We prefer couples or two people traveling together. We need 4 hours a day housekeeping and gardening but this leaves you free to have a job or explore Auckland too.

We are a young family (Emma, Andrew, and three wee boys Albert (8) George (6) and baby Henry (2) and a baby bump due in June

We live in, Oratia, West Auckland and are looking to offer a homestay close to the centre of Auckland and also close to the world famous West Coast beaches, Piha and Bethalls. We are nestled in the foothills of the Waitakere ranges on a private acre big section. We are surrounded by native bush and get woken each morning to the sound of the Tuis singing in our Kowhai trees.

We are close to a train station which takes you directly into the CBD and the heart of Auckland City - the best of both worlds we think. Its good though if you have a car.

You have your own room and privacy to stay in and offer full board in terms of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In ... more inside

We live on a small lifestyle block in the Southern hills approximately 40km from Auckland City. We are pretty easy to get along with and share the property with a sheep, chickens, a cat and a large boisterous dog. Mountain biking, bush walking and other outdoor pursuits are close by. We run an engineering business and a small tour business. Property maintenance and assisting before, during and after tours (often cleaning vehicles) is the kind of things we need help with for about 25 hours per week. Sometimes also short term house sitting and pet minding. Mechanical skills and experience with property maintenance tools would be an advantage. We can offer accommodation with an ensuite, kitchenette, TV etc separate to the main house. We provide food and you choose whether you prefer to prepare your own meals or eat with us. We are approximately 8km from local shops and the train station and 5km from a popular backpacker car sales yard. While we travel regularly and may be able to ... more inside

Hi di helpers!

Steve and I live in a beautiful bungalow in a central suburb of Auckland. We are a writer and an artist and love our peaceful and quiet property. We love walking, reading, gardening, listen to music and cook vegetarian dinners.

In exchange for 4 hours work per day you get a comfortable bed, wifi, breakfast, lunch and dinner and 1 day per week off.
We work in the mornings. Maximum stay is 1 week.

At this moment we are looking for a couple or friends that don't mind sharing a big king size bed. Scrubbing deck muscles and green fingers would come in handy because we need to dig out honeysuckle vines.

Most of the time I would work alongside you and cook as well, so unfortunately I don't have a lot of energy left over to entertain you after the work is done. However the city is close by for visits to the waterfront, museum, art gallery and library.

We are looking forward to meet you.

Anita

Hi!
We are Jeff and Helen, we are a married couple with a young daughter, Mabel. We are sharemilking 200 cows on a stunning farm in rural South-East Auckland. We are in a prime location for recreational activities, close to the Kawakawa Bay and the Hanua Ranges national park, and only a 40 minute drive to the city of Auckland.
We would love for you to stay with us over the Winter calving and Spring mating season which starts in June/July to October 2019. Duties include feeding calves, fetching stock, general farm maintenance and domestic duties. We also have a dog called Maggie, two friendly cats and 4 chickens – a love of animals is a must! There is a comfortable, warm room for you to stay in & you will enjoy delicious meals cooked by Helen.
We would like someone trustworthy, who likes the outdoors, is eager to learn & doesn’t mind getting their hands dirty.

We have a lovely historic home and large ornamental gardens, vegetable gardens and orchards as well as fire-wood tree plantings. we have some sheep, dogs, hens and fish ponds.
There are three dwellings on the property and two of our adult children and their children live in the other two dwellings. We have family working bee days once a month. There is the option of staying in the house or a sleepout in the garden. The sleepout does not have power or water but is situated in a pretty spot. We are a non smoking property. Our meals are mostly vegetarian but also our son does cooking and is a meat cooker. The work would be mainly weeding, mulching, weedeating, mowing, firewood prep. it would be useful to have some knowledge of plants so as to be able to weed the borders. We are very willing to help and teach about the gardens, fruit trees or any other work we are engaged in if that is required.
There is no public transport nearby, although a train to Auckland city is a 15 minute dri... more inside

Hello,

Kurt and Sherryn have a 20 acre lifestyle block and would like some help with small farm maintenance like stacking wood and weeding. So you need to be fit enough to do four hours work in exchange for three meals a day and a comfortable room.
Kurt is retired and a very good cook but a bit deaf so has the TV loud. We have wifi and you will need your own transport to enjoy the many beaches, regional parks and Matakana markets. Sherryn is a full time teacher.
Please bring your own alcohol.

Look forward to meeting you.
