Hello fellow travelers.
Due to Ian having surgery we are currently needing a hand with our chores. If you can help us out it would be most appreciated.
On our small life style block we currently only have cows and chickens on the farm side and on the domestic side 3 cats and 2 very energetic dogs. So you "must love dogs" to come here.
We are situated in South Auckland in the beautiful Hunua ranges. Our farm is a work in progress in which we require actively healthy fit people to come and help us with a wide variety of jobs. Skilled builders, painters and gardeners especially. There is a lot of gardening including vege and orchard work to do, painting, grubbing weeds, as well as other farm duties. There is also some domestic chores we need help with. We have two rooms and a separate bathroom for your use. We have visited many countries and welcome all nationalities however you will need to have a fairly good grasp of spoken English to be able to follow instructions. We look forwar... more inside

Hi,
before we introduce ourselves I would like to let you know that we are not worried about your skills, we don't expect any experts, but someone who genuinely loves plants and to help. For us, communication is the most important thing and we prefer someone who has a sense of humor and fits into our sociable family. If you are a recluse and rather hide in your room or look at your phone, please don't apply. If you like (modern/strategic) board games, card games (incl. Bridge)or chess,we can cater for that.
Our household consists of 3 people. Andrew, retired business man from England, myself ( educator and naturopath from Germany) and my son Oliver (16,home schooled).
Our property is a project of an existing vegetable garden and orchard, extended now to a new orchard with 20 new fruit and nut trees on 5000sqm.
The future plans are to use Permaculture and bio-dynamic principles as well as solar energy to become self-sufficient, save our own seeds and propagate from plants.

Hello and Welcome to NZ,

I need a helper from 7th August.

I built this eco-house from earth bricks and natural timbers, because I wanted a healthy, relaxing environment.
It's on a 17 acre (6.7 hectare) paradise looking onto native bush, located in the Bombay Hills, about 60 km south of Auckland CBD and 12km from the bus stop or the nearest shop.

I've studied Organic Horticulture and grow our food that way, living a holistic, healthy lifestyle. There's avocado, lemon, lime, mandarin, banana, macadamia trees, as well as fresh vegetables and herbs.

Personally I eat an "O" blood type diet including meat, without grains and dairy, but I can buy them for you. Please tell me your food needs as I want you to be happy.

Mature helpers who speak English are welcome, so they can follow instructions to work on their own, and have enough life experience to see what needs to be done and tidy up as they go.
I like to have people around me who are conscious and conscientious.
Pleas... more inside

Need HelpX workers as soon as possible in August to help out with work in our commercial orchard. The role will be 4 hours of work helping our Orchard Manager with a winter pruning in exchange for meals and accommodation.

We are located on the outskirts of Auckland in a rural area, opposite a pine forest which is great for outdoor pursuits such as walking, biking or horse riding. Within the surrounding area are local wineries and the beach. We are 5-10 minutes drive to local villages, and 15 minutes drive to a newly-built shopping mall. We are 30 minutes drive from the city of Auckland, in non peak-hour traffic.

The property consists of extensive gardens, a tennis court, a pond, a lake, a chicken coup, two paddocks, a home orchard and vegetable garden, and a commercial persimmon orchard. It has been used for functions such as weddings, and movies.

The house is a two storey New Zealand replica villa, country style farm house, with downstairs guest accommodation consisting of... more inside

Very central location close to Ponsonby Road, parks and supermarkets. Stay with me (owner) and one border collie (dog). Attractive renovated house and garden. Free WiFi. I have one spare room for a male visitor who is helpful, non-smoking, clean and tidy - and who wants to enjoy easy access to central Auckland and explore its neighbourhoods. If you don't read this, or match these criteria, kindly don't apply because I won't reply and you are wasting your time. Note for Helpers: I probably won't consider your request to stay if you put almost nothing about yourself on your profile - so I recommend you make some effort so potential hosts can know something about you before you apply. After all, the host profile usually has a lot of information, photos and some reviews - you should supply that as well!!

Light duties might include regular housework, ironing a few shirts, odd jobs around the garden or small projects. Since I don't exactly run a farm, I do expect you to adapt to our r... more inside

We are a friendly household with a bit of a chaotic lifestyle at times but are very welcoming and flexible and really enjoy meeting people from other countries. We are an older couple with adult children who live separately on our property with their baby and three year old son. There are cats, chickens, ponies and a vegetable garden. We are currently not able to do much maintenance around our property so would really value your help! I am not as mobile as I used to be after breaking my hip late last year. My husband has a physical disability which means he can't do a lot of practical tasks. We greatly appreciate help with general maintenance including gardening, firewood and household/backyard tasks. Experience in using a weed-eater and a chainsaw would be very useful.

We ask for up to four hours a day help per person 5-6 days a week. We are flexible about hours and fine if you want to work one full day and spend another day exploring our beautiful coastal area.

Can you cook delicious food? Help in house and garden?

I live alone in a comfortable 2 bedroom house on a big section, 10 minutes drive to the city, perhaps 20 minutes by bus. I don't have any organic credentials though I do grow some veges...

But I'm thinking it would be great to have some (solo preferred) company, a visitor from around the world, maybe 3-7 days, while you get to explore Auckland before heading off to the beautiful parts of NZ.

You would be sharing a room with my grand piano (which I have to work on sometimes) ... but it is a big room. I hope you can cook ... I can lol.

Actually I rent this home, so there is no major work to be done, but there is always something to be done, mostly just the housework, and doing things in the garden.

I am a mature guy, classical musician by trade, and I'd enjoy the variety of different visitors from around the world. Ich kann ein Bisschen Deutsch, fast.

Around here there is wonderful walking by the sea. though no... more inside

*Update* Looking for someone that can construct some raised vege garden boxes for us out of timber. We already have the posts and lengths just need a skilled person to put them together. Thanks

Hi, we would absolutely love some help now.

We are keen to have some Helpx that love working outdoors. We prefer a couple or 2 friends.
We are happy to have people for a week or so, while they sort things out before flying back to Europe, or whatever your situation is.

We have a lovely Lifestyle property in Whitford, in South Auckland, with equestrian horse facilities & large vegetable gardens.

We are a 30 minute drive to Central Auckland.

The accommodation is in a double room in the house or a lovely double room in a converted stable in the garden.

Help is needed mainly outdoors on the property, general things and working on the large vegetable gardens. The vegetable gardens are closed for the winter, but we need to set them up for the spring.

My husband, Laurence and I live here. We are young at heart in our early 60s. Our 29 year old son, Josh, and partner and their 18 month old baby boy, Miro also live here in an apartment attached to the house.

Hello,
We farm a 700 acre sheep and beef finishing farm south of Auckland, in picturesque Clevedon village.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated helpersto help with general farm activities such as straightening fence battens, weed spraying, thistle grubbing, helping with weighing cattle, mucking out horse paddocks, and general maintenance work, as well as cleaning/house work depending on your skill set!
Kelley is a horse vet, so there is also the option to help with the horses.
We ask for 6 hours work each day in exchange for a great self contained flat and meals. Basic breakfast food and milk, coffee, tea etc all provided in the flat.
Clevedon is 30 minutes south east of Auckland city.
The work can be quite physical. Enthusiasm to get stuck in and help where needed most important :)

Accommodation is set up with a double bed. Own bathroom, living room/kitchen.
We would prefer helpers over 20 years of age.
Helpers normally stay for one to two weeks.
