Hi, we moved to our home in North Dorset August 2014. It is a farm in a beautiful area of England. We have 3 children aged 20 - 12, 2 dogs and a cat and are preparing for beef cattle. It is a very friendly area, and the train station is close by. We planted 17000 trees over the last 3 years which need some help maintaining. We are establishing a garden, renovating a barn, making doors, painting. There are lots of different jobs to do from helping on the farm, to the garden, to cleaning and cooking in the house. If you have carpentry skills, brick laying or building skills, that is useful but not necessary.

We recently finished converting a barn to a large studio with a kitchen, it is attached to the house but quiet and private with great views.

Short-term cultural exchange in the old Roman City of Chester in exchange for helping with DIY around the house and garden.

Set in central Chester the location is close to everything you need and can enjoy in the city. Chester has many interesting things to see and do, including cultural and artistic opportunities. You can also walk along the Canal and River as well as tour the city on The Roman Sandstone Walls. The black and white Tudor buildings of the Rows are a tourist attraction and many people visit each year. It is close to North Wales, Manchester and Liverpool. I also have other guests staying, often artists and actors, as I like meeting new people from all across the world.

The helper will have a private double room, with excellent views over Wales, plus shared kitchen, bathroom, living areas and gardens. Food is not provided however occasional shared meal if that suits. I would ask the guest to remain vegan/vegetarian and non-smoking whilst in my home.

Hi, I am regularly looking for helpers as there is nearly always a new project to do here. I would prefer a couple or a someone who is creative and ideally has Carpentry, Construction, DIY and Maintenance Skills In particular please, but who can also assist with all manner of things from house cleaning, DIY, Gardening, renovation and building. I am looking for a couple, but having said that, would consider a person travelling alone too.

This is a lovely old farmhouse tucked down a Cornish country lane on the Rame peninsula. I am within walking distance of the beach and national trust coastal paths where there is amazing surfing and lots of walking opportunities. I do not run the farm as a fully working farm but do have chickens, 2 pigs, dogs and cats

I am in the process of renovating a vintage caravan, barns and out buildings, and am, along with a friend, hoping to build a small straw bale and half 'old window frame' lean-to glass house, a tree house and a clay pizza oven an... more inside

Hello! We live in Totnes, in South Devon, England. Totnes is considered to be one of the most 'alternative' places to live in the UK! In addition, there are many environmental and social projects which support the community. We moved to a small house here and are trying to improve it in order to be able to live with other people.

There are 3 people who currently live here, me (Charlotte) and my two children Rowan (age 6) and Aven (age 16months). There will be other people who come to stay as the house improves and people are able to stay in the rooms. My son who studies art sometimes stays here with a friend. He is brilliant and drawing and can offer lessons!

Each room needs work eg. move walls, repair floor boards, install small kitchenette, fit bathroom, small build on the back of the house, etc. Ideally this would suit a person/s who have some building (including carpentry and plumbing) experience! Non smoker, quiet person, happy to be around a small family but also opportu... more inside

Good day, we live in a beautiful part of England, Devon, the area is called the South Hams. We have views to the sea and overlook part of Dartmoor, a National Park. Would you like living in the countryside? Do you like working outside in the fresh air? Or with animals? We run a dairy farm, currently have a herd of 200 cows and dairy replacement heifers. In February we start calving. The calves are bucket fed. The daily routine on the farm include feeding up, bedding down, milking, washing down the parlour etc, other jobs include mowing gardens & Caravan site (CL). We also expect you to help with the housework, although this is only ongoing jobs to keep the meals flowing and the accommodation half tidy through this busy period. Throughout the seasons the jobs vary, with exception to milking twice a day.
Currently required somebody who likes a variety of jobs but mainly tending to the calves, feeding, bedding them down etc...
We would be offering food and in house accommodatio... more inside

Having retired early from careers in health and social care and arts and heritage, we moved to our property in Shropshire in 2015. Our main project is developing an existing garden and creating a new productive garden in what was a pony paddock. In our first three years we have made considerable progress and are now more or less self sufficient in fruit and vegetables, and the house garden begins to look like a garden, not just a green space! But there is a long way to go. We've been planting trees and hedges recently, and a new willow bed for basket willows. And now the new gardening season is really underway. We really would love some help in April with creating new veg beds in the paddock garden. And there is always more to do - out buildings to be painted, and we want to create a couple of small ponds this year. And of course we need to maintain what we have already established!

We welcome willing helpers to enjoy our lovely setting with us. We have two spare bedr... more inside
