We are not currently looking for a helper as we are using the accommodation for staff.

In 2013 our village bought the pub and it is now run by the community providing not only a traditional pub, but also a cafe and Post Office in the heart of the Peak District National Park with walking, mountain biking (bike hire available locally), running, climbing and fishing on the doorstep. The village has good train and bus connections, with various tourist attractions assessable by public transport.

We welcome helpers who can help us in the cafe, bar, kitchen, general repairs (we currently have quite a few painting jobs) or the grounds, where we have an aspiration to create both a kitchen garden and a cutting garden. If you want to get out of the heat our cellar needs painting!

A sole occupancy bunkhouse with small kitchen, including washing machine and bathroom with bath and shower is available. In exchange for 24 hours work a week we provide facilities to make your own breakfast, ... more inside

We are on the banks of the beautiful Helford River on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. We have a large woodland garden where we need help to keep the brambles away and stop it turning into wilderness. And 8 hectares of forest garden and young walnut and chestnut trees that need weeding, mulching and loving, and planting of shelterbelts.
Also, we have a variety of barns and outbuildings that need various amounts of restoration/repair if anyone is interested.
There is self-contained accommodation with possibility to self-cater if and when appropriate.
There is a village shop and pub 5 minutes walk away, but anything more is 10 miles away. So a car would be good. Or a bicycle.

Hi/Hello,

I am Vanessa, I am a practising artist, I paint in oil and make sculptures too.

I built my house last year and there are still lots of finishing off things to do such as carpentry, snagging, painting and cleaning. I need a HelpXer from now, until March 6th.

I'm looking for a single person (male or female) to help me. 25 hours a week would be great, but timing is negotiable depending your interests.

In exchange, I'm offering a very comfortable ensuite bedroom in my home. Food is provided and I invite you to cook occasionally too. There is unlimited Wi-Fi access in my home too.

I have two wonderful cats that enjoy being around.

Rock is small village on the North Cornish Coast near numerous surfing beaches in this area. Rock Beach, Padstow and the Camel Estuary are beautiful places to spend your time and within 15 minutes walk from my home.

Please send me a message if this sounds appealing to you.

Best wishes,

Vanessa.

**NOT CURRENTLY HOSTING FOR THE FORESEEABLE FUTURE**

We live in a decent sized old house in Layer de laye, close to Colchester (Britains oldest recorded town)

Our village has two pubs, a shop, a woodland a few minutes walk away. There is a frequent bus service in to Colchester. And we can give lifts too.

We are non smokers. If you smoke you can do so in the garden.

Our house is a historic listed building, 300 years old in parts. On site we have a koi pond, a swimming pool, hot tub, plenty of weights and exercise equipment, and a bike. If you like activities there will be plenty to amuse yourself with.

We are a couple in our early 60's looking for a little help around the home, nothing too challenging. Gardening, light house work etc for a few hours a day.

You are especially welcome if you hold any marketing skills and can help with Rob's photography.

In return we'd be happy to offer meals and a nice private room.

We are new to helpX, it was recommended... more inside

Richard Glyn Foundation - Gaunt's House

We are currently particulary looking for 2 Residential Volunteers who wish to stay for minimum 3-6 months (from February 2019) to assist our head gardener and someone with carpentry experience to project manage the completion of our roundhouse.

Set in acres of beautiful land with a Georgian/ Edwardian period house built in the 18th Century by Sir Richard Glyn. The Richard Glynn Foundation (a charity) was set up to offer opportunities for profound learning and seeks to instil values of community, honesty and openness.

Based on a small country estate, we have a Victorian walled garden, which is being developed over time into an oasis of food production and a wildlife haven. We have inherited a much neglected garden and a lot of the work this year is in restoration, as well as trying to build new areas and grow new things in a more natural, sustainable and friendly manner.

We grow vegetables, herbs and flowers using organic gard... more inside

We are currently seaking a volunteer or volunteer couple to help us run our hostel from April through to September 2019. A minimum period of two months will suit both ourselves and our prospective volunteers interests best. Please do not reply with an offer of less than two months.

We are a modest (14 bed) backpackers hostel, in a beautiful country location close to the Eden Project and the town of St Austell in mid Cornwall.
The hostel is immediately adjacent to our cottage and utilises an existing complex of a stable yard and buildings. These have been sensitively converted into two dorms, a common area, shower block and courtyard kitchen.
We also have a modest growing area for organic soft fruits and vegetables.
The volunteer or volunteer couple are offered accommodation in our cottage with their own room and bed. Full board is provided with free use of telephone (for UK landline calls) and wifi. You can find out more about us from our website, edensyard.co.uk

Larcombe copse is an old unused slate quarry in a beautiful valley with a lake, stream, wildflower grasslands, woodland and pasture. I have a two and a half acre field with a caravan for temporary accommodation and the makings of a field shelter/lean-to for storage and to double up as an art studio.

I am looking for help to finish the construction alongside general maintenance and planting a range of trees, shrubs, herbs and vegetables, introducing bees, chickens etc. all in all to create as diverse and beautiful a place as possible:)

I live by the river in Totnes and can provide food and accommodation and transport to the field which is ten or so minutes away. There is also the option to stay up there temporarily as I am making the caravan comfortable with a burner and a gas shower:)
