COOKTOWN - A VERY UNIQUE RURAL SMALL COASTAL TOWN WITH HEAPS OF HISTORICAL CHARM!!

I feel for the young overseas people who are now currently stranded up here in Queensland.
Cooktown is in lockdown along with the whole of the cape closed off for entry. One is required a permit to enter and if eligible, then must stay 14 days in isolation.
I can provide a place to stay for your 14 days provided you bring your own food and camping gear. I can provide firewood and water only. After 14 days and you’re well of course, I am willing to take you as volunteers on my farm. But you must self cater or be financially able to assist in the shared grocery bill. I can provide a safe and free place to camp only, in exchange for light farm duties.
I can no longer afford to provide the free meals.

Obviously the post below has changed. I am going to leave it as is in memory of what it was pre Covid-19 and hopefully what will be when this world crisis is over.

Sorry, but the position is not available at the moment. Please check back in June.
This is a funky eclectic beach property on a quiet street 5 min walk to an uncrowded beautiful surf beach with many walking tracks through the dunes nearby. Just 8km south of Noosa, one of Australia's most iconic tourist destinations. Peregian Beach village is only 3km south with great restaurants, boutique shopping, IGA and patrolled beach. Brisbane is an hour and a half drive away.
There is a saltwater pool, a large deck and some beach gear at your disposal.
This urban block has been set up as an organic edible garden with native and European honey bees. It just needs a bit of love to bring it back to its former glory.
The downstairs of the house is a separate space that has been converted into an AirBnB which attracts lovely guests, often families.
I would like to offer accommodation for up to a week (longer stays to be negotiated) and possibly food (to be negotiated) in exchange for 2 - 3 ... more inside

Unfortunately Cape York and Cooktown are in lockdown- not currently able to accept Helpers. We have a quiet property with a pool and lovely views near the small town of Cooktown, a few kilometers from beautiful beaches. Wallabies hop around the property. Pubs, restaurants, shops etc are just a short drive away. We are scientists who work from home and are looking for help with our fun-loving and energetic 2 year-old boy. Experience with young children preferred.
