We are a small farrow to finish free range pig farm located east of Carterton in the Wairarapa. This farm was started from bare blocks about 6 years ago and we have been putting in all the infrastructure ourselves.

We feed our cows, sheep, geese, turkeys, chickens, cats, dogs, and pigs every day so there is a lot of animal time. We also do a lot of things like planting trees and plants and tending the veggie patch. We have lots of small projects to improve the place and often need a hand. Some stuff is outdoors other stuff can be indoors. I make my own soap, syrups, jams, jellies, sausages, cider, etc etc. We also try to eat what we grow ourselves and raise our own meat and poultry. These activities are seasonal but always glad to have a hand.

We are currently looking for people to help us continue to get the self-contained barn unit ready for Help-xers. This barn has it's own living space with amazing views. It has a kitchenette, full bathroom, lounge and wood bu... more inside

We live in paradise. Our rural property is 4km outside of Martinborough's charming wine village, which is one of the tourist destinations in the region.

For your 5 hours work you'll receive accommodation and meals. We need help around the farm and in the house. In addition to the 5 hours of work, we ask you to help prepare meals, clean up after meals, and at the end of your stay please strip your beds, clean your room, and scrub your bathroom. We appreciate people who are friendly, hard working, and responsible.

We've got 20 acres with 500 olive trees, plus apple, plum, apricot and quince trees, a small veggie and flower garden, and some chooks. Work involves weeding, mowing, house cleaning, farm chores, planting, pruning, feeding chooks, etc. Minimum stay 3 days.

We lease part of the land to a stock agent who runs cattle and sheep, but there's no work for you to do involving the stock. They're just fun to look at.

There are two bicycles you can use to get to the villa... more inside

We are a middle-aged couple with a labradoodle and chihuahua and two burmese cats and a few cows, sheep and chickens we love to care for, and a couple acres of gardens we love to potter around in. Always have a project on the go. We are 5 minutes' drive from the train to Wellington. Nearby are wonderful walks and tramps, vineyards and events. Tiffin is an architecturally designed 1994 eco-house. We have a separate 2-br studio cottage, plus a spare double bedroom. Nice hanging out zones thru-out the house and grounds, with books and magazines piled here and there, WiFi, and gorgeous views across the valley to the Tararua Mountains.

We breed gorgeous, friendly and delicious Scottish Highland Cattle on picturesque 35 acres of farmland in sunny Longbush, just south of Gladstone and north of Martinborough (the world renown wine region!) in the Wairarapa valley. We have a beautiful home, garden, orchard and vegetable garden, around 8 sheep, 20 cattle and loads of native birds.

We are looking for help with any of: brushing Highland cattle, gardening, housework, painting, feeding hay to animals, tidying up, wood splitting, general maintenance, chainsawing, cooking - whatever you can do!

As we are sometimes in Wellington we can do a pick-up and drop-off if you don't have your own transport.

We have 2 spare rooms in our sunny, well decorated and furnished farm home. Warm in winter and plenty of hot water, easy access to wineries, country living and farmland, and bush trekking and biking. Home preserves, home brew beer, and fantastic local wines. Some of the time you will be home alone.

Hi, We run a 775 hectare sheep and beef farm, located about 40km southeast of Masterton.
It is a picturesque farm with native bush, a river, lots of bird life and is great for farm walks.
We are offering a furnished, self contained 3 bedroom cottage. It has 1 king bed, a queen bed and 2 singles. It also has a log burner, gas hobs, an oven, TV, a stereo, an outside deck and a BBQ.
We are looking for a maximum of 4 people at one time, staying for no less than a 2 week period. Working hours and terms are negotiable.
We are primarily looking for people with painting experience. We would like the cottage painted inside and out, (which is where you would be staying). There are other farm buildings that need work so building experience would also be an advantage. There may also be from time to time other jobs such as cleaning, gardening and farm work.
You would either need some sort of transport or we go to town 2-3 days a week so you would be able to work in with these rides.
We have... more inside

On 25th March 2011 Kerri-Anne lives in a small semi-rural township called Pahiatua, 25 minutes east of Palmerston North, two and a half hour drive North of Wellington.

I have a flat-mate and a cat whom both are friendly. We have a very small but warm 2 bedroom house with small gardens. We can not offer you much work but we are happy for you to do some light duties.

We can offer you some local knowledge and help with how to navigate your way around the lower north Island and some local high spots to go and visit that wont cost the earth at all. We do have
Internet, we have Sky TV. Telephone. Shared Bathroom. B&B for one or a couple. Hot home cooked meal. Smoke free inside but smokers are welcome.

We are looking for people to stay 1-3 weeks.
In exchange, we need help with our new garden so gardening knowledge would be helpful but not necessary, some light housekeeping will be a help. I really love to cook and I would like very much to swap recipes and also share my ki... more inside
