We are hobby farmers (in our fifties) on a timbered block of land with a creek running through. We have a lot of animals: a few cattle, horses, pigs, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats and sometimes sheep. We also have a garden with fruit trees and native shrubs. It is a quiet place with lots of native birds, but we are only 5 minutes off the Bruce Highway and only 15 minutes from Rockhampton.

The house is new, clean and comfortable, and the surroundings pleasant.

We provide a good variety of food, and we are not vegetarian.

There is always a lot of different jobs here: feeding animals, watering the fruit trees, maybe stacking timber/branches out in the paddock. We expect about 5 hours of work per day - the work is not hard. We are flexible with hours, you might want to work some longer days, and take a day off.

We are easy to find if you come by car, and we can pick you up from Rockhampton if you come by bus, train or plane.

It may be a couple of days before we can ... more inside

Please contact by email if you have skills in the following:
Gardening - there is a vine taking over the garden and pool area, which needs to be dug out, and also other weeding and pruning. Housekeeping - general cleaning, washing walls, cleaning inside cupboards. Nerida is working away in a remote outback area at the moment, so Paul and Ben are often the only ones home. Helpers must be able to work without supervision at times, and be careful about keeping doors closed so our cats stay inside - we have two indoor cats, and one is blind. We are a couple in our 50's & 31 year old son has returned from overseas and is here with us. Ben is into cycling. We prefer helpers aged 30+, so we can all relate. In Cairns we are 6km from city centre on half-acre (2000mm2) of gently sloping land that backs onto a creek & bush - very quiet & private. Spare room in house with queen-sized bed. Two hours per day per person work, in exchange for accommodation and prepare your own meals in our kitche... more inside

This is a Standardbred Horse stud located at the foot of the Tamborine Mountain. Located 45 minutes from Brisbane in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland.

We welcome working holiday visa holders with horse experience and most importantly a passion for horses!! Your role on the farm would be helping with the daily care of our standardbred racehorses, yearlings, broodmares and stallions. Feeding, grooming, mucking out etc.

Ideal helpers will be positive and willing. We enjoy meeting enthusiastic people that really want to get involved on the farm and learn how we do things.

Day to day life on the farm is easy going, and we encourage our travellers to enjoy their down time exploring all the area has to offer, such as walks in the national park and rainforest or swimming in the creeks and waterfalls. There will be plenty of time for playing pool, horse riding, swimming in our indoor pool, meeting our lovely big family and getting involved in the backyard cricket ... more inside

UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN SELF-SUFFICIENT LIVING SKILLS

WE, Roman (a sustainable design engineer) Jana (full-time mum) and our daughters Lada 6 yrs old, Zlata 3 yrs old & Meda born in April, live what we preach. In the past we transformed an inner city rented property into a productive food source and lived sustainably in complete happiness. You could see and hear us on the ABC TV's Gardening Australia, Bris 31 TV's Blooming in Brisbane, radio interviews, newspapers, magazines or presentations, workshops and conferences. Our family passionately share our knowledge, experience, ideas and inventions. Our sustainable living story and working towards self-sufficiency (growing food, making home produce, up-cycling materials, using urban environment to our benefit) make us less reliant on the society. We created SpurTopia A Small Kingdom of Happiness www.SpurTopia.blogspot.com.au

We recently bought a property (a double story house with a swimming pool on 4500 m2 of land) in Fer... more inside
