Hi, We run a 775 hectare sheep and beef farm, located about 40km southeast of Masterton.
It is a picturesque farm with native bush, a river, lots of bird life and is great for farm walks.
We are offering a furnished, self contained 3 bedroom cottage. It has 1 king bed, a queen bed and 2 singles. It also has a log burner, gas hobs, an oven, TV, a stereo, an outside deck and a BBQ.
We are looking for a maximum of 4 people at one time, staying for no less than a 2 week period. Working hours and terms are negotiable.
We are primarily looking for people with painting experience. We would like the cottage painted inside and out, (which is where you would be staying). There are other farm buildings that need work so building experience would also be an advantage. There may also be from time to time other jobs such as cleaning, gardening and farm work.
You would either need some sort of transport or we go to town 2-3 days a week so you would be able to work in with these rides.
We have... more inside

We are a small Purebred Arabian Stud, we currently have 6 mares - 3 of which will foal this year. We also keep a small flock of Dorper Sheep and Orpington Hens. We grow our own vegetables and the property does have some immature fruit trees.
We both work fulltime and we do have various jobs that we need some assistance with - lining a 4 Bay shed which we are converting into stables, regular foot baths for the sheep, cultivating a small garden area for vegetables, spraying for weeds, weeding and planting some small beds. Working some of the younger horses - not riding yet as they are quite young - but lots of grooming, general handling, lungeing. In hand training for showing.
We also have 4 dogs - two of which are greyhounds but they are pets, not racers. Also one Jack Russell and an old Border Collie
We are easy going people and we love good food! You will receive one home cooked meal per day and there will be plenty of food available for breakfast and lunch but you would have to... more inside

Anna and I have a large garden which we supply our florist business in Wellington - more foliage than flowers. We are continually planting and have a 900 tree (cypressus) maze. When we moved here 4 years ago the land was bare except for the maze. We are mid 60's but love being around young people, have lived throughout the world over our life together and apart and enjoy all nationalities, non judgemental, and love sitting down with a beer and chatting. Anna is a gorgeous chef, a dedicated and a gardener extradinaire with green fingers. Our land is nestled amongst farms approx. 5 kms from Greytown and 10 minutes by car to MArtinborough and an hour to Wellington by train or car.We live with Ralph, our coarse haired Jack Russell dog. A chance to visit farms in the area.
We'd like anyone with enthusiasm and initiative and whatever skills they can bring to the land.
We also operate a recycled décor retail outlet nearby.

September 2013 - At the moment we are in need for spring help! This will be mostly gardening and planting and general outside work. There is plenty going on, including a couple of cute calves to feed. One helper, or a couple, would be best :) We haven't had a helper in a while and miss them! Email us! Chrissy

We're a busy family with 5 young children. We've just bought a new place, and have plenty of work to do! We love our beautiful semi-rural outlook, with our own stream and plenty of trees and places to explore, but still only 10 minutes from Palmerston North. There's plenty of ongoing work outside, and we enjoy getting stuck in and doing it ourselves. We've got 25 acres now that we're working on, and would love some help with many things, including building, gardening, tree planting, fencing, firewood, animal care, household work and painting. We've got a dog, sheep, chickens, a goat, and cattle. There's always something going on around here - lots of busy-ness and noisy-ness... more inside

We are renovating our home and looking forward to working in the garden the minute the weather changes. If you are at loose ends and would enjoy a bit of country life for a short time then we can offer a clean bed and good food in exchange for some relaxed help.
This would suit someone who is writing their memoirs or needing a breath of fresh air.

Regards,
Katherine
