Established for 40 years on this site for 22 years. We are in the Taranaki Heart Land East of Stratford.

We are a Rarebreed stud farm, farming all classes of stock - sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, ducks, chooks, horses, donkeys and more. We grow pip and stone heritage trees, veg and berries for home use
We are heavily into self sufficiency and do all we can ourselves.

We sell weekly at the Farmers Market ,as well as this we run courses on all kinds of things relating to farming and self reliance.
In the future we intend to have more paying tourists, for trekking nature visits, etc.
We are very busy but there are never two days the same.

We exchange help for board and food like wwoof etc. The food is mostly from the farm and you can self cater or have shared meals depending on our work load and time of year etc. We may have a project we are working on that may change the way we work. We are very easy to get on with.

If you are interested in livestock, self reliance,coun... more inside

We are a family of five (2 girls 6 and 14 and little Jack 2) We have basic house accommodation 500 metres from our own house (bed, tv, fridge, stove, washing machine...) We are 8 minutes from Inglewood and 25 minutes away from the nearest city New Plymouth. We are also near Mount Taranaki. You would need to have transport or could possibly meet a bus nearby.
We think this is a great way to meet people from other cultures.
We are a busy dairy farming family milking 500 cows through a rotary shed.
If you were to come and stay with us we would like it for you to help do some chores on farm like milking.
We would expect around 4 hours work per day.
There is currently one man (21) living in the house.
In return we will provide 3 meals a day... seeing you are not staying in our own house we can supply food for breakfast and lunch at the house and dinner can either be sent down or you can come up to our house we have wifi at our own home that you can come and use.

We own a 15 room, homely, friendly backpackers, set on city fringe, but surrounded by nature. We often need help with our housekeeping, reception, and social media. Full training given, however we do require a longer commitment for the reception position, unless you have experience, as there is a lot of training. 12 hours per week, with plenty of time off, would return accommodation, unlimited wifi, and free bikes and laundry.

The hostel is located next to the Te Henui River walkway, with scenic bush outlook, lovely birdsong, and sunny garden, picnic and bbq area. We sleep as many as 40, and have a nice friendly atmosphere in the lodge. We have bbqs, and shared meals.

New Plymouth is a wonderful place to visit, especially in the summer; we have great surf, and award winning walkways, not to mention our majestic mountain for outdoor adventures.

Please call or Email Rachel, with some info about yourself, including a CV.

In return for at least 4 hours work per day, we provide accommodation and meals. We can accommodate 2 people in a queen bedroom. Prefer if you have your own transport as we are 10 minutes drive from town. We are happy to share our meals (we eat gluten free and as much as possible from our garden). We live on a lifestyle block and are working towards becoming self sufficient. We love our animals which include a cat, 2 dogs, a rabbit, cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, fish, bees and sometimes pigs! We produce as much of our own fruit and veggies as we can using organic principles. There are always jobs to do!
Our interests include mountain biking, fishing, ceramics (I have a kiln), home brewing and meeting people!

Taranaki has an amazing mountain with lots of tramping in the Egmont National Park. It is also well known to surfers for the local surf beaches. Pukekura park, the coastal walkway and Mangamahoe mountain bike park are all worth a visit. We have bikes you can borrow to go e... more inside
