

Make sure you are prepared to work outside, bring a hat and suncream! 4 hours per day work is what we expect you to do, but of course we love and appreciate if you choose to give extra time. We would recommend starting at 9am and finishing at 1pm, to give you the afternoon to explore and enjoy our be... more inside

Hello if you are coming to Auckland we have availablity from the 11th February. Our home is a non smoking house and we have 2 large German shepherds dogs. We have found that our help X guests really need to have their own transport. We live 45 minutes from Auckland CBD and the closest bus stop is approximately 4 kilometres. Bus service in our area is infrequent.

We live on a lifestyle property north west of Auckland, we have a 7 bedroom home which currently has a spare twin room and sometimes a double. We have a pool which has been appreciated in our hot summer days! We own and operate a private Function centre that specializes in Weddings and corporate functions. So we have opportunities to work as waiting or Waitressing and bar for experienced Hospitality workers. We offer food and accommodation in exchange for 4 hours work a day.

Our other venue is closing and we have also need of staff to help with the dismantle of the building/ general labour, moving cleaning etc. So ... more inside

I run a lifestyle block on the western outskirts of Auckland city (about 20 minutes off-peak) and have 2 kunekune pigs and 20 laying hens. Part of my property which has a flower-growing nursery on it is leased out but there are many maintenance jobs that I would love help with around the property ie: hedge-trimming, wood-chopping, gardening (weeding, trimming shrubs and branches off trees) and generally keeping the property tidy. I have an old glasshouse and shadehouse which I'm dismanteling as well.
I share my home with 3 friendly flatmates, one who loves to cook and a dog and cat. We're quite a sociable bunch so come and join us. I have one spare room for you yourself or you and a friend (twin share). I have a pushbike that you can use and I'm happy to pick you up from a bus-stop/train-station when you arrive/depart.

SHORT TERM TINY HOUSE BUILDING HELP NEEDED FROM 30TH JAN to 9TH FEB!
------------------------------------------------

We (Tom and Shaye) are in the early stages of developing a permaculture based mini community (approximately 4-5 families eventually). We've already completed a strawbale cottage and a tiny house... and we're partway through building a main strawbale house which will be the largest building on the property. There's also the beginnings of a food forest here. The land is set in beautiful bushy Oratia. It's quiet here. There's lots of birds and tree's and it's a great place to be with nature.

I (Tom) am looking for help for a short period of time (from the 30th Jan to the 9th Feb) building a tiny house on a trailer. Previous building experience would be perfect although not an absolute necessity. The project is on a fairly tight schedule because I have to get it finished before my feldenkrais training program starts. So we'll be working full days. I will be workin... more inside

I am an artist (painter) currently working on a new exhibition. I have an interesting house in the bush near the sea, with lots of sunshine and privacy. I have a very friendly little red kelpie dog who loves the company of her helpx visitors! There is a waterfall here with stream and ponds set in the lush bush. With plenty of practical jobs to do both inside and outside in the bush and in the gardens, I welcome visitors who are willing diligent helpers . I am developing a helpx garden and orchard so that there are plenty of fresh veges for my helpx helpers as they come and go. I am a good cook, am willing to teach my helpers how to cook from time to time. I am happy for you to sometimes cook for me and other helpx helpers if they are here! I enjoy sharing my home and life with others. I network for my visitors if I can. The walks at Bethells Beach and the connected tracks to the the Waitakere Ranges are wonderful. Te Henga/Bethells is a vast sprawling wilderness quite close ... more inside
