Our farm is 40 hectares of rolling woodland and meadow near the small town of Mirepoix, in Ariège, south-western France. We are developing our farm project and currently have 7 Galloway and 9 Casta cows. Our project involves holding meditational Retreats in which guests are given the opportunity to practice yoga, meditation and silent walks in and around the farm. We are also developing a nature sanctuary on all our land which includes the cows, an orchard, recreating wildflower meadows and creating wildlife ponds and of course, showing love and respect to the original inhabitants - the deer, wild boar, buzzards, lizards and so on.

We have recently featured in a BBC documentary 'The Secret Life of Farm Animals' and also in several well-being magazines such as Happiful, Breathe and Pebble.

The foundation of the farm is quietness. That doesn't mean we don't talk, rather that we are dedicated to allowing this natural quietness guide us in all we do.

We are always looking for ... more inside

Beautiful Manoir only 2kms from Estang a local village that has all amenities and several bigger towns all within 15 minutes.
We have horses, dogs and cats and if competent there will be an opportunity to ride if desired. There is also a carp lake and we have fishing rods and bicycles that are available.
Oil central heating, wifi and own room with bathroom and lashings of hot water.
The plan is to eventually have a Chambre d'Hote together with Equestrian holidays. Ideally looking for someone from now until May if they are happy here and a couple wold be great. Flexible and easy work; cleaning windows, some painting and tidying up, some gardening. Anything really to help out as many hands make light work. Irish family and wife is going to Ireland for work until May, so a couple where one person could throw together a simple meal (even sausage and chips) would be brilliant but we're open minded as to what skill sets someone has. Not hard or long hours and plenty of time off to sit... more inside

We,re an easy going couple with three children, two dogs & some chickens. We became the owners of a beautiful old textile mill some 6 years back, sitting within 3 hectares of old park gardens & vegetable plots. Sitting just outside the town of Labastide Rouairoux, famous for its history in textiles. We love the mountains and rivers here & enjoy our lifestyle very much.

As a family we are off skiing from February 7th to 15th and are looking for an individual or couple to come and stay . We can offer you a very nice self contained holiday apartment or you can stay within the old mill itself. Our dogs Ludo & ficelle will need cuddles, walking a little and feeding . Oh and the chickens need to be fed & watered too.

On our return there are many projects that can be done around the house & gardens if you wish to stay. We can pick you up from any railway station etc , we look forward to hearing from you,

Simon ,Lara & the tribe.

I live in a big house and I need help to maintain it. Also I have an organic vegetable garden to take care off and a few animals such as ckicken, sheeps, dogs and a cat. There is a organic farmer who come and cultivate my land so I get fresh organic vegetables. You can learn a lot from him about permaculture. A couple of beekepers have put hives on my property. I expect 25 hours of work per week in exchange of a bedroom on your own and meals. I cook mostly vegetarien. Very rarely I cook meat but it happens sometimes.

FRENCH VERSION BELOW
We (in our 30s) welcome you on 9Ha of land on a farm open to collective projects (experimental agriculture, eco building, artistic creations and events...).

We can host from May to October and we specifically need help in the vegetable garden with a bit of work to keep the fields in good condition.

The project is still recent so please be prepared for basic (but comfortable) accomodation: we can offer a private room and you'll have access to the internet and a bathroom in our house.

Dry toilet and phytopurification (only natural, non polluting hygiene products allowed)

Our aim is to be as autonomous as possible (energy, food...) and our activities are non lucrative.

As previous helpers, we know both sides of the coin: we don't expect you overwork but we are not a free hotel either!

Just give us a call so that we can talk about it together!
French, English and German spoken

Immerse yourself in rural France... we are off the beaten track in the southern Loire Valley, near the historic town of Ligueil. Our 15th century house is at the heart of a very small medieval village. We have a local store with a bar, but that`s it! Bigger shops and restaurants can be found in Loches (about 20 mins away by car). From Paris the nearest mainline railway station is in Tours. There is also an international Airport at Tours (serviced by RyanAir). The bus which will deliver you to our village leaves from the centre of Tours and takes an hour to get here.

We are not wealthy people, just very fortunate to find such a special place to live. And we are committed to ensuring this ancient building is in good repair so it lasts another 600 years. We mostly do the work ourselves, and we run a part-time `bed and breakfast` business to help pay the bills (open from May to October). Like all old buildings there is always something to be done, so we could do with some assistance... more inside

Hi Guys :)

After a lot of travels around the world, being an helper myself and managing an Organic farm in British Columbia (Canada), i finally settled myself in france, in a farm (Ashnola Organic Farm).
The farm is located at the foothills of the Pyrenees, in the beautiful valley of the Baretous. It is just 20 minutes away from Oloron Ste Marie, 45 from Pau, an hour from Spain and less than 2 hours from the Atlantic ocean.
I am always looking for new helpers who want to share my life style, their stories and listen to mine, are not afraid to put some dirt on their hands, help with animals (chickens, rabbits, horses, cats and dog) and want to eat organic fresh food. And we often give a hand to the neighbors.
According to the season we seed, plant, pick and pack and we go to the farmer market, and the basic chore of every farmer, some weeding :P
I like to work in the morning, 4 to 6 hours per day.
After that, the afternoon is for you, hiking, biking, visiting the area, goin... more inside
