Hi, looking for someone to help me upgrade my narrowboat (painting, woodwork). The food is vegetarian but fish is allowed!
Accommodation is basic, in wooden cabin and I live off-grid so water and electricity are very precious. I have access to Wifi via a mobile. In 2020 I want to finish building a second cabin with kitchen and bathroom and also need help with starting a vegetable garden.
You must like dogs as they live aboard with me.
I speak Spanish and French too.
Looking for someone to help on a canalside eco-build over summer..must like dogs as I have two.
Urgently looking for someone now to help as I have cracked some ribs. Looking for anyone who wants to learn about eco-construction with straw bales and woodwork. Must like music!!

06-Feb-20 update: I live on a hilly smallholding and my property has an area of meadow and light woodland.

I need some seasonal help with gardening and landscaping (any design ideas would be welcomed), as well as painting the house exterior and the internal doors, and with general housekeeping.

My first Helpx helper was amazing and I have more work that needs to be done. I am looking for stays of between 3 and 7 days, which could be extended. I ask for the equivalent of 5 hours a day over a 5-day week but I am flexible about when the hours can be.

The house is in a rural setting, 5 miles from Tunbridge Wells, 50 miles from London, and 25 miles from Hastings, Eastbourne and Brighton south coast towns. Buses stop on my street; there is a station 12 mins walk away, with trains to Hastings (50 mins) or London (60 mins).

I can also help you with your English language learning and would be delighted to practice my school French and German.

You (he/she) would have your own ... more inside

URGENT: UPTO 3 FEMALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED 15-29th JUNE.

Hello, thank you for looking at our listing.

We are Cathy (40), John (38) and Leo who is 8 years old and home-educated. We live in a beautiful little cottage slap bang in the middle of a nature reserve.

We like to have several helpers so friends are welcome to apply, alternatively we are happy to take single travellers - but please be aware you may need to share a sleeping area with other helpers (who we will ensure are the same sex and similar age to you.)

We do not take helpers without seeing pictures, so if you do not have photos on your profile, please let us know your Facebook page or other.

We have a big kitchen, sitting room (with X-box, Wii and DVDs) and big garden as well as of course plenty of amazing countryside so you are definitely not going to feel cooped up. We also have a bath with unlimited hot water at any time of day - which is apparently a bit of a HelpXer`s luxury lol!

We have a large house and garden which we require some help looking after. We always have lots of projects on the go, we mainly work outside unless the weather drives us inside.

This year we hope to establish a bigger vegetable garden and put up a polytunnel so we can extend our growing season. We are also in the middle of renovating an old farm cottage on our land, we have builders doing some of the work but need help with some of the decorating, kitchen and bathroom fitting, woodwork and tidying up the area around the cottage which includes some land clearance.

Our quiet, secluded, 12 acre smallholding is home to our herd of 18 Alpaca, 8 Sheep, 7 Geese, 10 Ducks, ~40 Chickens and a couple of pigs (in the summer). Located alongside the river Chew it also has a small orchard and walled vegetable garden.

The 14th Century Farmhouse is a delightful home to Sarah, Chris and our young daughter Penny, and of course our Black Labrador and kitten - but also an ongoing renovation project. The accommodation for Helpers is a twin-bedded bedroom; so will accommodate up to two who are happy to share. The bathroom and all other amenities are shared with the family. Laundry and WiFi are free for Helpers' use. It is our preference for Helpers to eat with the family. Should you want a little more privacy, we do have a caravan available (for the summer months).

As hosts, we would welcome volunteers with any of the following interests: conservation; gardening; animal husbandry; hedge maintenance; land management; DIY (to name but a few...)

About us:

We want to give back what we experienced in years of traveling all over the world. Beautiful people shared their homes with us and we offered them our hearts and hands. Now since we are gifted with this lovely house in one of the most beautiful corners of Scotland we want to give back and share this treasure with you.We are a young married couple and the lucky owners of a lovely croft in the far north west of Scotland.

Our house and the main parts of the croft lie on a hill with a breathtaking view onto Oldshoremore Beach. The view from the house or from the garden invite for frequent moments of still admiration and gratitude.

Alexa grew up on a Finca in the jungle of Costa Rica within her tribe, the Boruca. She loves her plants and knows a lot about natural healing therapies, like massages, herbal remedies and energy work. One of her many missions is to pass on her shamanic knowledge and thus keeping alive her indigenous heritage.
