We are a family of five; Jack and Hannah with 3 kids Jeanie, Flora and Otis. We run the market garden at the eco-village and are part of our food hub, which distributes our own vegetables, locally sourced fruit and organic wholefoods to the residents of the eco-village and the wider community. Tasks will mainly include general gardening and helping to upgrade our gardens. Please only apply if you have gardening experience and can commit to a minimum stay of two weeks. We generally only need help between October and March and can accommodate between 1 and 3 people. You will need to camp, so bring your own tent or ask us if you don't have one and we'll see what we can do! Living conditions are pretty basic on our block (no power/water) but these are available at the eco-village centre nearby (~100m). We expect around 4 hours of help, 5 days a week, in addition to some help with meal preparation etc. In turn we will provide you with 3 tasty mostly organic and home-grown meals a day.

I have a small farm in a beautiful valley in north west Tasmania, with a vibrant local community. The farm is a mix of bush and cleared areas, with beautiful forests of tall timber and rainforest.
At this stage I have a small flock of sheep and abundant local wildlife including wallabies, possums and many varieties of birds. I have a few bee hives which I work on regularly. I have a small vegetable garden (which is need of work!), numerous fruit trees and each year I grow a small crop of potatoes which are sold locally. Most of the work here involves building and maintaining fences, clearing weeds in paddocks, cutting, splitting and stacking firewood, gardening, working with fruit trees, building and caring for the animals.
I am currently building a new house using alternative construction techniques involving earthen walls and floors and a variety of locally sourced materials. The property will be of interest to anyone who values the principles of sustainable living. The far... more inside

Our property is a small olive grove located in Tasmania's beautiful Tamar Valley, about 30 minutes north of Launceston. We are a husband and wife team with two children who run a small, boutique grove producing extra virgin olive oil and other olive products. Our farm is located on a peaceful ridge above the Tamar River, with heaps of native wildlife, including Pademelons, Wallabies, Bettongs, Bandicoots, Quolls, Echidnas and Possums. We also have pet chooks and miniature goats.

We have a very comfortable room available, with its own shower and toilet (private - external to the main house), tv and wifi (NBN...very fast). Meals will be held with the family in the main house, so we're looking for someone who doesn't mind a nice chat over dinner.

We are looking for people who are interested in helping to pick olives from late May through July, and helping with pruning, picking olive leaves (for olive leaf tea) and other tasks throughout the remainder of the year.

Hi my name is Dayna, I live about 10 mins out of Cygnet on a large bush property, with a large covered veggie garden and 2 hot houses. I just moved into the house so at the moment I am setting up the gardens, clearing the land and generally cleaning up the property. Its a 3 bedroom house, with lovely views to the river and bush.
Im looking for someone to help around the garden and property doing gardening, clearing, chopping wood and removal of gorse.
Someone with experience in building, landscaping, gardening, water pumps, brush cutting etc would be great. You will have your own room, most meals are provided if not food available to cook your own and I expect about 7 hours of work a day and 3 days off. I am also very flexible and open to suggestion. Looking for people that would to stay for 1 to 3 weeks. I am only interested in taking in people that are physically fit, easy going and self motivated.

If you would like to come explore the cygnet area please send me an email, t... more inside
