We would be keen to have 2 people (over the age of 23) for 1 week who have initiative, can work independently and are practical.

There is lots of variety in the jobs - most outside, some inside.

If you have experiencing roofing please let us know.

There is always gardening, painting and cleaning, depending on the weather.

Our helpers work for 4 hours of work a day in exchange for meals and accommodation. You will need a car as we are 10 minutes drive from the shop and the beach with no public transport.

Be sure to read our reviews.

We are on a 10 acre block with two dogs and two cats a swimming pool and a spa pool (hot tub). We enjoying cooking and will feed you well (we eat most things).

Having initiative is really important to us and helping out where needed is appreciated. Once you have done your work then go off and enjoy the beach, Mangawahai, relax in the caravan with a book or WIFI.

I'm Jeff and moved from California to NZ over 30 years ago to establish my horticulture business based on organic principles. I have NZ's largest daylily nursery and send plants all over NZ. I also have a 150-tree avocado orchard and sell produce at the local farmers market. Other trees are walnut, macadamia, citrus, apples, plums, feijoas and we also grow all our vegetables so are almost self sufficient.

Wewould love help with gardening and general maintenance around the orchard and house. We are now in the process of establishing some more vegetable beds.
We are looking for someone to help us create more garden beds and also help with spraying ( organic ) the trees ready for next season and some wood cutting, mulching and minor building work would be helpful too.
You will stay in the self contained small cottage in the garden with solar panels and composting toilet .Your own transport is preferred as we live in the country and beautiful beaches and walks are close by but... more inside

We run a small beachside farm in the beautiful Whangarei Heads right on the Te Araroa trail.

We are raising guinea fowl and growing several hundred trees in preparation for reforrestation of our block.

We are looking for 6 hours help per day for 1-4 weeks with activities ranging from gardening and construction to painting and simple household tasks such as cooking & cleaning.

We are at the farm from Thursday’s to Sunday’s, the rest of the week you are in charge :)

If you don’t have a vehicle and are heading North we can provide transport from Auckland to Whangarei Heads on Thursday’s and if you are heading South we can provide transport from the heads down to Auckland on Sundays

The farm is 30 minutes drive from Whangarei, a 10 minute drive to the nearby village and a 15min cycle to the closest store.

This home is about midway between Kaiwaka and Maunguturoto on a rural road; it would be easier for you if you had a car; it's 20 minutes to the sea at Mangawhai Heads or Waipu Cove and 90 minutes to Auckland (depends on traffic).
The house is a Kauri built house of about 1900 set in an acre of mostly wood and lawns. It's quiet and rural, a home with a comforting vibe (NO smoking - sorry)
We'd like people who can stay for 3 days or up to two weeks if it suits.

Any time from now until the middle of December we would be delighted to have people stay

WHAT DO WE NEED HELP WITH? Garden work. Encourage the right things to grow and help beat the weeds. There is an old sleepy dog and a lively cat .
4 hours help a day in return for great home and facilities.
You get a Comfy large bed, TV, DVD, Freeview Broadband/wi-fi and your own bathroom.
Local gym/library/cafes shops 15 mins drive
I am afraid we only speak English. Bob is vegetarian though happy for you to eat what suits you.

Seeking versatile person/ couple for a couple of days work doing 4 hrs per day in exchange for great accommodation and food.

I'm needing help with weeding, laying weedmats, topping with bark and scoria, and also painting some garden edging.

They're not big jobs or hard jobs but I am unable to do them due to a knee injury.

I also need windows washing and a garage tidying. Perfect jobs for a couple who just want to chill close to the beach for a few days.

Must be non smokers and must have your own vehicle so you can enjoy this location at it's best.

You must be able to use own initiative as you will be working by yourself.
You must like cats and dogs, and be happy to play endless ball games with my goofy pooch! The beach is 200m away and pooch would love to show you all his favourite swim spots too!

I live in a lovely quiet suburb in sunny Northland, literally 200 metres from the beach.
There are also 10 other amazing beaches all within 30 mins drive.
Great sur... more inside

We are a well travelled couple in our 60s and are establishing the garden in our new home. Help appreciated with weeding, mulching and planting, and general tidying up.

We offer you self-contained accommodation and, according to other HelpXers, the meals we cook are great.

We live in Mangawhai where there are superb surf beaches and we are approximately 90 minutes north of Auckland. As we live in a rural area having your own transport is an advantage.

We envisage that guests would stay one to two weeks.

Kia Ora Help Exchangers. I am your host, Darwin, and I am living on a 20 ha rural life-style property on the wild West Coast, just 15 km south-west of Te Kopuru (see map) and Dargaville (Northland). I had a career in medical and scientific research and was a medical school professor for nearly 25 years. Now I spend my time doing artwork in clay, bronze metal and wood. I am happy to teach you some of these skills as well during your visit.

I am happy to host HelpX workers/guests that are capable of supervised and/or unsupervised outdoor work on the property that would include brush clearance, earthwork building trails to the beach, and general outdoor works and some housework (spring cleaning). I have a great workshop for artwork if you are interested in this during your leisure time.

I expect HelpX guests to be gay-friendly or gay-accepting. In addition, HelpX Guests should like dogs, as my "girls" (Siberian Huskies) have free range of the home, and there is dog-fur ever... more inside
