Anissa and I share a peaceful cottage with a small bear (aka rocky the dog) in dreamy Te Awanga. Together we run an organic chocolate shop in nearby Hastings which takes a lot of our time so we're looking for helpers to help with the garden and to finish some little renovations at home. you will be accommodated in a tidy sleep out with it's own bathroom and shower. We have a pretty good outdoor kitchen, bath and shower too. the beach is a 5 min stroll down the street and there's a great surf spot there too. Lots of projects happening and always something to do. There's also a mini super market 10mins bike ride away And if you need to work on any of your own projects we have a great workshop at home and a collective space in town. Te Awanga is a great community and there's usually a beach fire to enjoy with a beer and some company most weekends. Thanks for taking time to read this and we look forward to hearing from you! Anissa and Joe

We have a large family homestead, with one daughter at boarding school and an 18 year old son playing polo. There are 4 polo horses to keep fit and look after at polo tournaments from the beginning of December until the end of January. The horses are well mannered but applicants must be experienced riders.

We can provide a large bedroom, bathroom and food or cook your own, in return for 4-5 hours a day working with the horses or gardening etc. We're very flexible. WiFi is available and we have cell phone reception. The nearest town is 5 kms away, Hastings is half an hour so own car would be an advantage. The beach is half an hour away.

We operate a manufacturing business from our farm buildings making polo mallets and croquet mallets which are exported to over 50 countries. There's always plenty to be done.

I have 15 acres in beautiful Central Hawkes Bay. A few sheep,1 dog,12 chooks and soon a couple of bobby calves.
Currently in need of a fit, mature, sensible male preferably with some building or landscaping experience for a 1 to 2 week stay, possibly longer
There will be some gardening to do, help set up pest and bird proof orchard/vege garden, feeding of animals, maintenance of fences and troughs, painting and general outdoor work. Nothing too strenuous! Approx 15-20 hours work a week with own bedroom and meals provided. I usually cook the evening meal but if you want to share your cooking skills I'm always appreciative of trying new cuisine. Breakfast and lunch is generally help yourself from the fridge or pantry. Food is mainly grown here rather than bought, fruit and veges are spray free. I have free range meat and eggs.
My goal is to eventually be self sufficient, it takes time to set up an efficient garden but I'm well on the way.
I enjoy good food, good wine, good com... more inside

We have a lovely property overlooking Napier, with a large garden and several paddocks. The work we need is tidying up around our property - gardens, fences, and trees.
We have a friendly dog who also loves meeting new people. We are an English couple who have been in NZ for 14 years. We loved our time travelling, and we enjoy meeting others who are wanting to experience New Zealand.
Our helper accommodation is in a separate flat next to the house. We are not vegetarian but can cater for someone who is.
We live about 5 to 10 minutes drive from Napier, and 20 minutes from Hastings. There are no buses to our place. Non smokers only please.

Hi There! I'm a former resident of Auckland who visited beautiful Hawkes Bay for a Holiday 4 years ago Öand decided to stay!

Iíve purchased a historic cottage in Central Napier City, which I am restoring to original condition. It is a slow process, carefully pulling back layers to reveal the original interior.

This restoration project is a big job! so I need our help! with gardening, household chores, and some light restoration work, such as painting.

There's plenty to do in Hawkes Bay! Including my favourite hike... Bell Rock! (Photo attached).

If this sounds like you, then please do get in touch...

Happy travels!
Matt
