We have 8 acres of woodland with streams and river - good for walking, as is nearby Bodmin moor. We are about 30 minutes from the nearest seaside and 10 minutes from the nearest town, Callington. Our vegetable garden is raised beds on a sloping site, soft fruit area and orchard. We have a friendy cat, Maisie.

We live in an eco-house which we designed and did a lot of the work on. We generate our own electricity by a photo voltaic system and our water supply is from a woodland spring. Accommodation is comfortable - own double room. We are not vegetarian but are happy to cater for vegetarians.. We have good wireless internet access.

Help mostly needed in woodlands and garden - getting in wood, and maintaining patas, clearing brambles etc.

And in the summer, harvesting fruit, tending to the veg garden, etc

Our daughter and family are next door and also need help in their woodlands. So helpers can have more variety and young company. Jess is a botanical illustrato... more inside

Hi, we are a couple running a not for profit organisation which includes a health shop in Whitby, North Yorkshire. We live in a village on the North Yorkshire Moors called Goathland, which is a beautiful rural location. We have recently moved in and the land needs some attention with clearing, preparing, planting, weeding and grass cutting. We also need some help in our health shop in Whitby and are looking for a couple ideally who can help us both with the land and the shop. We would like help for 3 full days per week for each helper, in return for accommodation and provision of food which the helpers would usually cook for themselves, though we would cook meals sometimes for us all to share. The accommodation would be a cabin close to the garden which has a main kitchen/dining/sitting area with wood burning stove (fuel supplied), separate bedroom and bathroom with washing machine. The photos below show some of the garden & house, (the cabin is close by) & also a photo of the local ... more inside

Update: At the moment we only need help in May and June 2018. The work will mainly be digging in our growing areas and clearing weeds. It is essential that you have done garden work in the past! Now please read on...

Hello! We are Elaine and Richard and we live in beautiful countryside near the border between England and Wales. Our house has quite a large garden, which we are trying to remodel at the moment, and wonderful views and walks. We are about 10 minutes walk across fields from the nearest village (where there are two pubs, a small art/craft gallery, a cafe and shop, plus buses to the local town). We also have an allotment (separate large vegetable growing area on a nearby farm) which needs a lot of clearing work at the moment. We have four grown up kids living nearby who you may meet while you're here (plus a friendly cat who lives here all the time!)

In the pictures you can see us, and us with two of our grandchildren who were visiting us when the photos were taken, ... more inside
