Hello, thanks for your interest in beautiful Tasmania.
We are a family of 4 people. Angela, ( a Midwife), David ( a Primary school garden teacher, with a love for science) and our two sons aged 12 & 14. Our home is 20 minutes South of Hobart on 15 acres of land we have lots of quiet space for frogs and birds, (and many night time animals such as wallabies, possums, quolls and bandicoots). We are close to Mt Wellington, and Bruny Island. We have sheep, chickens, ducks and a puppy called 'Pippa', who is young and adventurous. We like to grow our own food as much as possible, including honey from our bees.
We offer in-house accommodation (a separate bedroom with double bed with en suite bathroom) - see photo and delicious meals with our family.
In exchange we need help with house work, painting, building garden beds, cooking and helping our family with day to day repairs, or chores (like feeding chickens). Our children are very self sufficient, and we generally do not expect... more inside

*Available to host for around 2 weeks anytime between 17th Nov and 15th Dec* Chance to help out with a local festival, decorating the hall and working with the public in late November too!

We are a friendly family of 5, mum (Amanda), dad (Greg) and three children aged 9, 6 and 5 who live 35 mins north of Launceston on the Tamar river near Exeter.
We moved to Tasmania from mainland Australia in 2013 and have very recently completed building our own house and shed on 10 acres. We built it single-handedly except for the help of 20 lots of helpers who stayed with us for varying lengths of time and helped us build it all!
Greg now works full time and Amanda part-time, but we still have many projects we want to work on and want to continue hosting as we love meeting people on their travels and sharing our family life with them for a moment in time! We have made some life long friends along the way and couldn't have completed our huge 4 year house build without the generous ass... more inside

We are a family, with one daughter(19) living at home and one(23) who visits occasionally, on our small mixed farm overlooking the Dentrecasteaux Channel and Bruny Island in southern Tasmania - 40 minutes from Hobart. We have alpacas, sometimes sheep,a young dog and a large vegetable garden and fruit and nut orchard.
Spring is here and the garden is entering it's busiest and most productive time. We're looking for help with general management of our garden and farm, including mowing, weeding, harvesting, ongoing maintenance, a bit of housework and cooking dinner if that's your thing.
We look forward to the cultural exchange - the stories and perspectives that you bring with you as a traveller from another country (Peter is of Italian heritage and speaks moderately fluent Italian). We would expect you to work for 5-6 hours per day, 5-6 days a week - usually Thursday and Sunday off, but that can vary. We often go for a hike/walk on the weekend and welcome you along.

We (Erik and Lisa) bought our beautiful piece of land about 2 years ago and are still settling in and getting our infrastructure in place on the road to self-sufficiency. We have a large vegetable garden and fruit orchard, as well as a multitude of building and fixing jobs always on the go. We are completely off-grid, using solar power, dam and rainwater, and wood fires for heating. We are into creative ideas and making use of second-hand and recycled materials. We also have our own mill so can mill all our own timber on-site. The majority of block is bush which we maintain as land for wildlife, and we are also wildlife carers so from time to time we have wallaby joeys we are caring for with an aim to rehabilitate them back to the wild.
Depending on who else is staying on our land, we can offer accommodation in an old converted school bus, and we also have a spare room in our house. If those options are full there is plenty of camping space as well and we have plans to get some mo... more inside

My 1.5 acre property is only 1km from the heart of the lovely village of Cygnet but is surrounded by cows and sheep. I share it with 2 alpacas. I'll be getting a new rescue dog soon. Helpers must love dogs as mine always live inside.

A cosy bedroom in my little home is offered to helpers except for one weekend in mid January when you'd be relegated to a mattress on the living room floor, as I offer my one spare bed to a performer during the annual Cygnet Folk Festival. A bicycle is available. I have wifi.

Accommodation and good meals provided in exchange for 4 hours work 6 days per week. Work includes weeding; brushcutting; planting trees, vegies and flowers; creating new garden beds; building a chook house; fencing; painting inside and out.

I'm getting on in years, so whatever help I get is REALLY appreciated!

Smokers OK, mature-age helpers OK. Vegetarians catered for.

Please note: I am not eligible to sign for second working visas.

We also have a cooking school where we teach people to cook authentic Italian cuisine. Our family provides a warm and friendly environment with home cooked meals. If you stay with us we will treat you as one of our family. Normal courtesy and kindness to others will be expected. No alcohol, drugs or unacceptable behaviour.

This is a rural property but within walking distance of the township.it is also reasonably close to Mt Field National Park and under 30 mins to Hobart, less to shopping at Glenorchy. This is dry country with limited water. The property would suit those who enjoy peace and quiet but want to be close to facilities. I am on a solar electricity system so must be careful with consumption but have all mod cons including tv and internet. I also have a rainwater supply so visitors need to be careful with water use.(no long showers please) If we run out we have to buy it.

I have a small home with accommodation in 2 bedrooms, one with a single bed and one with a double bed. There is a 3rd bedroom but I am in the process of renovating so it is not yet useable.

I provide good food and am pretty easy going. I would not expect you to work long hours. If I go out, you go with too.

Smoking permitted outdoors but strictly no drugs. I an older person and a widow but fit and healthy. I en... more inside

Looking for building and gardening help in November 2017 onwards.

A family permaculture property in Crabtree TAS, with a large variety of rare and interesting fruit and nut trees, including Australian bush food plants. Most of the time, there are four of us living here, Lyn, Tony, Selina and Flash (the dog) plus chickens, geese and native wildlife. We moved from Sydney to Tasmania just over 2 years ago to embrace sustainability and living in nature. We were lucky enough to find a beautiful house next to a pretty mountain stream (Crabtree creek) on 7 acres in the Huon Valley.

We are exceptionally health conscious and eat natural good food. We are trying to as much as possible support ourselves from our land and locally. We are also food lovers and are experienced and skilled in the kitchen.

Selina: Hello, I have WWoofed in the U.K. so am understanding of needs. I have studied and have interests in experimental natural farming, permaculture, herbalism, yoga, alternative hea... more inside
