We have nearly finished building a timber workshop and will soon have a good woodworking shop. Our next focus will be the Showman's Wagon. We are moving our home towards being off-grid: digging the well and getting a pump working, increasing solar hot water capacity and installing photo-voltaic panels.
We have a few chickens plus Eva dog and Eric the cat. We have a large garden with a vegetable plot. We enjoy life: working hard, meeting new people and cycling around the South West, especially if it involves a good Somerset pub... We need help with carpentry and building projects, gardening, dog-walking. We can consider long term stays after a trial period.

We are happy to help people learn English and suggest ways to discover our area. We can lend bikes for helpers to get around and explore the countryside. Our village is small and quiet and the area is very beautiful. Somerset is a county with many contrasts: hills, moors, coast and towns.

Hi there Helpers,
We would like to invite 2 or 3 people into our home that are genuinely looking for a true cultural exchange with a young british american family. We need help caring for our two young boys and keeping the house clean and tidy. We would like you not just to come help us out but to truly become part of our family and want to BE with us, not on your phones all day or tucked away in your bedroom. We hope to build a relationship with you and stay in touch even after you leave.

We are an international couple from England and America (Mark and Amaris) and recently had 2 little boys :) in 2017 (Teodor "Teddy") and 2018 (Alexander "Alè"). We have traveled far and wide and have now chosen to settle down for a bit in a small village, south of Cambridge, UK. Mark works with computers and Amaris has a part time job but mostly works from home and cares for the boys. We have no pets at this time but hope next year to get a small dog.

Type of help needed:

A unique and quirky garden which has been open in the national Garden Scheme for over 35 years. Mill Barn is a series of delights. Along the R Darwin, in Lancashire, through the tiny secret grotto, past the suspension bridge and view of the fairy-tale tower, visitors can a stroll past folly, sculptures, lily pond, and lawns, enjoy the naturally planted flowerbeds, then enter the secret garden and through it the pathways of the wooded hillside beyond.

Your hostess is, a retired social worker, whose husband, a retired lecturer, is the gardener and a member of the National Garden Scheme. The garden is open on two weekends in June 15,16,22,23 when 300 to 400 people visit. 6 volunteers attend on each day to support the four openings.

I would appreciate the help of an assistant event organiser for three weeks from June 4 to June 25th. This role is now taken for this year.

The role involves, before the events getting to know how the household works including the kitchen, ta... more inside

Summer work on an environmental project in Dumfries & Galloway, SW Scotland.

Come and help us transform our land into a fruit, vegetable, herb and berry farm. There's also a large round tent needing repaired and set up, a small caravan to be restored and there are ponies always in need of attention. If you have experience working around horses, gardening, DIY, enjoy quiet surroundings and can look after yourself while here then you could have a great time helping us here during summer. You'll need to be fit, healthy and used to eating whatever is available as we don't have supermarkets or shops around us. We do not cater for special dietary requirements.

We are in a rural location so there is no public transport. Coming here means making the most of the surrounding countryside and also helping look after our guests, who come here for walking, cycling, fishing, swimming or to observe the wildlife.

Accommodation is in a static caravan within a mile's walk of our project, all... more inside
