Our family are beef producers in a picturesque area of Victoria. Our 125 ha cattle farm is 1.5 hours north-east of Melbourne in the Glenburn valley, half way between the small country towns of Yarra Glen (25km away) and Yea (25 km away). The wine region of the Yarra Valley is 20mins away by car.
You will be staying in a rustic 100 year old farm cottage with 2 bedrooms, bathroom, living and kitchen areas with basic amenities such as water, power, fans, wood heater. Our family does not live here, we live 15 mins away at another property. We will supply linen and kitchen requirements. You will have the freedom to explore our property with its rolling hills and running creeks and learn about ethical and sustainable beef production.

We are currently looking for people who can help with gardening, pasture management, cutting grass and doing work around the farm.

If you are a confident and experienced horse rider, this is the place for you. We have 2 quarter horses and if you stay with us, it is all about the horses. We ride Western but English riders are very welcome as well. So, if you are passionate about horses, this is the place for you. But if you just like to enjoy life on the farm that's fine too!

We live on a 108 acre property about 1.5 hours northwest of Melbourne. There is always more work on the farm than we can manage ourselves - gardening (lots of weeds, unfortunately which means that we do a lot of weeding), cleaning horse stalls, keeping stables and paddocks clean, wood cutting, grass slashing, fencing, brush clearing, etc. So, we are looking for helpers who are keen to get involved in outdoor activities and help with lots of small farm projects. This is physical work, so it is quite imp... more inside

We live in a beautiful part of Melbourne, on traditional Wurrundjeri country right on the Yarra River.

We grow food, keep chooks, have a small orchard, and make plenty of good food!

Activities during your stay (min 2 nights) could include: planting, picking, weeding, mulching, composting, landcare, revegetation, sourdough baking, cheese making, pottery, woodwork, meditation, kayaking, and of course swimming in the river in the afternoon.

Jane & I (Bill) work in the city 3-4 days each week. We would love for you to be able to self-direct and take initiative in terms of what you would be able to do at our place. We are able to work with you some of the time, and our son (22) is also able to work with you when he is here (pottery, baker, permaculture gardener).
We ask for approx 20hrs/wk of help around the place in exchange for accommodation and food. We also ask that you help with cooking and cleaning since we are not always home in time to make dinner for you.
