Hi,

We are very lucky to have a beautiful pocket of land set in the rolling hills of Devon, surrounded by stunning countryside. We are looking for help with various small projects. We're in Mid Devon and it's half hour drive to lovely beaches, 15 minutes into the historic city of Exeter and half hour to Dartmoor.

The land is a mixture of meadow bordered by traditional hedges, deciduous trees and has a lovely little stream running along one side. There gare 3 hectares in total, we have half and the other half belongs to friends. We are a small alternative community where everyone has their own home but come together for socia... more inside

We would like to welcome you to our beautiful period (1705) rural village home. We live with two daughters (4&3) who are fun (ok Iím their dad but others agree!!), 2 whippets, and a big fluffy cat called Ernie...

We are looking for a couple or a single who are enthusiastic to help us for 7-10 days periods in August, to help with the garden, exterior maintenance and some interior odd jobs. The work outside would include hedge trimming, general gardening, some light ground works and assistance with a rolling job list. Preferably we are looking for people who are over 25 years old and are responsible and independent. Loving animals is an essential as they are a big part of the household!

In return we can offer:
- a great downstairs bedroom (away from the kiddies upstairs!) with an adjacent bathroom;
- lovely food through the day; and
- lots of great British banter.

We are 1hr by train from London which Lucy and I commute to on alternative days. People are always amazed h... more inside

Hi there,

We need a beauty therapist to help out at our play cafe as our current one has had a death in the family.

You would need to be able to commit to staying for a minimum of 2 weeks.

We can sort the days and hours to suit all of us and you'd be free the other days to go off and explore.

*????There may also be the option of some extra paid work if interested.*????

We are living in a lovely unique town and are super close to rivers, forests, cities and the beach too!

In exchange you would have your own lovely room (with/without tv) and shared use of the wifi, bathroom and other communal areas and we can discuss meals, towels etc depending on your needs and availability :)

We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Jeni and Jordi

P.s. we also have a lovely dog :)

**Update**

Hello to All

I live in a small end-terraced house on the edge of town (5mins walk) your room is a large comfortable single room, with shared bathroom, kitchen and Wi-Fi access.
Only a 2 min walk to the train station, with good links to Chester and Manchester.
This is a peaceful house, for example no TV, so probably not exciting enough for most people.

I continue with renovation/redecorating work on my house, but nothing too technical or hard work.

+++Update+++

At the moment I don't have any work available in exchange for room and food so I would expect payment for room only.

If you have any questions please e-mail.

Thanks

We have space from september onwards. Please note we only offer short 7 to 10 day stays.
We need helpers to have a good conversational level of spoken English

We are a family with an organic smallholding run on Permaculture principles and a 8.5 Acre coppice woodland and we welcome volunteers for periods of 7 to 10 days to live with us and help us with our work.
* We try to be as self reliant as possible without being fanatical about it.
* We are structureing our garden on Permaculture principles
* We aim to recycle our rainwater and grey water through a reed bed.
* We use solar energy and waste wood wood to heat our home and to cook with. We use solar electricity with battery backup to lower our use of mains power.
* We want to consume less and recycle more
* We grow and eat our own vegetables, fruit, eggs and honey or trade with others where we cant grow our own.
* We create all of this ourselves (DIY) where possible from recycled materia... more inside

At the moment I have a space available for a HelpXer from October probably.

I am usually looking for somebody with at least some previous experience of gardening, as I need some help with an organic growing area that is not a farm, but allotment land, distributed over 2 sites with very different soil in West Oxford. I have been growing a mixture of vegetables, soft fruit and fruit trees for 28 years.

Over the last years I have had great help from several HelpXers, who have done a lot of digging and weeding, so nowadays there is not a lot of heavy digging to do. Tasks include maintaining the plots, dealing with perennial weeds, regular weeding, watering and from now there will be regular harvesting to do.

Apart from the regular sowing, planting and harvesting, there are also repairs to sheds, including painting sheds and decking, so somebody with some carpentry or woodworking skills would be ideal. I will also need help with harvesting and preparing vegetables and fruit f... more inside

We are a free range, semi self sufficient dairy farm, milking cows once a day on a rotary parlour.
We are looking for people to come and share our home, join in with family meals and our family life. In return we would like some help with milking most mornings so some experience would be very useful but not essential.
There is an old tractor that has been half way restored so if you enjoy tinkering with ancient mechanics this could be for you!
We also need help in the garden. There is a large vegetable garden which is sadly neglected and needs some TLC to get it back to being a productive organic vegetable source for the house.
Keeping the farm clean and tidy and helping move cows from field to field. About 4 hours help a day.
We are very remote and rural, the nearest shop is 5 miles away. There is a great country pub 3 miles away. We are an hour's drive from the North Devon coast with great surfing.
Over the last 10 years we have lots of Aussies and Kiwis stay with us ... more inside
