Hello!

We are a lively family of five....2 adults, 3 kids (13, 10 and 6yrs) We have 2 little dogs, 1 duck, 6 chickens, 2 guinea pigs, friendly eels in the stream and lots of beautiful native birds around in the trees.

We live walking distance to Raglan’s amazing black sand surf beach. Its a quick drive to Manu Bay surf break and a 4 minute drive to Raglan township.

Accomodation is quite rustic and separate to the house in a giant tipi which has electricity, a fire pit and mosquito nets over the beds, we have a composting toilet next to the tipi but the shower is in the main house.

We provide all meals in exchange for 4 hours work a day and general help around mealtimes. We aren’t vegetarian but eat plant based meals most of the time.

The work can be varied depending on what is needed and your what your strengths are...most probably some gardening; mulching, weeding, digging, planting, composting etc but could also be building, painting, cleaning....we grow a lot of o... more inside

Thank you for looking at our profile.

We enjoy people with a good sense of humour, out going and enthusiastic helpers.

We are ex-South Island farmers who moved here several years ago. Over the years both here and in the South Island, we have had many helpx people spend time with us, though in recent times we haven't had many.

We mainly have horses, we are breeding warm blood horses, based on European bloodlines. Our son has show jumped to top level in NZ, and has now set up a equine rehabilitation centre on another property not far away.

Besides the horses, we also have have a dog and two cats, also hens and a small mob of sheep and cattle.

You have comfortable beds, home cooked meals, and join us in our daily lives. You will be required to help us both outside and inside . My husband and I look after the horses. You are welcome to chat with the horses, we have mares just about to foal.
We are pretty easy going.

Having your own transport, would be a big a... more inside

We are a small family with one 12 year old child. We live on a 10 acre property. We are raising a few calves, a couple of pigs and we have a large vegetable garden and orchard. We have dogs and a cat.

Sue works full time and Luca stays home looking after our child and keeping the property ticking along.

We are looking for help with building, gardening, general maintenance and anything else that comes up. We like the beach, cooking and gardening.
We live in a quiet, peaceful place 5km from Ruapuke Beach and about 20km from Raglan (check out Raglan www.raglan.net.nz). There is no public transport where we live so own transport is prefered

We offer separate accomodation with own bathroom and shared meals. The separate accomodation is a large open space studio with couch, king size bed, with television and DVD. Internet is available in main house only.
At the moment we could use a hand with general garden work, staining house, cutting and splitting firewood, stone work, fe... more inside

Hello travellers….and kiwis…...

Spring is well and truely here.....beautiful blossoms and the earth warming up, seedlings started for the summer gardens, lawns mowed and chickens laying again.
Jewellery production on in the new studio, gearing up for the summer festival season.

We are open to new helpers from now, Early October 2019.

Most important projects involve moving soil and building a retaining wall to put up the new teepee. Some painting and preparing the bus under its new big roof, and building a compost toilet and kitchen So we need strong and capable helper(s).

Some days there will be some help in the house, cleaning etc.

Any one who can make simple but tidy macramé for our necklaces would be great! And maybe some sanding of the jewellery too.

We are a family of four with two girls aged 8 and 11 years old.
Two cats, and chickens, lots of native birds visiting.

As well as all the wild birds, Kereru coming in to eat the holly berries.
On our prope... more inside

Hello! I have a home in Raglan and a lot of ideas about what I could do with the property's outdoor spaces to grow more food, plant natives, encourage more outdoor time, host guests, etc.. But I have limited time as I am a single home owner and work full time in my passions - community conservation, environmental movements and teaching yoga.

What I need is a keen bean who has a little bit of know-how about gardens, building, landscape or just has initiative and is really keen to get in and muck around.

I can offer a private room in exchange for 2 hours a day. If you stay a week, definitely get a day off! I used to be a Help Xer myself!

My German partner and I (a kiwi) would love to share our beautiful 1903 home, (NZ classic architecture of this time), with some willing helpers.

We are a couple in our 40s and enjoy socialising. My son who is 26 is at home for a short time from university. So we are a happy family of 3 adults. Holly travels a lot for work, so wont be guaranteed to be here during your stay.

We try and have a healthy lifestyle, we have free range chicken, raise our own meat, have veggie gardens, fruit trees etc, and soon hope to milk our house cow, who has a new very sweet calf.

We have a lot of animals on our small farm including a pet peacock for entertainment! Sorry but the horses in the photo aren't here anymore.

We expect around four hours work per person, per day you stay as an exchange, plus participation at meal times. We are quite flexible as to when you to do your work, and try to offer a variety of jobs to suit what you enjoy doing or want to learn about.

Hi - we are currently looking for someone. We prefer someone who can stay around a month mainly to help out with the horses. Must have some previous experience with horses.

We are a fun (maybe crazy) family (2 boys and a girl - all at school), a heap of horses and ponies, dog, cats, calves, and chooks. Living in rural Waikato but only 1 hour from Auckland, Coromandel and Hamilton. Our life is busy and never boring, always lots happening.

We would love help mainly with the horses and ponies. Caring for them, including feeding, and riding if capable. Also general lifestyle jobs like feeding chooks, collecting eggs or feeding hay to the calves. We would treat you as part of the family but you would have your own living space with a lovely spacious separate building near the house but on its own. We will supply food and accommodation in return for your help.

Looking forward to meeting travelling folks from around the world and hearing about your homeland.

If a couple ... more inside
