Hello

We are a married couple in our mid-thirties, recently had our first child Jed. We are looking for general help over the summer on the farm from help with the animals, gardening plus many other tasks. We are happy to provid jobs that suit you and your skills

We have 300 Sheep and 220 Cattle, plus the pets!

We have had 3 Helpx experiences and all have been very enjoyable.

We would like a friendly individual or couple with a good sense of humor, practical skills and common sense. The ability to prepare a meal, if required, would be great.

We are aware of the traveling experience and don`t work our helpers hard or unfairly. We leave it up to yourselves to manage hours and a routine. We really look after those with a good work ethic.

You must be fond of animals! We have a lovely river nearby (Pohangina), the Ruahine Forest Park plus many activities not too far away. Mt Ruapehu, for snow sports, is approximately 2hrs drive.

Accommodation is a sleep-out off ... more inside

Our own little paradise is a 12 hectare life-style farm at the foothills of the Tararua Ranges between Masterton & Carterton (approx. 75 mins drive to Wellington or Palmerston North). It is serviced by train from Wellington and also part of the bus network if you do not have your own transport.

We love the country lifestyle, living simply and we enjoy peace and quiet and stunning views. We are slowly renovating our home, landscaping and building food growing areas outside to provide a more sustainable living. Our home uses rai... more inside

Hey guys,
No one ever has lived on this piece of land before we've purchased it and we developing the land from scratch, so you could call us pioneers ;)
The property is 20acres and half of it is covered with beautiful native bush with a huge variety of native trees like Totara, Kaekatea, Matai, Rimu to name a few. The other half is mostly pines (weeds!) we are taking out at the moment and replacing them with natives. We also going to establish an orchard (fruits, nuts etc) and veggie gardens (all organic!) and have to build many structures, mostly earth buildings.
There is a stream and a decent size waterfall on our land also. The water we using comes from our clean spring. We are totally off the grid, producing our own power. We`ve got showers and composting toilets in place.
So far it`s 5 of us on the land. My wife Ragna, our son Samson, our other son Maximilian, Hokee the cat and me, Alex :)
There are so many projects going on right now and we could need anybody with a good... more inside

Hi travelers and explorers,
Looking for help this week and next.
We are a good place to stop if you are just about to go and explore the next island north or south. We are in the Wairarapa Wellington region. Nearest town is Masterton. Our nearest city is Wellington. Train between.
Nothing heavy or stressful, just general family help. Inside and outside. Currently looking for help from end March and for most of April.

We are a family of 5. We have three children at school. We have 2 horses(hunters), 1 puppy and 1 cat (she lives outside) and two guinea pigs. Veggie gardens and paddocks for the horses. We live in the countryside by a river, great for walks and swimming. (You do not need horse knowledge.). If you can drive on the left or have your own car, it is helpful but not essential. We go to town every day and so does the neighbour if you want to get a ride.
You will have your own very sunny new double bedroom with your own private bathroom and amazing views fr... more inside

We would host you at our historic country home built in 1881. It is nestled at the bottom of a valley and this tranquil setting has country views and easy access the Tararua ranges for hiking. We are only 15 minutesí drive from Masterton. We are 20 minutes from the Puhaka National Bird Reserve where you can see the white kiwi.

The Wairarapa offers you the chance to enjoy all New Zealand has to offer, with great vineyards, rivers and beautiful mountains.

We drive to Masterton daily so could assist with rides when we are already heading into town although your own car would be helpful. There are daily train and bus services to Masterton and we would be happy to pick you up when you arrive. We have 2 mountain bikes and kayaks available.

We have recently semi-retired so are looking forward to tackling lots of projects on our 12 acre lifestyle block whilst continuing to run our own businesses. We have lots of everyday maintenance work. This summer we are working on our garde... more inside
