I am located in a remote valley in the hills of the western Algarve. It is a peaceful place surrounded by woods and wilderness. Next village, Internet etc. is Aljezur, 10km.
It is independent of public water and electricity. I grow organic vegetable and fruit. So it is vegetarian cooking.Like to cook?
It is a place for independent people, who like a quiet and close to nature environment to enjoy a simple live without internet, cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. I like a hand with gardening and clearing the land because of the forest fires in summer,
help with weeding and woodchopping is always needed.
You will live in a caravan, there is a lake for swimming and a bike to get out. Minimum stay is 2 weeks. If possible I like you to arrive sunday or monday and leave on a saturday. You will need a torch, sleeping bag, working gloves. See you here?

This quinta is a traditional farm or estate in the heart of Funchal. We grow herbs and lettuces, bananas, some veggies, and have some sheep and chickens. You are welcome to pick your own veggies and fruit that are in season from the Quinta.

We offer food and accomodation in exchange for 5 hours work a day. Alberto our farm manager will coordinate the work with you, (its helpful of you speak English). Work can include, weeding, sowing seeds, maintenance work in the gardens (preparing the lawns and paths) as well as helping out with the odd job on the Quinta.

Typically we ask you to be inependednt (cook your own food) and we like to have you for meals from time to time. You will share a kitchen and accomodation, which is in a room with two bunk beds. There is a bathroom next to the bedroom. Ideally looking for people to stay for longer periods (3 weeks or more) but open to shorter stays too.

We welcome both skilled and unskilled people.

Hello to all travelers
I'm Paolo and I'm Italian
From September of last year I rented a house in a remote land in Portugal.
it is a very large house, located 120 km south of Lisbon and 25 km from the ocean in a very quiet and peaceful valley.
The nearest village, Azinheira do Barros, offers essential services, is 4 kilometers away.
the neighborhood is made up of country houses inhabited by Portuguese and northern Europeans who live a super quiet life and who have created a small community of solidarity here.
During my experience as a HELPER in one of their homes I immediately established a wonderful relationship with everyone that led me to do everything to have that house.
the desire is to buy it one day, but waiting for that time I have to live it or make it live.
For family reasons I can not go there this year so often and I SEARCH for someone who:

- "live" the house also when i'm not there
- enjoy the amazing multicultural neighbors
- prepare and look after the vege... more inside

We are a family run organic farm, cultivated in following biological agriculture principals. We have a "pick your own" sales concept, which atracts alot of families. This farm has some small animals and a stream that runs through it, its very well located in the center of the algarve about 7kms from the beach (Albufeira, Quarteira, Vilamoura) we have some bicycles to lend out. We offer a tent and all meals.
We need a hand with all tasks on the farm from weeding to building ecological structures.

We are a young at heart retired couple in the prime of youth in mind if not body which is why we need some help in our Gardens. During the month of May. Initially we are looking for Helpxers for 1 or 2 weeks who can turn their hands to general garden duties like weeding, pruning, cutting down dead trees, along with a variety of other tasks. With the help from other Helpx Sam Barbagallo who completely remodelled our koi pond and fitted a new liner a job well done! Also in 2017 we replaced all of the fencing to stop the dogs escaping and to keep our guests in as well! Our project for 2018 is to complete our 2017 project which was to convert our stables into kennels. This project will restart in the Autumn 2017. But as I said above our gardens are in need of some TLC Our next project after the gardens will be later on this year. We will need help in finishing them off and constructing runs and erecting fencing to stop the guests escaping, that's the dogs not the Helpxers! We work ve... more inside

Hi,

Our names are Steve & Frances and we live in a small south facing Quinta or Farm in the heart of Portugal near the beautiful Sierra de Estrella mountains, which provide us with our breathtaking views. We travelled Europe in a camper van for 4 years doing volunteer work, before finally settling down here in Portugal. We decided to make our own piece of paradise and put into action all the things we learnt on our travels, to try and give something back to Mother Nature. We have only just started on our journey here and currently we have very limited facilities, but are working hard to improve them. We need the assistance of some energetic pioneer helpers who don't mind a little rough living for a short while. We aspire to Permaculture principles and design in all the things that we do, and would love to teach and learn at the same time, as we set about putting our ideas and designs into action.

We love to socialise and after the days work is done, enjoy a good beer or a nice... more inside
